    Xander... take the days just one at a time, hold on to your dreams and never let them go, remember how special you are... and so much more. Take Care and Health is important!

    its quite intimidating to feel like the odd one out being gay i guess. its annoying to have to come out to people all the time

    First hostel experience was in Cebu shared room with an american guy, 2 aussie lads and a Filipino. T was an amazing stay. We bonded so well because we pretty much arrived at the same time. Would definitely recommend hostel stay to backpackers! Don’t expect for luxury accommodation and amenities though and be respectful to your roommates FIRST RULE!

      Unfortunately a rule that isn't always followed! I'm always flabbergasted when people are inconsiderate in the rooms...luckily doesn't happen all the time. I love staying in hostel!

    Hey, I usually hosted for people on Couchsurfing, not on Asia, but in Brazil. Im from Manaus and I received a gay guy in my house. For me was amazing I was used to see many straight guys asking for a place, but, a gay guy was my first. We spend a greeeeeaaaat week together and he even come back to my house in his way back. Of course we became friends. We don’t see many gay guys travelling solo indeed, like a root explorer but there are spread in the world, some few. I have noticed it also and it is great see you sharing your experience. Good luck (this my first video here)

    I stayed at a hostel in NY. I would never do it again, but I will probably have to cause it is cheaper.

      Why, did you not like it? I know hostel/backpacking culture is very different in the US but can't wait to experience it for myself. I would've thought NYC would be a good place for a hoste

    I know this is probably a ridiculous question but what if you snore really loud? Do they kick you out? This is a serious question

    I know that for me at least, I’m a little hesitant about backpacking as a gay man because I’m not always sure if the culture of the area I’m in is going to be gay-friendly or at least tolerant of sorts. I’m not saying they have to embrace me with arms-wide-open but heaven forbid anything bad happens, y’know? Ironically enough I’m planning to backpack later this year through some potentially sketchy areas, but I know that’s it for me

      Honestly I haven't had any problems at all! And I make no effort to hide who I am. Locals aren't really bothered by you as such and in most the countries they're just happy to have the tourism (providing you're a respectful tourist) a lot of the places I've been in Asia are actually quite gay friendly. The worst I've had is some annoyingly ignorant comments and "gay jokes" from other travellers. They soon get put in their place...

      I can tell you: come to California! Is a good start because people that I meet in hostels here are really friendly.

      @HotGirlXander  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yeah that one in front of the school right? the english guy that I met on the boat was staying there iI was told it is affordable there than Spin but daahhling its lovely and you are correct most of the people I have met and now friends are at the hostel. Not that I caught or heard someone having sex whilst staying in a hostel but Ive heard some stories from people in Coron who stayed in a hostel hahahaha. I mean I think its fine its human nature but dont make it like a porn that everyone can hear the deed hahaha.

    How long is your backpacking trip? I’m debating on backpacking Southeast Asia or south/Central America. I’ve been trying to find gay TH-cam backpackers so it’ll help with my research but I’ve only found like 2 or 3

      I've been on the move for about 4 months now, I think at least another 2-3 but maybe more....I'm DYING to do central/south america!!! maybe next year....There's not many gay youtube backpackers at the moment, maybe you could start!

    The one time I tried to book a youth hostel, I came across a review that warned me about people writing on the wall with poop... Kind of put me off of going to youth hostels.
    Been to another hostel once, which was alright for the few days I was there 😜

      @HotGirlXander  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh you are such a snob what's wrong with a bit of wall poop???? Jeeeeeeez. Hahaha honestly though, 4 months in hostels and only very select few have been uncomfortable for one reason or another....give it another go!!!

    Im gay and was travelling alone in canada so decided to try a hostel, i had a private room but it was all too much of a shock to the system. So after that, just hotels. Maybe it was a grubby hostel but fmd, i must of picked the worst skid row hostel. Haha, love ya videos.

    Come to Mexico honey. I've met lots of gay folks. Ladies & gentlemen both. Myself, I traveled here with my gay friend. Also, don't assume a guy is straight because he's traveling with a female. Many gals are traveling with their best buddy. Turn your gaydar on and let your freak flag fly. Best of luck, young man

    Get a easy job first , make decent money , I can offer much much better service than Latinos , let's do it first , and then I can work as digital Nomad , no stress , and then go out to meet local women

    I stay in hostels but I am no longer gay anymore. My family said that if I travel more I will find my true self and no longer be confused.
