I been in the area where Ige’s is couple times, but didn’t know about them being there. I know now!!! The katsu looked 🔥🔥. And them fried chicken wings… Oh boy 😋😋😋. Between a shake and a malt, I’ll take the malt. I remember the days when I used a road map to look up directions. Thank goodness for google maps. But I know what you mean Amanda. It can be annoying not to be able to see what the place looks like cause google doesn’t drive there. But super cool that they have hiking trails now. Was able to hike up Coco Head. I went there today and got the roast pork which I’m saving for tomorrow (Good Friday) and the catch of the day which was Ono and chow fun. The chow fun has meat so didn’t eat yet. I forgot to get gravy all over too.

You guys should try K&K in Kailua by island snow the shrimp fried rice with lobster sauce and spicy chicken just like the old Alice chicken. No one has done a review on this place yet

What cracks me up about Google Maps in Hawaii is the pronunciation of Hawaiian words. Ige's looked really ono. As for the stadium place, I'd rather get Korean fried chicken.
Good you grew up eating beef stew at home! I was waving signs during an election period and we were served beef stew. Wasn't bad. Wasn't good either, lacked that something special. I was well pizzed since the beef stew was home cooking. The nerve. The larger insult was that it wasn't a lack of effort. They just didn't know how. Some day elaborate on 'mac salad.' I would only serve a guest potato salad never mac salad. I realize it's economics with mac salad at restaurants. But people get the wrong idea about mac salad and probably think they're doing people a favor or nostalgic by making mac salad for a gathering.
Beef stew is great with Laulau, but you know what's even better? Ketchup!! Really. I know that the laulau purists are getting ready to type something nasty about now...😂 Malt shake has malt powder. Kind of like Ovaltine or malted milk balls (Whoppers).

Malts have malted milk powder in them, which adds a very specific flavor. If you’ve ever had Whoppers candy, those are malt flavored.
