great tips guys! way to keep up the interest in the sport and share the fundamentals. I miss playing so bad. Trying to find a men's league to get back in the pool again.
I've been coaching for 7 years. Make sure your technique is correct, that is far more important than strength. This video might help. Good Luck! Water Polo 101: Eggbeater and Treading Water
I am super confused now. In some of the youtube videos experts described egg beater kick as one leg up (knee bend) and another leg down (knee straight) but in your video you guys are just moving both the legs in circle kind of whirlwind motion so which one really is the egg beater kick??? uff
I tried all summer to learn this. As a senior, I can tread water for half hour using whatever technique that Red Cross taught us as kids. Never could master eggbeater enough to do it handsfree.
I play water polo with mates on summer days, however, I still don't get it how the hell can water polo players pull their body out of the water up to their bellies when they shoot the ball and goalkeepers as well.. they can stay out of the water up to their bellies up to 15 seconds, I'd really would like to know how they do that, it's getting frustrating already, I think I got the hang of the egg beater, but I can pull my self out of the water maybe up to my chest, any advice?
I'm 37 I wish I could just swim I've tried for years and years to learn and can't! I just sink no matter what kick or stroke I do! Maybe I'm just not physically able to swim....
This thing is so difficult and frustrating to learn. I'm doing exactly what you and every other water polo player on youtube says to do for this and I still sink like a freaking rock.
I’d rather listen to the water polo players for intructions/ demonstrations for egg beaters, just looks them how they tread water in defense and transition to offense!
I don't understand why you would ever encourage young players to straighten their legs. As I tell my athletes - you drop your knees, you drop yourself; you drop yourself, you can't breathe; and breathing is good, so keep your knees up!
Thanks wolf n brad. This is my first year in polo and watching videos like these n practice sure do help
wow you guys are great. do you have more videos like that. if not please make more. the way you explained everything was easy to follow and understand

It is a KAP7 inflatable goal, very easy to transport, and great for storage. Check it out at their website.

Six Sigma eggbeater is the circular kick, when elite players kick fast it probably can look like their legs are just flexing and extending

Disney channel vibes on the intro
I can do egg beater but I have a problem with moving while doing it, cuz at my school we have to do laps while doing the egg beater
Moving foward while eggbeating is quite hard, a good tip is to do a half turn and face sideways and put your legs pointing to your side
man i cant egg beat very good pisses me off so much
Lol kids who suck at polo
I'm 37 I wish I could just swim I've tried for years and years to learn and can't! I just sink no matter what kick or stroke I do! Maybe I'm just not physically able to swim....
i find one problem is where my team practices and plays the pool isnt very deep only about 5 feet

Hristo I see it mostly used for younger club teams when they don't really play polo but they learn the fundamental of it
