I like this variation most, though I'd almost swear that as I was fighting some worms in swamp, regardless of my "chosen" instrument I got mix of all of them, for example I vividly recall oud being present during certain sections.
I like the first sequence the most. This lil' cello solo is heaven to hears ! Also, I think all the existing characters have instruments of their own, so you get their variations as well
The different versions are played once you get a kill. It's possible that the person who killed someone had the oud as her/his instrument and thus the mix of all of the instruments. That's my hypothesis at least. :D

your companions all start out with the bansuri as their instruments so youre going to hear those versions a lot
