Chase is a great teacher. Have had one lesson so far and seeing some improvement using the Brass Tactics book. Hope to do another lesson soon.

In this video I share thoughts and information about online music lessons. It includes an updated studio tour and demo of the gear I use for online teaching (much to the benefit of Amazon). If you have questions you can post them here and find more information at www.chasesanborn.com.

Chase thx for this vid...shows all the equipment well and where to buy. What do you charge for lessons online?

wow, nice studio! never thought it was that complex... just a laptop with in build mic and camera haha pfff. One quick question, there is software out that you can use to play with others with low latency so you can do online music band rehearsal or lessons, did you ever used something like this?

Software does exist to reduce (if not eliminate) the latency issue, however the technological requirements make it less practical when dealing with many individuals.

Chase- very cool setup. I'm curious about your shedding the headphones. I can understand having the submix eliminates feed back in the room, but how do you control the echo of students audio? Do they always mute when you play and vice versa? With original sound switched on in zoom, I've always struggled to contrl background noise without using headphones.

Echo used to be more of a problem (emanating from the student's end) than it is now--I rarely experience it. Not having the sound from my microphones coming from the speakers should eliminate it coming from mine. I use a highly directional shotgun mic for my voice which reduces background noise (although they can still hear my parrot if she decides to let out a shout :)
