How to make Nigerian meat pie Recipe
For The meat pie dough
All purpose flour 4 Cups (500g)
4 sticks of margarine (450g)
2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/3 teaspoon salt if your margarine is unsalted
2 Tablespoons cold milk OR Water
2 eggs to glaze & seal the pie
For the meat pie filling
300g minced beef
1 carrot
2 potatoes
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 seasoning cubes
1 Tablespoon thyme
1 Tablespoon basil
1 teaspoon white pepper
I medium onions
1 Tablespoon corn flour
To thicken the filling
1 Tablespoon corn starch
And water

We make these in Brasil Nd it’s called PASTELS ND WE FRY OURS, I use ground Turkey Nd onions 🧅 green peppers 🫑 scallions garlic 🧄 celery Nd parsley 🌿 thyme Nd dried seasoning Nd I use Goya Empanadas Shells that is easier for us

Wondering why you used peak milk instead of regular milk?
I love the richness of the evaporated milk. But you can use the regular milk 🥛 as well. It’s just a small portion you need.

Hi dear. I have 2 important questions pls. So I made some meat pies yesterday and they were all busting open. Was it because I mixed my dough with eggs? Secondly, I also use that regular meat pie dough maker but it's so difficult to bring the dough out after adding the filling. But it was easy for u. What am I doing wrong pls

And next time try to roll your dough to be very flat before placing it on the meat pie cutter

Joyful, can you find a way to make this healthier? It is too much fat.... just my opinion. At this rate we will need heart pills in 10 years.
