The video is excellent and I was able to pull the entire assembly apart. Once I had everything apart, I realized the shaft (just below the threads) was extremely rusted and out of round. If I changed the seal, would it hold water or is a water tight seal dependant upon the shaft being clean and round? Thank you in advance.

cantbeatelite , just curious if you got the seal to work on the worn shaft without replacing the motor?

Wayne Barrett Yes... actually came up with an innovative approach that worked beautifully. I covered the shaft with JB Weld (epoxy cement from Home Depot). After a day of drying I ran the motor, and, using the motor and shaft like a lathe, with a piece of coarse sandpaper sanded the shaft perfectly round. Looked like new and has been running 8 months without a leak. $5.00 epoxy is much cheaper than $300 for a new motor.
