Felt slight pain but it was all adrenaline and didn’t make me tough or super strong to keep going. When jumping a literal building, you have adrenaline, when getting a small cut, it’s unexpected and easier to just stop.

This is funny as hell and everything, but honestly you have to give Tom props for doing that. The way you can see his ankle bend at that unnatural angle and the same shot in the movie is him getting up and running with a broken ankle is amazing to me.
TG is one of the best modern sequels I have seen and generally a great standalone piece of fiction worthy if not succeeding its predecessor. No identity politics or 'the message' a-la Doc Strange, Marvel snorfest of late yrs. Just pure escapism, the box office speaks for itself. Shame we can't get more writers and producers to re-discover the escapism and loose the naff, CW style riffs of most of todays cinema.

In Hollywood there are very few people like Tom, or Jackie Chan. In most cases like this guy’s story the star’s would leave to their trailer or home and not the day maybe talking multiple days even weeks to get better. So Tom was joking with him, he really wanted to know what kind of actor he had working with him. Think of international Football where the other player walks by, puts his hand near the players and he falls down in agony pretending to cry. That’s 99% of Hollywood actors. Especially now a days. Back in the day the actors had no real power over the studios. So the studios would put actors in danger all the time. Back then they didn’t have those little explosives that made look like a bullet his a wall or a car etc., they actually had to fire live rounds at the actors just barely missing to sell it.

And the studio would simply have a stunt double stand in during their absence This is why studios don’t like actors doing their own stunts because they’re more likely to get hurt which throws off the production schedule. However some actors are insistent on it and have to get insurance in order to be allowed to do the stunts themselves. So William was likely correct and Tom said it sarcastically to see if Miles was serious about doing stunts himself, or if he was going to go home and cost everyone a day of filming
I was concreting in a remote area of Australia with my boss, he fell and his shin bone came throught the side of his knee, he sat down in the shade and made me finish the days work before he allowed me to drive him 3 hours to a hospital - pretty sure he got paid a lot less than Mr Cruise....
