- In this week’s Sunday Sitdown, actor Adam Driver remains mostly tight-lipped about the upcoming “Star Wars” installment, but the “Logan Lucky” star tells Willie Geist he hopes fans are happy with what happens to his dark character, Kylo Ren. Driver, who spent time with the Marines after Sept. 11, also discusses how he felt like he’d failed as an actor before ultimately getting his breakout role in the HBO series “Girls.”

Does a good job portraying unstableness in Kylo. while Kylo is not the hard core Malgus like dark sider, I don't think he was ever meant to be. We will soon snokes true purpose with Kylo.
It was a poorly written character with zero motivation and he doesn't have the look. Plus, he does a stupid accent in the movie. What can you do?

I love that red, raw emotion, all that confusion of finding your own individuality, all that conflict of trying to figure where you belong. I can totally relate to him, and I'm sure a lot of people can as well...
I liked him in TFA but I loved him in TLJ, he was amazing and had the most progression and some of the best scenes in the entire series.

Adam Driver/Kylo Ren is by far the most fascinating thing about the new Star Wars trilogy. I guess you could say because he is a villain and that villains tend to be most interesting. I am curious about Rey and Finns continuing adventures but Kylo I feel will be the straw the breaks the back of the series. Also, please let him look like Adam Driver in future movies and not shave his goatee off he looks a lot more menacing that way xD.

Adam Driver is just a really fascinating person, he always has so many stories to tell! Most actors will tell you about their acting researches and building schools in africa, meanwhile he whips out stories about selling vaccuum cleaners, making house calls and joinging the navy
totally! TFA focused mainly on Rey's story, TLJ split their plots more or less equally, now IX can show Kylo's story.
At general it would be interesting to see more of the dark side's perspective, the reasons behind their actions. As Adam mentions in alot of interviews, Kylo doesnt see himself as a villain, he thinks what he is doing is the right thing

I just love how you can connect to him and feel what the character is feeling throughout the movie without sayin anything. You can feel everything building up inside of him and it’s so cool to feel that way with a character. Adam acts so wonderfully and can show many thoughts and emotions with only one facial expression

David Cisneros luckily they're giving him an actual cape in TLJ (longer). That little cape that he had was (IMO) kinda costume breaking. He will look a lot more intimidating with a longer cape. He will actually look badass

He is not a Sith! Besides he struggles between the light and the dark, he might not end up being the true villain of the story. Just wait for The Last Jedi and then judge.

Adam is so sweet. I can tell he puts a lot of thought into his words, and people are cruel to criticize/judge him like that. Yes, he may be emotionally unstable, but you may have to understand him for that. His past in a way was difficult. He’s amazing, and he’s a joy to watch. My hope is Rey is a Kenobi. Wouldn't it be great if she brought Ren back to the light. Think about it. In the force back vision Rey holds Anakin's lightsaber and sees Kylo. In that same vision they removed from the scene. Ren holds Kenobi's lightsaber. He is standing there in a daze. What if Ren is seeing Rey as he touches Obi-Wan's lightsaber. There has never been a Kenobi not featured in the trilogy sagas. Rey has to be a Kenobi. At least I pray she is. Would be awesome.

Adam played Kylo so well. Kylo instantly gave me goose bumps during the movie! In my opinion, the best acting character of all Star Wars movies. And with that Robot voice... oh man. Epic

*Adam Driver is such an underrated actor, he's past is such a heartbreaking moment of memories... The girls only reconize him as an attractive man and they run after him. He has emotions too people.*
The people who disliked TFA is usually related to the similarities it has with A New Hope and the main character Rey being exceptional at everything. I never felt like it was because of Kylo Ren. It seemed like the only complaint with him was that he lost to Rey.
The problem with TFA is that from a story building perspective it was bland. There were no new elements, nothing original. It even lacked what made Star Wars good. There was very little of that memorable banter, there was only one brand spanking new fighter/small ship, and it was destroyed within 3 seconds. The movie took no risks in the way it was done. Nothing. Not even Han Solo's death was original, as he already was 'killed' in The Empire Strikes Back. He was just brought back in the next movie.
What makes Star Wars good that TFA missed?
Banter - Not in TFA
New Ships - Not in TFA
Good Factions with deep ideals - Not in TFA
Risks in the story - Not in TFA
Droids - Not enough in TFA
Graceful Lightsaber fights - Not in TFA
A main character that is actually relevant to the story, and without them there would have been major impacts - Not in TFA.
Villains that wow you - Not in TFA
and more that I won't go into.

They should never worry about pleasing the fanboys. Fanboys will always find something to moan and whine about and seem incapable of understanding how stories work, instead fixating on the bits of the films they like or (obsessively) hate. JennyM1998 I'm a Star Wars fan.. Definitely older, but not bearded or fat 😉. Watched it 10 times when it came out in 1977. It's because of SW that I am a sci-fi nerd.

Kylo is the second best villain in Star Wars because he isn't just "bad". He's complex, honest and extremely unpredictable. Adam does him perfectly in both films.

The thing that really stayed with me about this interview is that Kylo Ren is a really mysterious and important villain and that Adam Driver reflects in part that agony and behaviour of not engaging in social media , like many people are not , not because it is something you chose not to do , but because your job is more important and for you thinking and doing other things is the normal situation . . .

I appreciate that Kylo as basically being what the Sith are always advertised to be. Raging emotions and passion all flying out of control. Even if there is conflict to do something good he understands how a lack of calm is really what powers the Dark Side so he makes decisions he knows will make him feel even MORE turmoil inside. It's like he purposely makes evil decisions just because he knows it'll drive his emotions and make him stronger.
