Fun fact: when Peter Pan (the play) was first staged, Tinker Bell was a special effect to make it look like a little ball of light was flying around. As a joke, they listed a non-existent actress, Jenny Wren, as “playing” the role. But the Inspector of Taxes didn’t know that, and launched an investigation into “Jenny Wren”’s tax evasion.
That's so interesting! What's cool about that name they used "Jenny wren" is that during WW1 and 2 the British government started the "WRNS" or 'women's royal naval service' to give women a way to fight for their country. "Jenny wren" was what the male service members often used as a term of endearment (not the most welcome one I'm sure) when referring to female service members who worked for the WRNS. Considering that the story of Peter pan usually takes place during that time makes it really interesting that they put thought into a silly alias for an unvoiced character.
@@archey656 Jenny Wren is mentioned in "The Wild Rose Fairy" by Cecily Mary Barker: I am the queen whom everybody knows: I am the English Rose; As light and free as any Jenny Wren, As dear to Englishmen; As joyous as a Robin Redbreast’s tune, I scent the air of June; My buds are rosy as a baby's cheek; I have one word to speak, One word which is my secret and my song, ’Tis “England, England, England” all day long.
I wish the Disney Fairies Franchise would make a return one day. It was so much fun and such an interesting concept for Tinkerbell’s origins. Her fairies friends in the franchise were iconic too.
2003’s version of Tinker Bell really stands out for me because of how much personality the actress adds to the character through her facial expressions and movements. All of her energetic expressions are also a great contrast to Wendy, who is definitely more calm and collected.

Fr. Tbh they should've featured the fairies in the remake if they really want diversity. Casting a black actor as Tinkerbell doesn't do it justice because there's already another black fairy in the Disney Fairy universe.
Sadly, it probably won’t happen. The last Fairy franchise film was released in 2015 and the division of the company that made these films was shut down in 2018, so they likely won’t be making any more.

Loved this list and video! Thanks for sharing :) Personally, as much as I love the pixie hollow fairies movies and books and computer game haha, I always always wished Tinkerbell would have been moodier/crankier/brattier in that series. She has her moments for sure, but I felt they held back a lot since she was the main character. I liked her flaws, they make her fun in the original movie and why I think she was so memorable along with her super cute design. And this is just me gushing now, but I love when she’s angry and her whole light turns red, so cute!
My only gripe about the 2023 Peter and Wendy is that they had different actors portraying Mr. Darling and Captain Hook. Traditionally, they were always played by the same actoe
"You know that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you. That’s where I’ll be waiting."
my personal bias would've switched #3 and #1 around, mostly because I grew up with those movies and because I loved Pixie Hollow and playing the online game and everything. I wish there was some sort of conclusion, since asking for solo films for all of the fairies, like there was with Fawn, is too much to ask for. I agree that I think a segue into how she and Peter became acquainted would've been nice because we got Hook's origin story and yet nothing about Peter/how he got to know Tink and also anything about the Lost Boys. Having that conclusion of sorts would've been great but I'll take what we got
thinking more about this and her friendship with the other fairies is so strong that it makes me wonder how things would've turned out after she met Peter and chose to go adventuring with him. I know it would've made things super emotional amongst the fairies and Tink since they're so close, almost like sisters. A video on Pixie Hollow/Disney Fairies would be great! I love your videos, they shed light onto things that I don't really think about a whole lot/don't have much time to look into, and you manage to put down a lot of info and history in a nice and succinct manner.
I love the tinkerbell movies that were made in the 2000's&2010's I agree that we should have gotten at least one more movie with that franchise they were all so creative and really knew how to scratch that fantasy itch for me as a child/teen
Hook is so nostalgic, I love that movie! I also love how Tinkerbell's movies give her more personality, and the first one is still my favorite because again = nostalgia.
I know there are rumors of Jennifer Lawrence portraying Tinker Bell in a live action solo film and not only do I feel it would be a good role for her comedically, but since Tinker Bells story isn’t as known and clear to the general public it could be very interesting.
As someone who grew up loving Winx Club, I'm laughing at the thought of those who aren't familiar with it trying to keep up with the brief description given for WoW's plot. And how off the rails it truly is. Her design is beautiful though! And the OG series will always be iconic. Thanks for giving it some recognition
Thank you!! When I was like 8 or so I saw a couple episodes of Peter Pan and the Pirates. I didn’t remember the name but I always remembered a couple scenes from the show, now I can go back and rewatch them!
"Jane is a pretty unlikable protagonist" if tinkerbell (who i love) gets to get away with shitty behaviour cuz she is a child dealing with her emotions then jane, a child living during a war and having to be more mature, gets to be mean sometimes too i actually think it's great how they clash with eachother and grow from it, they both did mean things but in the end have to apologize and work together
Hook's Tinkerbell outfit was also like that because she was filmed on green screen and as it needed a lot of incrustation they needed an outfit that was, not to big, not to tight, not flowy, no reflection, no little pieces, no green/blue colour, no white for the wings etc... A nightmare for a good design. Also they called her tinker nightmare or whatever but she was alone on green set for weeks sometime without Spielberg, her husband cheating on her was public, she was harassed by paparazzi, etc.. She said that Robin Williams was saving her time and moral during the production.
19:54 we actually almost get the origin story for PeterPan in the first Tinkerbell movie, but John Lasseter said that he "won't support the Tinkerbell movie if PeterPan would show up" . Fun fact, we also almost get PeterPan origin story in an upcoming Tinkerbell movie right after the Legend of The Neverbeast, but it got cancelled since the dvd sales are declining & Disney Toons studio closing.. There goes our PeterPan origin story 😭
@Flyboy1953 i think John Lasseter said that Peter would overshine over Tinkerbell, since this is her movie. But still, the original script (Tinkerbell and the Ring of Belief) WAS SO MUCH BETTER than the one we ended up getting.. And Peter's role was so minor also.. I really hate how John Lasseter cancelled that movie & make the writers rewrite 90% of the script 😭
Thank you for making this fun video! I was having a lot of work anxiety today because I am new. I was looking for something to listen to while making dinner and your tinker bell video popped up. It helped me relax and have fun while cooking.
The 2023 tink looked more like Iridessa. Something Disney could have done was have multiple fairies in the Peter and Wendy movie. Tie the fairy franchise with the petter pan movie.
Please do that video about the Disney Fairies franchise 👀🙏💖🧚 I heard they had a final movie about her meeting Peter in the works before it was cancelled.
From my understanding regarding the Tinker Bell and the Disney Fairies franchise, yes the franchise was meant to tell about Tinker Bell's origin story but also tell how Tink and Peter met on the franchise's finale. This never happened, most likely bc of the most current films from the franchise didn't quite perform as well compared to the previous counterparts. Is quite sad because it was basically one of the reasons why the franchise was made but also bc I am sure fans are eager to know how the two characters met and want to see the chemistry (whether romantic or platonic) between the two characters that we didn't get to see from the Peter Pan movies. Also, I am not sure how invested you are in the lost media community but I wanted to mention that there is this lost piece of media of what the first Tinker Bell movie could have been before its official release. This TH-camr by the channel name of sarahserif made a very informative video about it so I recommend watching her video. You can also talk to members of the lost media community regarding the film.
My favourite Tink will still forever be Gail Carson Levine's version from the books. It properly ties in the Neverland fairies to Peter Pan's story and has him make a couple cameos without making him the focus of the story. The books portray Tink as passionate, confident, and brave while still being hotheaded, moody, and dramatic. Some of my favourite characters that don't appear in any movies are from these books.
Fun fact about Peter pan: When JM Barrie died, he left the rights of Peter pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, the biggest hospital in the UK for treating and caring for sick children. Since 1929, they've been receiving royalties from Peter pan (though it's gotten a bit complicated now due to different copyright laws in different territories and the book entering public domain) Disney had to sign a animation agreement with the hospital to animate Peter Pan, and had to give profit to the hospital. (However, Disney "forgot" the part about profit from merchandise - still a new concept in 1939 - therefore refuses to pay the hospital anything which is earnt from toys, DVDs, spin off books, clothing etc 💀💀💀)
The 2003 peter pan is also my favorite. The stage play is one of the first professional theater productions I saw as a child and peter flew into the crow and threw confetti on us
Peter Pan Return to Neverland was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I always really liked Jane. Maybe something about her just felt really real and relatable to me. She didn't feel like the usual stock "girl personality" options of girly girl or sporty tomboy. I still love the movie and the character dearly. I even had the same haircut as her in high school! (A subconscious aesthetic choice I didn't realize right away). Just wanted to put a little love in the comment section for her. Maybe she's poorly written and my nostalgia has blinded me to it, but she's just a very grounded kid trying to cope with trauma by helping her family. She's protective to the point that she doesn't let herself relax or participate in "unpractical" things despite being just a kid. A bit spiteful towards fantasy and imagination because she feels like it betrayed her by not being real and being so unlike her reality of war (until being whisked away to Neverland and coming out of it with the hope she was so scared to have before). I felt like she had depth and a good character arc. I was just very surprised to hear her called unlikeable, but I know not everyone has the same likes.
The 1924 Peter Pan movie is way more American than the Disney version, because the Darlings are literally from America. John and Michael say they would rather die Americans than become pirates, and they raise the American flag on the ship after defeating Hook.
oh i would love if you made a video about the disney fairies franchise, especially if you talked about the graphic novels 💘💘💘 as a tween i truly loved them, and the character designs are so incredibly beautiful and charming (they are at the very least better than the ones in the movies)

Season 3 (first half) was my favorite one of once upon a time. I love the dark atmosphere of Neverland and that Peter Pan was a villain and Tinkerbell lived there in the woods and trying to survive. I wish she had more scenes with Peter, Hook and Wendy, maybe to show how she arrived in Neverland. But I wish there were more Neverland backstory-scenes in general
please please PLEASE do a video on the Tinker Bell universe! The entire universe is absolutely amazing, with so many details and exciting characters - even the costume design is on point. I would LOVE a Disney Fairies video. Would love to hear you talk about the character designs, particularly the seasonal designs.
Loved this list and video! Thanks for sharing :)
Personally, as much as I love the pixie hollow fairies movies and books and computer game haha, I always always wished Tinkerbell would have been moodier/crankier/brattier in that series.
Bro the Disney Fairies movies were my SHIT as a kid!
my personal bias would've switched #3 and #1 around, mostly because I grew up with those movies and because I loved Pixie Hollow and playing the online game and everything.
Oh may god I'd die for a disney fairies video from you!
DEFINITELY INTERESTED IN A DISNEY FAIRIES FRANCHISE VIDEO THANK YOU QUEEN
Damn imagine getting mom zoned by the guy you like 💀
😂
Happens more than you think. Think of men who use their wive as a mom; she cleans up after him, looks after him like a child etc
@@eriyalOr women who use their husband as a dad.
Fix everything she breaks, teaches her stuff she suppose to know, etc...
I'd absolutely love a deep dive into the 2008-15 Tinkerbell films. They were my favourite.
Thank you!! When I was like 8 or so I saw a couple episodes of Peter Pan and the Pirates. I didn’t remember the name but I always remembered a couple scenes from the show, now I can go back and rewatch them!
I didn’t even know Peter Pan was originally a play and then a novel. I thought the novel was the original
Yes yes yes! I'd love a full video on the Disney fairies
“This is MY opinion…just don’t be an asshole about it.” preach!👌🏽
"Jane is a pretty unlikable protagonist" if tinkerbell (who i love) gets to get away with shitty behaviour cuz she is a child dealing with her emotions then jane, a child living during a war and having to be more mature, gets to be mean sometimes too
i actually think it's great how they clash with eachother and grow from it, they both did mean things but in the end have to apologize and work together
I would love to hear your take on the animated franchise:")) it's such a huge part of my childhood
we NEED a disney fairies dedicated video
I would LOVE you to do a video on the Tinkerbell movies! ❤ Some of my childhood favourites, they're so underrated!
YESS PLEASE make a video about the Tinkerbell movies😭🙏🏼
omg i would love if you did a deep dive video of the disney fairies lore. i was obsessed with the books, movies and the online game when i was a kid!
Fairies are my absolute favorite magical entities, sobseeing these videos about them make me so happy 🧚♀️ 🧚♂️
I’m still obsessed with the 2003 version. The best.
I’m so happy you covered World of Winx!
It made me so happy to see World Of Winx's Tinker Bell on this list 🥺🥺
19:54 we actually almost get the origin story for PeterPan in the first Tinkerbell movie, but John Lasseter said that he "won't support the Tinkerbell movie if PeterPan would show up"
.
Please make a video on the Tinker Bell movies, especially the scrapped first one which was gonna be called "Ring of Belief"
I was literally just thinking that now that I'm older I'm finding Captain Hook attractive in the 2003 movie right before you said it
2003 Peter Pan is sooo comforting to me. In the UK they would play it on live TV almost every week when I was a kid
Another vote for a video on the Disney Tinker Bell & Fairies franchise. Yes, please! 🧚♂️🧚🧚♀️
PLEASE make a fairies franchise video!! the movies, books, online game and DS game was my entire childhood!!!!
Fun fact about Peter pan:
When JM Barrie died, he left the rights of Peter pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, the biggest hospital in the UK for treating and caring for sick children. Since 1929, they've been receiving royalties from Peter pan (though it's gotten a bit complicated now due to different copyright laws in different territories and the book entering public domain)
Disney had to sign a animation agreement with the hospital to animate Peter Pan, and had to give profit to the hospital.
(However, Disney "forgot" the part about profit from merchandise - still a new concept in 1939 - therefore refuses to pay the hospital anything which is earnt from toys, DVDs, spin off books, clothing etc 💀💀💀)
For me, the best Tink is always going to be the one from 2008. It was the first time she had an actual voice, and Mae Whitman played her perfectly.
Once upon a time, disney fairies, and world of winx are my favorite they’re my childhood and theyre glorious
My Favorite and My Ranking One is the Disney Fairies Franchise 🥰 i love the stories about Tinkerbell with her fairy friends 😊
Omg pleaseeeee! We need a Disney Fairies breakdown! 🫨🫨🫨
The 1924 Peter Pan movie is way more American than the Disney version, because the Darlings are literally from America. John and Michael say they would rather die Americans than become pirates, and they raise the American flag on the ship after defeating Hook.
is that the one anna may wong is in? haven't seen it but want too
@@heatherparisi8250 yes it is.
oh i would love if you made a video about the disney fairies franchise, especially if you talked about the graphic novels 💘💘💘 as a tween i truly loved them, and the character designs are so incredibly beautiful and charming (they are at the very least better than the ones in the movies)
i really love your ranking videos, i always rewatching it because its super entertaining, can you make more of these type of videos please😄and yes i wanna see the video about disney fairies tinkerbell and friends version, that would be amazing
I'd love a Disney fairies video!
There's also the possibility of including the original Disney Fairies magazine and books, which have different characters
I’d love to se you do a video about the Disney Fairies franchise!
Love this! And YES PLEASE do Tinker Bell fairy franchise! 😍😍😍
PLEASE make a video about the 2008 fairy movie franchise! I grew up watching it and would love some analysis videos
Despite being a massive fairy fan myself, I've always DESPISED Tinker Bell (both in the J.M. Barrie novel and the 2D Disney films). The only exception would be the CGI Disney Fairies films. Like a lot of other viewers, I would like to see you do a deep dive of the Disney Fairies franchise.
I’d love a video on the Tinkerbell movies!! I watched all of them so many times growing up 🥰
I would love a video about The Disney Fairies! I love those movies I really thought we would get 1 more 😭

Tessa I think you know we would all be very very interested in a Disney Fairies video
I’m so glad you ranked 2003 Tinkerbell so high, that adaptation is my favorite movie EVER
YES please cover the disney movie series! Unfortunately, I liked all of Tinkerbell's friends more than Tinkerbell herself lol. But please talk about the books too because I was obsessed with those! Especially the characters that aren't in the movies like Rani.
