Dude, your roof looks like a darn circuit board... I can see where roof maintenance it's kind of a necessity. I counted roughly what, 16 or 18 devices? Mucho respect senior. I went with a one piece roof with no top side perforations. But then, I'm solo. Your straightforward wisdom is always helpful. A well cared for rig allows for a bigger budget of fun stuff 😊
Thanks for the update on the rooftop. When I mounted my solar panels, I didn't even think about putting them that close to the edge for the framing material. I moved mine in a couple inches for fear of catching a branch. They appear to be firmly attached & I have had no issues. Now I wish I would have though.
You might want to try some 303 Protectant on that skylight. Supposed to be a great UV blocker. I use it on my pop up vinyl and my Fantastic fan lid. Seems to work for the last few years i've been using it.
Yes, its the very thick washers that came with the covers so that the cotter pins are tight fitting. They seem to rust. We spend a lot of time near the ocean. I should stack some stainless washers to replace.
Your cougar is almost like my Sabre, same layout and interior. My question is where did you get the rubber seal on your slide out, mine is going also and needs replacement. Thanks and have a great time.
I was considering it but thought I would try this product mainly because it could be recoated again onto itself. I wasn't sure about the silicone based one though it is likely more durable. I also tend to change things and add things to the roof more than regular RVers and figured this product would be easier to work with from that aspect. Cheers, Ray
I'm not sure how the rubber wiper constantly going back and forth would affect the coating so decided to replace the material. Also the job was fairly easy on the slide vs the main roof.
Roof looks awesome Ray , I missed the boat on mine and now have a ton of dry rot. I’m hoping to get one more season out of it and hoping not to hit a big bump and have completely fall apart on the highway 😞 !
@@LoveYourRV Thanks Ray. I have done all of my vents like you then I notice in your video that you did the sides so I will do mine in the Spring. Thanks for your help.
I wasn't sure if there was a way it could leak along there, likely the back of the drip rail trim has butyl tape is my guess but early on I noticed they also used some silicone sealant between the drip rail and rubber roof and it was starting to peel. Also having the tape on the plastic screw cover should protect if from UV and the extra layer helps when I drag the rig through some low hanging branches. Cost a bit of money though as its a long run of tape. Also it doesn't look that pretty but the vast majority of people never notice it up so high. :)
That’s an amazing looking 14 year old roof. 🇨🇦
As always Ray your videos give me a lot of confidence in doing my own work. And thank you for the follow up videos. Safe travels!

Well, bless your heart, Ray. That's a great looking roof. Thank you for all the pointers. ❤😊
Great video.
Just in case you didnt hear there is finally a recall for the ABS/HCU on our trucks.
Thanks for the info!
Looks good Ray, thank you for the e update. I remember pretty much all your work on the roof and slide outs. 🙌🏻👌🏻🥰
I taped our roof corners 4 years ago, i had to order the black colored 4" tape. White would have looked as goofy as me. Lol
Thank you! Great timing for me!
Thanks, Ray!
Wish we were down there it is cold up here Ray
A Lunar Landscape is what it looks like down there 🍒🍒
Good job
It's not a roof- it's an accessory farm!
It looks like perhaps those roof vent hoods could use stainless fasteners.

I got it off Amazon amzn.to/3Bn4jkF AP Products
@@LoveYourRV thank you
Hi Ray, Before you coated your roof did you consider using silicone like your friend did.
I was considering it but thought I would try this product mainly because it could be recoated again onto itself. I wasn't sure about the silicone based one though it is likely more durable. @@LoveYourRV Thanks Ray, Would you have done the slide if it wasn't new?

You have a point. I think if I did my 3 slides I would use the silicone. Not to sure about the roof. Thanks for your thoughts
Hi Ray. On your side seam on the roof did you go over the edge about 1 inch?. I have to do mine in the spring. Thanks Paul
I'd estimate about an inch and a half down onto the plastic screw cover bead. I used the 4 inch wide tape

Yes, mine has that clear silicone down the side. It’s starting to come off as well.
