      Nice review. Like yourself I'm into a lot of Horror BluRays/DVDS. Scream Factory,Arrow,Vinegar Syndrome,etc. I have the Samsung S95B 65 inch on order and really looking forward to it. I imagine the color pop and brightness will help a lot with these lower quality/low res movies. Esp when the scenes are far too dark!

    Hi! Tv seller and AV enthusiast here. Just one note: do NOT use oled pixel cleaning unless it is really necessary. Pixel cleaning is intense and stresses the panel. The tv is already smart enough prevent burn-in automatically. If you turn off the tv, you will notice a red led being on the whole time: that's the screen automatically cleaning itself while in standby, so no need to force the procedure. It's the very last thing you can try if there are already big signs of image retention. Beside, burn-in has become extremely uncommon in the last few oled generations. Enjoy your tv! :)

    I own the 83 inch. Best TV I've ever owned, but would have loved to try the G2 as I've read it's a little brighter. I highly recommend this TV, just make sure your banding isn't bad on your particular panel. Also Jeff get rid of the no signal by pressing the red button.

    • @miloa.2684
      @miloa.2684 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean by banding?

    • @greenm0bsta889
      @greenm0bsta889 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@miloa.2684 banding is vertical lights on the screen. There are tests on YT

    • @Neonmirrorblack
      @Neonmirrorblack ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@greenm0bsta889 They call that "banding", but vertical streaks/bad uniformity are not really banding. Banding is when you see the steps between color gradients. Instead of them being smooth during their transitions, you see each point where they cut off. Usually this is most noticeable with circles, or in a skybox. You will see multiple "rings" of shading, instead of a smooth transition.

    I got my C2 a couple months ago, and I'm still blown away by it. I'd never owned an OLED before, and now I'm wondering why I didn't do this sooner. Games and movies look amazing on this thing, the black levels are unreal. My only regret is I didn't get the 77", but price was a factor and I'm still satisfied with 65".

  • @Bdot888

    The C2 was my first oled tv and I was amazed with the deep blacks and infinite contrast. All content really pops from the screen. What are ur movie settings ?

    • @Neonmirrorblack
      @Neonmirrorblack ปีที่แล้ว

      The sets look great, and are a step up from plasmas in many ways (but also a downgrade in some areas), but "infinite contrast" is just a buzz statement and isn't real. To have "infinite contrast" means you would have infinite nits, and no consumer display can hit 4,000 yet, let alone infinity. Not even sure that exists anywhere in the universe for that matter.

    • @Bdot888
      @Bdot888 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Neonmirrorblack i mean every tv has its pros and cons be it oled or mini led or qdoled or plasma. I think its more so infinite contrast because the pixels can turn all the off for dark scenes and that cant be completely replicated yet with other tvs besides qd-oled. Regular oleds definitely dont get nearly as bright as mini leds but the contrast makes up for it with more detail in the dark scenes. I personally love my oled because i have a really dark room so the brightness is plenty enough for me. If i went over 1,000 nits then it would definitely start feeling like my eyes were burning lol. But different tvs work for different environments so oled isnt for everyone for sure

    • @Neonmirrorblack
      @Neonmirrorblack ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Bdot888 It's still not infinite. It's just really good, and the blacks are...black.

    • @Bdot888
      @Bdot888 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Neonmirrorblack yeah i get what you are saying. I think what they mean by infinite contrast is since the pixels turn off its technically zero nits. So they divide the brightest whites by the zero black and get the “infinite contrast” . Like even if one oled tv is brighter than another oled it would still come out to the same conclusion since its being divided by zero

    That is a sweet TV!!! I hemmed and hawed recently over upgrading my projector setup to as big of an OLED TV as I could afford to put in my small home theater (Maybe 77" or a major stretch of $$$ for 6" more lol). I ended up grabbing an Epson LS11000 4K Laser Projector and a much better quality ALR screen than the cheaper white one I started with, which really helps my black levels. And since I had to re-mount the new projector farther back anyhow for my old 100" screen, I ended up notching up to a 110" Elite Screen Cinegray 3D and oh.. my... god does It look absolutely stunning! It can't quite touch the black levels of an OLED but holy crap it's like having an IMAX theater in there! If you ever find yourself with a little extra wall space or an extra room in the future, it's totally worth looking into for the money! I'm holding on to my 10 year old 1080p Samsung in the Living Room until it dies because I don't wanna put an OLED in there and be tempted away from the projector haha.

    8:02 That’s not really what that function is for. It’s for if you keep your tv on the soap opera effect ultra saturated hellscape mode for sports, but want accuracy for movies and tv. It’ll switch over to filmmaker mode when it recognizes movie or tv content. While it sounds like that might be what you’re getting at, you say you haven’t noticed a difference with it on, and assuming you usually keep it on filmmaker mode, you shouldn’t notice any difference, since it’s already in the proper mode.

    You're in for a treat. I bought a G1 in summer '21 and I'm still blown away by it almost daily, whether its when playing games on next-gen systems, 4K Blu Ray playback and even streamed content can look superb depending on the source ( I recommend Apple, Movies Anywhere and Netflix for the services with the best bitrate).
    Only negative I'd say about it is that that I think LG really cluttered up webOS from something very clean and streamlined a few years ago, to an ad riddled mess today. The built in apps are fine and usable, but I still think its worth plugging in an Apple TV and avoid using the webOS UI as much as possible outside of switching inputs and adjusting picture settings. Enjoy your purchase!

      I’m using an LG C9 65” and Onkyo TX-RZ50 using the LGs built in apps. No problems whatsoever. Plays Dolby Atmos/Vision or whatever picture/audio respectively to its proper LG app source perfectly fine. Only thing I noticed is that if I switch eARC to “on” from the LG C9, the audio tends to play JUST a LITTLE later when playing a movie/tv show or whatever coming out of the RZ50. For the Price you won on every level. Amazing TV. One thing everybody needs to consider is the space for your TV. Like most of us we want bigger and better. But we ignore the reality of the room space. I'm have a living room half the size so I purchased a 55inch Samsung TV a year ago could have gone to a 65 inch but that would be my limit . Can't wait for the true wall tv that's 100 inches or larger that is similar to the one Arnold was watching in Total Recall. That was a special effect then now for some the
    Options are unlimited

It wasn't until I had collected several 4K discs, that I realized practically all of them were encoded in Dolby Vision, and I would NEVER be able to see it. Hey Jeff. That's a nice TV. I'm glad you finally went for a LG OLED.
    I'd definitely recommend you getting a full ISF Calibration done. If you think the picture blows you away without it calibrated then you'll really get to see what the film makers intend with all the settings set to industry standards.
    You can't do it buy yourself. You can only do a set up using something like the THX set up disc.
    For a professional calibration you need to hire someone who has the experience and equipment to read the screen.
    You'll be able to be even more accurate with your reviews after calibration.
    Take it easy.

    Hey dude love your videos.
    I am also an avid movie collector and have been doing so for years.
    I was a plasma fan before so OLED was a natural progression. I started with a 55 inch Sony and then went to the 65in LG CX. I am now looking at picking up the 77 or 83 inch C2.
    I run goldenear speakers with an SVS sub and elevation speakers for Atmos. The one thing I would suggest to kick things up a notch is to check out and Anthem
    Receiver. I had the first generation anthem but when it came time to upgrade I went to the Yamaha Aventege 3070. Great receiver but at general receiver prices nothing I have ever heard compares to the Anthem so I purchased an Anthem 740 yesterday as I really missed the sound quality and separation in the surround channels. Not much sounds for home theatre and music at the price range. I think you would truly appreciate it.
    Great seeing your home theatre coming together. 👍
    P.s. I don't know if you have ever done a review of Black Hawk Down 4K but I think it is a spectacular transfer and the surround is incredible.

    Coming from a twelve-year-old plasma to the LG 77G1, it's been absolutely astounding how good everything looks on this thing (wish they had an 83" version of the G-series at the time, though). There's no way I could ever go back to anything else; the contrast still floors me. That said, I would never use the garbage software on any TV, though - Apple TV and Oppo all day long.

    By seeing lots of film subtitles burn-in cases on OLEDs, that becomes one of my major reasons to buy myself a dedicated Blu-ray player which is Panasonic UB820, not only it gets custom HDR optimizer, full HDR/Dolby Vision types support and also before I start playing any Blu-ray content, I tune down the subtitle luminance every time to reduce burn-in risk.
