    That telephoto is quite impressive. Very sharp. It must have stabilization, too.
    Oyster catchers are fun to watch. I remember seeing them in Alaska. Thanks for the diversion from my not-so-exciting life. 👍🏻

      Yes, it's a new Sony camcorder I bought this summer as an upgrade to my old one. Really happy with it so far. Better zoom, higher bitrate video, BOSS (Balanced Optical Stabilization System) and I can do better sound now as it has an external mic port. - www.loveyourrv.com/love-your-rv-gets-a-new-4k-camcorder-sony-fdr-ax53/ Cheers, Ray

    Nice. That was funny with the seal and his deflated, eye-less head. I bet it was hard to see clearly if you have a screen that looks really dark in the daylight. We'll cut you some slack. Loved that bird coming up with the little crab in the rock crevice! That's what that was, wasn't it? Beautiful trip you're having. Where you headed to for the winter?

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, tough to see details on a 3" screen in bright sunlight. We are headed to the southwest, Arizona to start and other states as the weather warms up in the spring. Cheers! Ray

      We usually turn east before San Fran, too crowded to go much further on the coast with a big RV. We go down the central valley then jump over the end of the Seirra Nevadas into the desert. :)

      @@LoveYourRV If you want a variation on your Arizona desert scenery, visit Sitting Bull Falls, South of Carlsbad/Whites City, New Mexico. If you haven't seen Carlsbad Caverns, that's well worth the trip too. Your rig won't fit on the roads into either location, so you would need to camp elsewhere (maybe Brantley Lake SP: www.emnrd.state.nm.us/spd/brantleylakestatepark.html) and just take your truck. Take note of the opening and closing times and fees for each site. Sitting Bull Falls: www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/lincoln/recarea/?recid=34238
      and Carlsbad Caverns: www.nps.gov/cave/index.htm
      Carlsbad has this event going through Dec. 23: www.christmasonthepecos.com
      Since you all like unusual desert scenery. You might also want to check out Bottomless Lakes SP near Roswell, NM.
      Love enjoying your travels through You Tube, your videos are among the best!

    Looks like you two are doing the Highway 1 to 101 route. Been there and done that. Loved it! Are you going to make it to the Salton Sea this year?

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      101 but not 1, gets a little tight and crowded for our size of rig. We head inland before we hit San Fran area.
      Not sure, its been getting worse and worse each year, last year there were hardly any birds. :(

    I've never seen an Oyster Catcher before. Thanks. Will the California fire's force you to make any detours?

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, we waited on the coast for a big rain system to come in, crossed into central California valley yesterday and the air was clear, actually clearer than normal after the big rain, I think the fires are out for the most part now. No detours required.

    My wife and I still have a good chunk of time before we can go full time. When we do we want to buy a 5th wheel. Do you find not having a bedroom slide ok? Do you think the extra weight of the slide is worth the room?

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We are OK with no slide in the bedroom, hasn't been an issue, I guess making the bed is a bit more of a hassle. Never had a slide so don't know what we may be missing. :) I guess if we had mobility issues it would be a different story.
