I know that sc fi has plenty cool stuff, but i' simply not a big fan, i'm more rocky balboa guy:)) But there's something really special about predator and alien, the cast, score, everything is perfect.
Prey is really good, but my only issues are that they focused solely on Naru and her dog, the others had no personality and were there to boost her and/or die. They showed the Pred way to soon and to much, and I am not a fan of the redesign of it's face. For me Prey ranks 4th after P1, P2 and Predators with AvP 1 and 2 being 5th and 6th.

I think my favorite thing about the movie is the fact that Kevin Peter Hall was in the suit. As a kid when I saw it I just didn't put two and two together that there was a human being inside the suit. When I grew up and started researching the movie, I was like wow he was enormous.
A fact I thought would be mentioned but wasn't is that Arnold and Jesse Ventura starred in 2 movies together in the 80's: Predator AND The Running Man. Or, that Arnold and Bill Duke also did 2 movies together: Predator and Commando.
I heard that originally Billy was meant to have an epic fight with the predator on the bridge but they thought it would make little of Arnie's ending fight so it was cut shame I'd love to see that cut
There was a gym for the cast to use. Jesse Ventura would always try to get in earlier than Ah-nold. Jesse even started pouring water on himself to simulate sweat so when Ah-nold did arrive, he would think that Jesse was getting even more workout time.

I actually got to know Sonny towards the end of his life. He lived in the motel behind the restaurant I managed. He was in very poor health and had lost his legs to diabetes. Basically a shell of his Predator self. He was such an awesome guy tho. He had some absolutely incredible stories as he had lived enough for 3 lifetimes. He'd done and seen so much it was unreal. It's true that you never wanna meet your heroes. It's just so sad to see the way people age.
Without the cheapshots I usually make mention of- Jesse Ventura was only carrying a vehicle mounted weapon because of a guy from G I Joe the original cartoon which gave all these "super soldier" movies life and his name was Roadblock.

Not wanting to watch it over again I did notice that they got a few things wrong. The actor who played Billy had the bodyguards not Blain (Jesse). Dutch never had the machete, that was also Billy. It wasn't 2018's The Predator that first said the name, it was 1990's Predator 2 that had Peter Keyes calling it Predator.
He had a machete in the first quarter of the movie, he used it to throw it at a guerilla impaling him to a post and said “stick around”. He literally dashed away giggling, satisfied with his one liner that he actually wanted homie to stick around with his machete. 😢 so deep
I don't think it's a case of moviegoers 'missing' things in the film. It's more (according to this documentary) that they either weren't in the film or were items no viewer could have known. How can a viewer tell how heavy a machete is just by looking at it?

Its actually a corky 80s Over the Top Action Movie that slowly becomes a horror movie and then goes full Survival-Action in the last third, thats why its so outstanding and still one of the best Movies ever made. But I totally agree with Predator 2 and Predators. I never understood why these movies got so much hate considering they delivered everything a Sequel has to deliver.

I really don't think you realize that the movie is called The Predator, it refers to Dutch as being the one that ends up preying on the Alien. Dutch is the Predator. Just like the movie Frankenstein, people still think the monster's name is Frankenstein but the mad scientist is Frankenstein.

It was never hot during the filming of predator it was filmed in the fabricated jungle in a very cold climate that's why you noticed that the leaves are gray when they're crawling through the forest . If you notice that they were constantly moving a bunch of artificial plants bought from garden ridge pottery around in every scene they are the same plants throughout the movie because there were no greenery and the forest because it was cold and in the winter when they was filming

his face is lit with an extra key light. I've always wondered about it as it's clearly not meant to be a natural light source but otherwise his face would have looked to dark to see his expressions.
I don't agree that The Predator was "abysmal ". It was no Predator, but I loved the characters and the comical back and forth. It was a different kind of movie than Predator. The dialog was well worth the watch

his face is lit with an extra key light. I've always wondered about it as it's clearly not meant to be a natural light source but otherwise his face would have looked to dark to see his expressions.

I don't agree that The Predator was "abysmal ". It was no Predator, but I loved the characters and the comical back and forth. It was a different kind of movie than Predator. The dialog was well worth the watch
