HEY - retired carpenter/cabinet maker here. just a heads up, the exposed counter top edge on the single cabinet should be sealed or laminated because if the MDF gets wet, it will swell and ruin the top. Keep up the good work :)

Looks fab Matt. Your wife was definitely right about adding flowers it brings it all together. I’m thinking about turning my upstairs storage room into a fish room to do more breeding. I love raising fry. I had a creaky floorboard that was under the laminate floor, it got on my nerves so much, that I hit nail’s into it in multiple places…😅worked a treat! I haven’t heard a creak since, but if you look close enough you can see that tops of the nails in the laminate flooring lol 😆 Can’t wait to see what you add into your tanks.

I'm very excited to see your fish room. My favorite MD videos are his collabs with you. His artistry combined with your fish and plant knowledge make for very informative and enjoyable content. I'm excited to apply what I learn from the two of you to my own "fish room". I've gotta say that multi tank syndrome is a true thing. I returned home from an internship at a medical marijuana grow facility to find that my young adult daughters had acquired around 6 nano aquariums inhabited by bettas and struggling live plants. I began to apply what I had been learning about plants to the tanks, hoping to improve the conditions for the inhabitants. I quickly learned that most of the tanks were too small, so I invested in some 5 and 10 gallons and a few plants. Now, after about 15 months, I've got more than a dozen thriving ecosystems in my home, and I'm so excited to learn so much more. Congratulations on your new fish room, and I can't wait to learn more and more!

They’re like an even more active, slightly elongated cory and they breed quite readily. They don’t even eat their own fry because their mouths are so itty bitty. Wonderful little fish!
Instead of curtains consider the darkening film on the windows. Can’t wait to see what you do with the tanks. Bettas, gouramis, etc been done. I’d like to see a scape with a nano fish you haven’t talked about yet.

It would be fun if created a dedicated test aquarium. Testing different combination of fish and plant growing. It would also keep you channel filled with new content.

The plant panels on the walls look amazing!! You say they came from IKEA? Also, put some talcum powder on that creaky floorboard. Push the power down into the joints and it should quiet up for you.

That's what I'm thinking of getting for my new tank, along with some cardinals. What are your thoughts on these tanks having lights that aren't dimmable or height adjustable (in terms of algae growth)?

Ricefish I've heard can do without a heater in the right climate, but some education about the temp ranges that different kinds of fish (plus other aquatic life such as plants & cleanup crew) thrive in would be so helpful. Yeah I was unsure when I looked at them but really like how it turned out. Shrimp tank is definitely on the cards! No remodeling just moved all the stuff into other rooms.

Looks great Matt. I know its a bit on the boring side to some but i think it would be cool to do a big mixed neon tetra school (standards, green, black, glowlights) with all their flashes and colors would look amazing in my opinion.
Loving the new walls. The plant panels look great. Would love to see a breeding tank in the mix for info on how to breed something other than livebreeders which do it themselves. Quite frankly any type of tank you do increases the general knowledge of the fishkeeping trade though. Keep it up.

The first tank looks the biggest, I think, so maybe some nano fish that school nicely? If there's room for them anyhow. I'm not sure what else I'd like to see. I only currently have a regular 5 gallon tank, so I'm not even sure what I can safely keep in it yet. It's well planted and scaped, maybe? I tried to do a Matt and or MD scape, but failed a bit, I think..LOL. But I like it none the less. Anyway, I'm very excited for you, and us of course, for your fish room, and whatever you do, I'm sure it will be fun. I don't mind hearing the squeeky floor, makes me feel at home! :) Anyhow, love what you've done so far, wall plants, lights in them, that are awesome and Katies idea for the flowers as well. I love this, I’ve always wanted a fish room myself when I can finally afford my own place in the future. This just gave me some inspiration for how it would look especially the plant wall with led lights in them. Can’t wait for the tanks to be scaped and stocked. Looking forward to it Matt! Keep it up

Ok, I need a fish room, lol. I have a BIG 3 season porch, problem is, the pellet stove out there does nothing in New England Winters, too cold, it's not a heated porch. I have a small stable that we were finishing up for our laser machine. It's almost all insulated and has a bigger pellet stove for heat, still too cold, but that's where I'd love to set up after getting more insulation and walls up, plus it's a cement floor that I can drain water right out into the lawn and garden. Dreamer lol. I wish, it's still too cold when it hit below zero temps. I'm trying to figure out a spot in my living room for a few tanks. Great job FS Matt!
Love the fish room Matt and those wall lights are 👌 you’ll go a long way with your channel, like MD you have bags of charisma and personality 😊 This is a bit left field but how about setting up the Scaper 60 as a supper simple reef tank with easy none demanding corals (softies) and a few fish and critter. As long as you keep the bio load low, I reckon you could run it on an internal freshwater filter and a weekly bucket water change.
Chocolate gouramis (Sphaerichthys osphromenoides), never see those anywhere and what I remember from the early 2000, those used to be so difficult to keep.
Well done Matt known you for years through the shop helped me establish my tanks with your help and knowledge of fish. Keep up the good work going from strength to strength and helping novices get into this wonderful hobby.

Shrimp tank is definitely on the cards! No remodeling just moved all the stuff into other rooms.

I would love to see more natural style scapes like biotopes, some tannings in the water, hard scape only tanks stuff like that 🤷♂️ wild bettas would be amazing, dwarf cichlids, any of the air breathing fish loads of amazing little fish!! What about Pygmy sun fish ? So excited!!🎉

Great video, Matt! Suggesting a scape for the Halloween season around the corner. A Glass Cat tank. Something dark and spooky would be really cool and fitting for the fish!

Looks great Matt. I know its a bit on the boring side to some but i think it would be cool to do a big mixed neon tetra school (standards, green, black, glowlights) with all their flashes and colors would look amazing in my opinion.
Loving the new walls. The plant panels look great. Would love to see a breeding tank in the mix for info on how to breed something other than livebreeders which do it themselves. Quite frankly any type of tank you do increases the general knowledge of the fishkeeping trade though. Keep it up.

The first tank looks the biggest, I think, so maybe some nano fish that school nicely? If there's room for them anyhow. I'm not sure what else I'd like to see. I only currently have a regular 5 gallon tank, so I'm not even sure what I can safely keep in it yet. It's well planted and scaped, maybe? I tried to do a Matt and or MD scape, but failed a bit, I think..LOL. But I like it none the less. Anyway, I'm very excited for you, and us of course, for your fish room, and whatever you do, I'm sure it will be fun. I don't mind hearing the squeeky floor, makes me feel at home! :) Anyhow, love what you've done so far, wall plants, lights in them, that are awesome and Katies idea for the flowers as well. It needed a womans touch! Excited to see where you take us now, Matt! Thank you!

I love this, I’ve always wanted a fish room myself when I can finally afford my own place in the future. This just gave me some inspiration for how it would look especially the plant wall with led lights in them. Can’t wait for the tanks to be scaped and stocked. Looking forward to it Matt! Keep it up

Ok, I need a fish room, lol. I have a BIG 3 season porch, problem is, the pellet stove out there does nothing in New England Winters, too cold, it's not a heated porch. I have a small stable that we were finishing up for our laser machine. It's almost all insulated and has a bigger pellet stove for heat, still too cold, but that's where I'd love to set up after getting more insulation and walls up, plus it's a cement floor that I can drain water right out into the lawn and garden. Dreamer lol. I wish, it's still too cold when it hit below zero temps. I'm trying to figure out a spot in my living room for a few tanks. Great job FS Matt!

Love the fish room Matt and those wall lights are 👌 you’ll go a long way with your channel, like MD you have bags of charisma and personality 😊 This is a bit left field but how about setting up the Scaper 60 as a supper simple reef tank with easy none demanding corals (softies) and a few fish and critter. As long as you keep the bio load low, I reckon you could run it on an internal freshwater filter and a weekly bucket water change.

Chocolate gouramis (Sphaerichthys osphromenoides), never see those anywhere and what I remember from the early 2000, those used to be so difficult to keep.
That's a great idea, they have certainly become easier to keep now we know more.
Well done Matt known you for years through the shop helped me establish my tanks with your help and knowledge of fish. Keep up the good work going from strength to strength and helping novices get into this wonderful hobby.
