I saw it yesterday and I can say with complete sincerity that it was worth every minute of waiting that I and millions of other Top Gun fans have been waiting for. I can't thank Tom and the production team along with the rest of the cast enough for taking me back to my childhood. The motorcycles, the planes, the relationship with Penny, the memory of Goose, Ice.... everything, absolutely nothing is missing. An eighties touch with modern details. A+

I second that. Saw it in IMAX on memorial day. I'm gonna wait a couple weeks then see it again. Saw the original 3 times in the theaters as a teen, then countless times on VHS and DVD.
Thanks for your love, support and kind gesture towards me, I'm feeling cheerful and decided to discuss with my random fan on Google chat, feel free to drop your email
Just got back from the theatre. Top Gun Maverick was actually better than the first one in my opinion. Looked more realistic and because they recorded these actors inside the planes with real facial expressions. The plot was better and the action was well down. Tom was fantastic.
to all the people saying things about Tom Cruise, calling him narcissistic etc, the only reason he said I and he is because that's actually what he did.. he's not just an actor, he's a very big part of the whole process. this man has put himself through so much training etc to make sure that the audience gets as real to life experience when they watch his movies.... I'm thinking there's a lot of jealous people on here that wish they had half of the experiences that Tom Cruise has.😅😅
Tom Cruise is an idol among man. He is an inspiration for humanity, and a driving force for civilization to aspire to. A simple gesture for some is a grand act of warmth and kindness to others. History will look fondly upon your life and career. This was a message straight from my heart, to you, Sir Cruise ❤ 🍺
I remember that a lot of people started "hating" Tom Cruise because of some of his beliefs.. I honestly don't care if the guy was a flat earther.. He's one of the greatest actors and film creators of our time. Love everything this guy touches. Great casting for the new one too
Look how he involves everyone in the room. Such a genuinely great guy. Everyone talks about keanu while Tom is always flying the same flag! The guy is a legend and deserves everything he gets for a lifetime of passion and graft. I true spokesman for the best of humanity
Loved the film! I was a fan of the first one too but this one, especially at this time, is so great for so many reasons. No nudity, no sex, no blood, no violence and I think maybe a couple curse words but mostly a great film with a great message of love of family, love of country. Hollywood just proved they can do this and come up with a spectacular winner. Hope they keep doing this - might be revolutionary for the tanking culture that needs salvation!
Don't recommend supporting this movie because it is a JOKE to release it during this time in our nation when O'Biden and his Demoncrats are destroying our military from the inside out! Biden has allowed Transgenderism to occur in the Military with us paying for it, taught our military Critical Race Theory and now he wants a "Thought Police" agency developed to screen our Military Men/Women for loyalty to Democrat values ONLY! Presently, our military couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag, so whose this movie fooling? This Original movie came out in 1986 when Pres. Reagan was Commander and Chief and morale for our Military was skyrocketing because they were a force that was fearless and could stomp anyone. Now, our Military can't pay anyone to join to meet their recruiting goals. Hollyweird should have been smarter and released this in 2024 when the real "hope and change" comes when President Trump is at the helm again to rebuild our military that is presently in taters! Pray that Russia and China don't take advantage of our weak state of readiness thanks to our traitorous Democrats that would sell out their mother, because they are nothing but snowflakes!

@@johnnyweismuller6895 Wouldn’t say that I liked them “better”, but those that can compete (for me) are definitely The Dark Knight and The Green Mile. Completely different genres, but they still stuck with me for different reasons, as with Maverick.
Top Gun Maverick does something I didn't think possible : it exceeds the original. Better story, better cast, better written and way better flying sequences. Totally amazing....
I don't agree on the cast though. All of the pilot actors in the first movie just had something that pilots in the 2nd movie didn't. Can't describe it correctly. They were just... more cool.
It's a perfect movie from all aspects - the aeronautics, the adrenaline rush you get from watching them on the mission, there's great heart to it that brings the first movie along for everyone who wants to tap into the nostalgia of it all, there's romance and it's just really freaking cool. Oh and I found myself properly tearing up and not in the part that I expected to. Definitely want to check it out again on the big screen - maybe IMAX the next time.
The one thing about Tom is he doesn't do anything by halves. Total commitment. I like how green screen wasn't an option, he wants the real thing, visually looks better for it. Just like that Mission Impossible stunt on the side of the plane.....all or nothing.

Tom Cruise gave us what Hollywood lacks right now. A movie with heart, real locations, quality action scenes, a good plot and no weird agendas. Amazing movie.
The fact this film held my son’s attention, who’s only 6 and is a HUGE Jurassic Park/World fan, not once, but *twice* in the theater speaks VOLUMES to how amazing the entire film is. I love that the storyline is simple & not all over the place. Top Gun has always been a favorite film of mine, along with Tombstone and The Labyrinth! So the cast is a dream come true, newcomers (to Top Gun) included! I was born in 1986 & *HOPED* my kids would love the 1st movie so we could go together to see the sequel. My daughter (14) loved it, my son was on board and now we’ve purchased it and have watched it 2 more times this week! Truly a spectacular cast, wonderful storyline, and highlights Tom Cruise’s remarkable genius in the movie industry.
Watched the 86 topgun in 96 and now this masterpiece. Nostalgia all the way. Way to go. There shall never be another tom cruise. Perfection. Watched it on big screen and plan to go and have another rewatch. The man is a legend
Jennifer Connelly is a very underated actress. Yes she won an Oscar for a supporting role but she rarely get a great starring role in a movie while Jennifer Lawrence for some reason always get great roles. She still look goregous after all these years. My first intro to Jennifer was Labryinth and was mesmorized by her eyes.

I've never felt more tense in an action movie than in the last third of TOP GUN: MAVERICK. you HAVE to see this on a big screen. it's the most spectacular sequel since ALIENS or Terminator 2, and possibly the best action movie of all time. it's gloriously dumb and wickedly smart all at the same time, masterful Hollywood filmmaking firing on all thrusters, and tom cruise is an ICON. 🙌

Then when you look at him and he looks better than most young guns and almost handsome as he was 30 years ago with the same sense of adventure. A truly remarkable person. Great to live in the same era with him.
When he acts he does it with all his being.
This movie was beyond all expectations. From the beginning to the very end there was never a dull moment. Loved it👌
Never watched a movie more than once at the cinema.. I watched TOP GUN MAVERICK 3 times!!! Freakin’ awesome, you can’t miss it!
Antonio Ramundo I’m going for a second time soon and I’m 74.
me too!
Same! Worth every penny.
Ive been a pilot for 27 years and I am in awe at this movie; in awe at the undertaking of the cinematography; and in awe at the logistics of making this movie without green screen. These actors have done more pilot sh-it in this movie than I have in 27 years. Simply amazing xx
I have to say the casting is fantastic - I was watching a trailer and saw Miles Teller with his aviator glasses and said to my son "He's Goose's son!"
Tom is one of the most amazing actors ever. He’s drive and dedication he puts into every movie is remarkable. This new Top Gun movie is mind blowing. I could not believe they were actually that involved and literally in the cockpits of the fighter jets. Frkn bravo!!!
One thing I appreciate about Tom is that he is very aware and present of everyone present when he's talking. The fact that he looks to people and alternates his gaze and body toward's them is very respectful
Fantastic sequel, fantastic movie. This movie brought back cinema.
A+
Went tonight and saw Tom Cruise in Top Gun Maverick. This film was everything I had hoped for. Amazing, stunning, beautiful, remarkable story, fighter jet action, acting was superb!!! Made me proud to be an American🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Same man. Most American movie made in a longgggg time.
Not only is he intelligent talented actor he talks in his interviews with honesty I love the guy
Love love Tom Cruise, he is a legend and brought us back to the movies. The movie was intense and awesome!!!
to all the people saying things about Tom Cruise, calling him narcissistic etc, the only reason he said I and he is because that's actually what he did.. he's not just an actor, he's a very big part of the whole process. this man has put himself through so much training etc to make sure that the audience gets as real to life experience when they watch his movies.... I'm thinking there's a lot of jealous people on here that wish they had half of the experiences that Tom Cruise has.😅😅
lol
Tom Cruise is an idol among man. He is an inspiration for humanity, and a driving force for civilization to aspire to. A simple gesture for some is a grand act of warmth and kindness to others. History will look fondly upon your life and career. This was a message straight from my heart, to you, Sir Cruise ❤ 🍺
I don’t think he’s a narcissist at all
A living legend!
Yes he produced the movie too … let that sink it
This movie alongside "Everything, Everywhre, All at Once" may have just saved the cinemas!!!
An outstanding cinematic experience, bar none!
Totally agree. Cinema back with a roar.
Don't forget The Batman.
@@raymondfoo9045 totally agree times two! a good season for cinema..:)
Pray that Russia and China don't take advantage of our weak state of readiness thanks to our traitorous Democrats that would sell out their mother, because they are nothing but snowflakes!
no violence? they exploded planes and gave an artillery bombardment to an airstrip
@@themilitarumpainter lol that is true. I think what Rebecca is saying is that it isn’t gory and even though it’s “violence”, it’s something you’re not afraid of showing your kid
Tom and Jennifer have sex. They have a love scene. It's just done very tastefully.
Lots of bang…for those that like explosions…I can’t believe Tom’s character highjacked a jet from the other side.
Tom Cruise... The Academy has to give you that Best actor for Top Gun: Maverick. Not ONLY the acting in this film but the amount of work put in to make this happen for everyone... literally everyone.... is a breakthrough in the film industry and storytelling.
Can’t agree more ! His contribution to cinema making and dedication to quality/value.
Tom is my favorite actor. Really nice and friendly person! I met him once at work and he didn't care if you were just an IT guy in the same room he's in, he introduces himself and treats you like he knows you. Great guy!
Saw it last night. This exceeded beyond expectations. For sure it’s movie of the year. Nostalgic adrenaline rushing flick.
The best movie i have seen, The storyline the sequences everything is just absolute mindblowing
This movie is the best movie I’ve seen in a LONG time! Top Gun Maverick is amazing so beautifully shot and the storyline is a tear jerker
Totally agree such an emotional movie
Tom literally saved the movie industry and it's association with threatres all around the world. Streaming platforms are here to stay but movies like these have their own place, on a big screen and giving the audience the best thrill they can. Thank you, Tom for everything you do 🙏
it's the way he addresses the presence of other people in the room by making eye contact with them and smiling and talking.
Tom seems like a nice guy he makes sure that he makes eye contact with everyone when he is telling his stories.
Tom is one hell of an actor, stunt man and director!
Saw the film on Thursday and it exceeded my already high expectations. It’s a superb film. I cannot wait to see it again once it officially opens!!
Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm!
These are all nice tings
With all the doom and gloom in the world right now, this was a pure pleasure and emotional to watch
Seen it 3 times in IMAX now! Absolutely one of the Top-5 best movie-going experiences of my life! It’s phenomenal and so damn emotional as well!
totally agree.. watched it 3 time on IMAX as well!
Tell me the ones you liked better?
@@johnnyweismuller6895 Wouldn’t say that I liked them “better”, but those that can compete (for me) are definitely The Dark Knight and The Green Mile. Completely different genres, but they still stuck with me for different reasons, as with Maverick.
I love how Miles is trolling Tom through most of this segment 😆😂
Top Gun Maverick does something I didn't think possible : it exceeds the original. Better story, better cast, better written and way better flying sequences. Totally amazing....
100% the first one was good ,but this one is great 👌 such a great movie 🎥🍿
I don't agree on the cast though. All of the pilot actors in the first movie just had something that pilots in the 2nd movie didn't. Can't describe it correctly. They were just... more cool.
@@DD-vc7fq I agree, the new pilots are kinda pretending to be cool, the old ones were naturally cool.
I haven't gone to a theater in years but I had to watch this twice on the big screen. Almost teared up a lil the first time.
I’ve seen this movie 3 times. It’s a movie you HAVE to see in the theater. Thank you Tom and everyone for making this film .
Waited over 30 years for this movie and it didn’t disappoint, nostalgia at its best! Made for the big screen ✈️
The one thing about Tom is he doesn't do anything by halves. Total commitment. I like how green screen wasn't an option, he wants the real thing, visually looks better for it. Just like that Mission Impossible stunt on the side of the plane.....all or nothing.
Man I got goosebumps so many times during this movie. When dangerzone and anthem were played in the aircraft carrier and bike scene 🤩. The rest of the movie was awesome as well of course. Think I'm going to have to watch it again.
I went to the cinema yesterday with a very good friend of mine to see Top Gun Maverick. We loved every minute of it. It was fantastic & watching it on the big screen was amazing. Well done to Tom. He is a great awesome actor.
One of the best movies I have seen at the cinema. Just wow. I’m going back to watch it again in IMAX. This exceeded my expectations. The hype is REAL!!
I want to go back for the imax version too. I'm still hyped after seeing it 12 hours ago.
“i don’t know how” and a drop of tear came out
the guy is superior without snubbing others. He puts all of him in every film that he do!!!
One of the best sequels ever made. Period.
Tom is that beacon of hope for me. I have seen all his movies growing up. and i always looked up to him. Today he is a force in the industry..a hell of a guy and it makes me proud. Amazing soul. May he be blessed.
Idk what he does in his private life, the man brings it in ever single movie. What a freaking fantastic movie !!!
Jepp… hes absolute great
Tom is one of only a few true action stars !!!! That's why when you go see his movies you believe what he's doing !!!!
this movie is soon fking good . pulled my attention in and dam even had me in my feelings , the story line , the effort. the backstory of filming , the actors , etc. absolutely a deserves Oscar or Emmy
It is always a beautiful sight witnessing someone engrossed in passion about something.
Magnificent movie!
On Sunday I saw a lot of older man and woman (45-65age) watching Topgun 2 at the cinema!and Topgun2 must watch in the 4DX cinema!
When the maintheme played,I held back tears,I can't believe they bring it back.
As a fan I cannot recall a Tom Cruise film I did not enjoy. As an actor, producer, film maker, entertainer, he is surely one of the GOAT's, Greatest of All Time.
Vanilla sky is the only bad film of his i can recall. I couldn't even stay in the theater to finish it.
I hope the Academy Awards appreciate the innovation and artistry that this movie and Cruise brings to film-making
Watched the 86 topgun in 96 and now this masterpiece. Nostalgia all the way. Way to go. There shall never be another tom cruise. Perfection. Watched it on big screen and plan to go and have another rewatch. The man is a legend
Finished watching it in the big scree and it is AMAZING. Tom, thanks for not releasing it in streaming sites. It’s meant for the screen. 👏🏼
“He’s been waiting my entire life to work with me, literally”
😂
Jennifer Connelly is a very underated actress. Yes she won an Oscar for a supporting role but she rarely get a great starring role in a movie while Jennifer Lawrence for some reason always get great roles. She still look goregous after all these years. My first intro to Jennifer was Labryinth and was mesmorized by her eyes.
... and then you saw Hot spot and were mesmorized by her... other parts 😁
A career spanning 30+ years,
$50M net worth (according to internet),
Won an Oscar, Bafta, Golden Globe and a myriad other award wins and nominations.
Id say very few actresses are or have been rated higher. She’s had a remarkable career.
If you haven’t seen House of Sand and Fog……go find it and watch it, she’s amazing.

I just watched it today, brought back so many good memories. Rounded up the grief on Goose nicely. Took me a damn while to realise that Penny is THE penny benjamin 😅
I am not a fan of Tom Cruise or the TopGun film, but I was genuinely impressed with this film. I would highly recommend to anyone who is curious about this film to go see it in IMAX. It was really a great film. Cinema has reached a new milestone with this film
They literally released this movie at the PERFECT time
Simply perfect!!! I've watched it 3 times & it gets better and better. Massively salute you Tom, incredible!!!👊
as someone who went to school for aviation maintenance I REALLY appreciated and LOVED the practical effects!
ALL he cares about is making BADASS movies! and the fact that hes an actual pilot and ACTUALLY Flying makes it that much better!
No one cares.. you're not a pilot.🤣
Haven’t seen a movie in theaters in around 3 years, I’m 25. Saw this twice in theaters bc it was a great cinima experience, definitely recommend
Tom cruise is actually insanely cool aside from the personal stuff. As an actor he is multi talented and way way under appreciated by the new generations
Watched it today, absolutely masterpiece, not just a sequel.. and better and new movie, with amazing sound, image and timing.. its like interstellar on steroids full time.
The voicing is unreal and make you feel truly in the movie the whole time... it will surprise you how good it is.
35 years and I cannot wait for Wednesday. No sequel has meant more to me than this, just hearing the new piano version of the soundtrack makes me emotional.
I’m with you ,going Thursday and soooooooo looking forward to it
I saw it today...it's just....literally the best thing you will see, ever.
We saw this movie yesterday...
I have no words...
Fantastic!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!
6 more hours for me before see it.. Cannot remember being this excited to go to the movies !
So what did you think?
One of the best movie sequels I've ever seen!! The aerial shots from inside the cockpit were incredible! Go see it on the big screen
Top Gun: Maverick is outstanding and worth the wait. Thanks to Tom Cruise, Jerry Bruckhiemer and the entire cast and crew for making this masterpiece for fans of the original Top Gun.
I love Tom Cruise movies! Because he doesn’t fill them with CGI nonsense. He takes the time to train for these flying stunts, and to train other people as well. They are real action movies!
I cried, such nostalgic feelings. I remember being so young when i saw the first one and here we are now, old asf🥲
I love the passion Tom Cruise has for the making of this movie. He is so totally engrossed in the role and its awesome to listen to him talk about what he went through. I am so looking forward to this movie. I think it will be a lot of fun :o)

This movie was amazing. keeping the top gun theme and bringing it to the times. Beautifully done. Great story.
Just watched it an honestly I never was too fussed abt the original but this. Wow. I think it's now one of my all time favourites and I havea new appreciation for the original. I got so emotional it was freakin unreal! A real ride. I need to see it at the cinema again..
Tom is the Godfather of action movie. He saves the whole genre from what’s been ruined by the Marvel universe.
Right
They're different lanes TBH. That's like saying Star Wars is like Heat. Both are fine to exist.

That's like saying Keanu Reeves is the Godfather of action movies because John Wick... If there's a Godfather of action movies, there would be two, Stallone and Schwarzenegger.

Amazing movie, spot on performances from actors and actresses, great story line, wonderful filmmaking! I shed a few tears too, and hid them from my wife 😭😀
What a great movie! Tom cruise and Hollywood totally delivered on this one 👏 Great action, Uber coolness as was expected in the Top Gun sequel! Tom’s dedication makes magic.
I walked out of the cinemas thinking "Wow. Hollywood is back!"
Saw it in the theater, bought the DVD, can't stop watching it. I have great respect for Tom Cruise. He leads with integrity.
Yes Tom is a phenomenal actor and person who dedicates his time on performance all of his own stunts, and owning multiple licenses including a pilots which is my favorite he’s insane🔥
How the hell does TC still look 35 years old?? Such a nice, nice guy and his movies never disappoint. Can’t wait to see this.
