I’ve made EXACTLY the same margarita as Leo for years. Just slowly gravitated to it thru dozens of small tweaks. Including pinch of salt and the dump - Margarita loves it rough - never strain. On a hot summer day to lower the alcohol and up the liquid I may also add 2 oz of fresh grapefruit juice. Kind of a Paloma tweak.

La Gloria is roughly 15 minutes from Tijuana. I went down to TJ solo two years ago looking for some adventure. I ran into the same guys two nights in a row partying on Avenida Revolución. They were super cool and happened to be from La Gloria. They took me out to places I would have never dreamed about going alone. Debauchery ensued. After nearly several brawls and entirely too much tequila and Indio beer, they invited me back to their place. We continued to drink tequila in their front yard, until an intensely red and orange sunrise took over the sky. After a sleepless morning, the guy who owned the home told me he had to go downtown to drop off a cell phone to girl who had left it at his place. I asked to go with him. A garbage truck happened to be driving by. He ran out front with the bottle of tequila and let them swig off of it. He later explained this ensured his garbage would be picked up weekly. We started to walk into downtown. A short while later the garbage truck came down the street we were on. He lets me know we were going to ride on the truck into downtown. To my surprise, with bottle of tequila still in hand, instead of getting in the cab he hopped onto the side of the truck and stuck his hand out for me to get on. I jumped up and held on with one hand while swigging tequila with the other. We were both laughing the whole way. While we bumped along the deeply rutted dirt roads lined with dilapidated houses and barking stray dogs, he turned around and yelled back to me "You wanted an authentic Mexican experience??!! Well this is it!!" This memory will live with me until the day I die. This video knowledged me to the fact that La Gloria and tequila have had a long history together. Thank you

I've been getting into cocktail making over the last few months, and tried all sorts of margarita recipes before settling with a 2:1:1 ratio for both the classic and Tommy's margaritas. I eventually decided to create my own and changed the Cointreau or agave nectar part to a 50/50 mix of both. I was surprised and impressed to see that not only is that how you like to make them, but according to the comments is most people's preferred variation 🎉

I know I'm a couple years late to this vid, but I've been going down the rabbit hole of margarita recipes recently and stumbled on what I think is a neat variation. It is very similar to the last recipe in this vid, but I use a good repo instead of a blanco and an orange liqueur called Naranja instead of Curacao or the usual trinity (Triple Sec, Cointreau or Grand Marnier). The combination of the repo with the Naranja gives the drink this really neat "smokiness" (best way I can describe it) that you don't get with other recipes. It's definitely a vibe that won't work for everyone but has become my favorite way to make a margarita.

It's wonderful to see how far your production has come after watching some of your earlier videos! Great margarita repetoire also, the combo AKA your favourite is a beautiful version! 11/10 would drink!

My preferred recipe is a little bit more other stuff relative to the tequila.
    1.5 oz blanco tequila
    1 oz triple sec
    .75 oz lime juice
    .75 oz simple/agave

Just stumbled onto this video and decided to go to the store and make the third version. I'll never buy premade margarita mix again. This is so good. I did a small tweak, years ago we had margaritas made with a float of grand Marnier. So I tried adding it and it gives it a little more citrus kick!

I learned how to make my margaritas from your channel a while back, and have been making them your "preferred way" ever since. Super delicious and balanced. I like to add the salt into the shaker. I love muddling some cucumber into the tin before shaking, too 😋

@@WatanabeNoTsuna. The measurements of ingredients are all the same, so yes, it is still his recipe. They're good proportions and have a great balance of flavor. Margaritas are a base; add what you want.

Love the juicer! I'm buying that through your link. How convenient! Your preferred margarita is very close to my preferred margarita, except I use 1 ounce of Cointreau or Dry Curacao, 1/4 ounce of agave, and a pinch of salt in the shaker.

Sometimes I add an ounce of peach brandy. My version of a peach margarita: 2 oz tequila, 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz peach brandy, 1/2 oz lime. Cheers! ☀️😀🍹

Love your vids. Anyone got suggestion - when you make margarita at home and follow good recipe - its a good but strong and less volume drink compared to when you get it at restaurant. What else can be added to make it still a good but not as strong and more volume - Soda? Sprite? Lemoncello?

My preferred margarita is almost identical to yours, though I use Triple Sec over curacao, b/c it's what I often have on hand. Freepour into the glass with salt in the tin. I've used repo tequila mostly b/c it's what's usually in the house, but I don't mind blanco either

I like doing 2, 1, 1 for a Margarita...a top shelf Reposado, Grand Marnier, fresh lime juice, and bar spoon of agave nectar or simple syrup; salt only on half the rim.

    Really great video, subscribed!
My recipe after 1000's of homemade Margarita's is:
50ml Blanco (Typically use Espolon or El Jimador)
    25ml Lime Juice
    35ml Cointreau
    10ml Agave

I usually make my margaritas with 1/4 teaspoon of a 5% salt solution. It's just enough salt to bring out the flavors, and the little bit of saltiness that is left over really makes it feel more refreshing.

  • @bradkohl99

My recipe is very similar, except for the measurements, because Canada and our laws that don’t allow us to do more thqn 2oz of alcohol in a drink.
1oz blanco (my old work used Sauza, my preference is Casamigos)
    .5oz agave
    .5oz Cointreau
.25-.4oz OJ (mostly for colour, but adds some flavour on the higher end of the measurement)
    1 lime
    Shake, strain over fresh ice.

  • @rand9994

I like mine a little milder. I use .5oz lime and .5oz Corona Extra, then 1 to 2 triple sec and blanco.
