I lived in Bolivia in the Andes when I was a young missionary back in 1977 - 1980. I learned to speak basic Quechua and Aymara and loved the music of the people. This song reminds me about Bolivia and the people and all the folklore I heard.

My dad had this song on a cassette tape when I was young and I remember loving it so much that I still had a good portion of the lyrics memorized 22 years later even though I didn't know what they meant. It was that memory that led me to finding this song all these years later! It's just as beautiful as I remember ❤️

Según veo, la canción es muy antigua, aún así, la versión de Huayucaltia es hermosa. Felicitaciones, y muchas gracias, por compartir música tan maravillosa.

Went to two concerts in San Juan Capistrano a lifetime ago in late eighties (I think) and still have two CDs. Am still listening to indigenous music but it is not as gentle any more, the Earth is crying, dying. I think those were the end of the days of innocence...😼💜

Fabulous memory of this extraordinary album and delicious tune. Where can I find 'mujercita piel de cobre' ?
