What I liked from good guy Ben Kneesovertoes preaching is a single legged hyperextensions. Helped me a ton alleviate twisting in the catch! Surprisingly hard to set it up, especially with added weights.
Thanks to your mobility videos: 425x3 front squat with not a full hand but completely closed grip. Just directed an alum from BC football who was having mobility issues as well.
I remember when I was doing shoulder shrugs at 765. As I was putting down the bar, somebody called my name, and it was just my head looking up through my collarbone out of place. But did not stop me from finishing my shoulder workout.
Rubish extensions, basically back extensions on a 45 degree bench using a barbell in front on the ground. Slowly add wt and do a couple of sets after deadlifts. Very underrated movements. It's only a short range of movement but you can feel it working the lower back and hamstrings especially when you start using reasonable wts for you. Pete Rubish often mentions this assistance exercise to getting his deadlift to over 900lbs.
You are my fucking hero!! I love this shit. Im old and broken now but i coach kids every week. Everyday we wrestle we touch steel. Please start making wrestling content with a straight bar and bumper plates on the mat. Work power lifting into wrestling practice. After push ups and situps rip 10 cleans and keep moving. Everything you teach requires a gym. Combine lifting and wrestling together.
Can pulling strength be a limiting factor or in the clean? I can front squat around 170kg. But only clean about 130kg. I notice any weight over 120kg the 1st pull feels heavy as shit. It throws me off a lot.
As an old man trying to get strong again, this is great information. I don't know if I will ever oly but the partial movements will hopefully help my deadlifts dramatically.
Yeah the positioning of your spine should never move. If you want a stronger pull you need stronger quads, and a stronger core. Even a stronger grip would help

I've heard that this optimize shoulder hypertrophy by isolating the muscle
thanks for posting
love your videos!!
One thing I'd advocate in the low rack pause squat- use a narrower stance than your normal squat- akin to your deadlift foot stance...
Thanks
Great advice as always. I'm new to Olympic lifting and find your videos give great cues; thanks!
Been having trouble with movements like the deadlift and wanting to get into oly lifts, so taking in as much info as I can 🙌

Where does Dane find his t-shirts?
What I'd people like myself have facet joint syndrome, should we continue lifting with our back and not brace our core?
great video
@garage strength can i wear a belt for my 3 working sets of 5 reps?
For the pin squats, should we base the weight, especially when starting out, on our best snatch/C&J?
