+manco82 True. I listened to this album in its entirety for first time in a dark room with headphones. I was almost traumatised, but in a good way. Very atmospheric and dark and especially this track. Much of the darkness created by this album is imagined by the listener.
I listen to different genres and artists, but it's always Porcupine Tree I come back to. They're mindblowing, immense. And can I say this? Wilson made a HUGE mistake replacing Wesley and Eldwin with other musicians, because this was the best line up ever!
Open your eyes now Hear me out before I lose my mind I've been waiting for hours Let the salt flow, feel my coil unwind Give me a smile please Count the calm and watch my breathing slow Winding me up tease Get inside my head and make it show Gravity eyelids come down Touching your oil skin Slipping hands down past your waist to find I've been waiting for hours Let the salt flow, feel my coil unwind Go to the edge swim Brown the eyes that sleep has rendered blind Gravity eyelids come down Come love so young with your gold arms so I wake her Here's a will that will glow in the dark
By far the best song on the album, I used to listen to it full blast in the car and hurtle down country roads at night in the dark. Truly felt like I was going insane.
Another monster song from the legendary In Absentia album. Just one sample of Steven Wilson’s musical genius. The only bummer for me is that Colin Edwin apparently will MOT be part of PTs new 2022 album. It’s no small thing to move PT forward without Edwin. His amazing bass riffs have always been an integral and indivisible part of this band. I hope they work out any differences and bring him back. What do you guys think? It’s kinda like Van Halen without Michael Anthony and Rush without Geddy Lee.
@PuReNiRvANA1 Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes, I do have more videos from this performance, the songs are: Blackest eyes, Sound of Muzak and Trains. I will put it all up.
Ensoniq VFX. A bit rare to find keyboard. I have two of them, heavy stuff, polyphonic aftertouch and great sounds! (But its only used as a controller in PT). If you want one, look at the siblings VFX-SD or SD1. Those have more reliable keyboards. Note that the sound is a mellotron choir, probably triggered from Reason by the VFX over midi.
He's not really a great guitarist, but he is a 10/10 composer and can come up with really cool riffs and passages. Still, technically speaking he has no notion of scales, chords and a hard time improvising to the point that the improvised-sounding solos of his records are played note by note when played by him.
Love Steven Wilson. I wish he would do another album with PT. I just can't get enough of these guys playing together, Colin Edwin, Richard Barbieri, Gavin Harrison, John Wesley and SW. Although in this video I think Maitland was still in, was he?
Getting into the mind of Steven Wilson, can be a scary place.

Daniel Verberne especially the fact that the album is based aroond serial killers, but more specifically the psychology behind them
.....The Only place where I would feel completely safe.....😌🙏♥️♥️
Yeah
He kinda looks like Ozzy in this vid
More like david sylvian
Stevens' solo work is amazing, but how I wish PT would come off their hiatus and make another record and do a world wide tour.
Aged well
Hey Joe our wish has been granted! 👍😃
@@davidjohnston9481 whaaaa???
Well well well
It's coming!
This is probably one of my top 5 FAVORITE songs by Porcupine Tree
Live version of gravity eyelids, ohhhhhh yeeeeaaaaah.

It's so much fun playing that solo guitar part from the middle! And the singing is fun too!
Wow, watching this really shows how far Steven has grown as a vocalist.
I think he's singing out of tune on purpose.
@@shockomeganot sure about that lol
By far the best song on the album, I used to listen to it full blast in the car and hurtle down country roads at night in the dark. Truly felt like I was going insane.
Awesome, perfect Porcupine Tree at their best!

Absolutely stunning
i was mesmerized by this song. wonderfully black spirit.
Come back Porcupine Tree
Have anyone noticed the handwavings Steven does when singing live?
Looks gangsta!
I still come back to this comment every now and then and still lose my shit. Kudos my man
He's holding his guitar pick between his fingers. He's about as gangster as a little girl.
@@drumgodone9585 They don't call him Steven "Thug" Wilson for nothing.
@@drumgodone9585 Should he hold it with his a*s?
Que pasada Gavin, es increible este tio
This kind of music should win music awards. But in this creepy world, 20th grade crap Greta Van Fleet gets it. Steven is genius!!!!!!

Sounds better live. Porcupine Tree at their artistic height and as a full band. The latest release pales in comparison.
listing this song and dying inside
Beautiful song. Thanks for the post!!!! Been looking for a live version of this!
Prog metal song masterpiece!

All the songs are awesome, thanks SW for all your creativity wooooooow!!!
The best band of the world!!
Thank you so much for posting this. Love it.
The people behind, mute, static of pure ecstasy

Amazingly good
I love SW's references to Radiohead. "Gravity Eyelids," "listening to The Bends," etc.
??
Steven is so underrated as a guitarist. What a beast

His handwavings actually kind of make me think of The Penguin's hands from Batman Returns :P
Awesome

Nope, it was Gavin. He is an astounding musician.... they all are. :-)
Well, your wish has come true!
Masterpiece
In the Get All You Deserve dvd, he does it a lot! :)
John Wesley was probably very recent on the live lineup.
Great song - thanks for posting
