In mud pot there is water leakage for the cooling of water
The leaking water helps the inner water in mud pot to cooled

Some of the claims with clay pot are just BS, but drinking room temp water is better than ice cold water, you just need to get used to it. Also from clay pot you get some minerals and vitamins like b12. Clay pot will get a little wet, that's how it keeps it cool, think of it as sweat for clay pot but it should not leak.

My grandma always says that drinking cold water from a fridge, when you are feeling hot can give you sore throat but mud pot doesn't.
And SERIOUSLY keep some glucon-D at home... It can save your life someday. Also by tender coconut we mean real green coconut... We don't go for the bottled stuff. Real Coconut water will immediately cool you down.

You have to fill water and change it every day for 2 to 3 day in mud pot when its new this will help you get rid of the muddy taste and smell and when you start using it daily you have to wast interior properly befor filling if and if you want to make it little extra cold just warp a piece of cotton cloth on outside of the pot so water will be bit more chilled
Nice video your doing pretty much the indian way in summers

    1. Dude you have to buy mud pot that used for storing water, the pot you bought used to prepare food. Tell them next time (Thaneer Mun Paanai) when you buy next time you gonna use for store drinking water.. You have buy some sack or something fill it with river sand and keep the pot on top of it. Also keep the river sand wet so the pot stays cool all the time, please dont drink that water not more than 2 days.
    2. Watermelon, fresh tender coconut mixed with palmyra fruit/aloe vera homemade butter milk seasoned with (asafetida, greenchilli, cumin and mustard seeds ) , castor oil bath once in 2 weeks, wet towel on window works but it stinks after sometime :P.

Hey, Ben. The body regulates temperature around a certain range. So, I wouldn't suggest using a thermometer as a tool to measure cooling foods as that is not scientific in the least(to be clear I'm saying its not the scientific way of using a thermometer because temperatures are going to be same unless you have hypothermia or a fever). The best way to check the cooling effect of food is how you are feeling, less tired or less perspiration things like that. Thermometers will only show you a temperature around 37 degrees even if you are in a really hot environment or you ate something you really hot. If thermometer shows a higher temperature its not because of those factors but because you have a fever. I got worried when the thermometer showed 39.8 degrees as that shows extreme fever, I'm sure that must have been an error.

pots have very tiny pores on them from where the water seeps through out and slowly evaporates. This evaporation causes cooling effect in the surface....since u covered the bottom with a stainless steel vessel the water vapour is trapped and is condensed back to liquid...that's what u see water without hole in the pot.....clay pot cooling is very scientific (we studied it in Heat and Mass transfer at my engineering level study)

In mud pot water does leak. So what you have to do is place the mud pot on top of a small heap of river sand and the sand will absorb the leaking water. Ice water is not good. But mud pot water is...

Nice videos. Try adding cleaned peeled nannari roots to the mud pot of water. It makes it sweet and will keep you hydrated longer. Not to mention the health benefits.
you'll need to go the local market to find them, if finding roots are hard, you can buy bottled nannari syrup, that you can add to any juice instead of sugar to make it sweet.

You should hv tried the fresh coconut water rather than canned one!
    * having Fenugreek overnight soaked tender coconut water first thing in morning will make you feel less acidic and hydrated in summer/feel you cool.
Try the castor oil for hair.
Cover your windows with thick cover rather black.
Ice cold water can get your temp low but i feel it's just feeds your thirst and body temperature temporarily.

So about chillies ... redchilles are used in extremely hot places ... it acts as a blood thinner as you can get dehydrated in extreme heat ... keeps clots etc .. nothing to do with pain and shit.... ice cold water is okay but can shock your body with extreme temp difference... pot gives a soothing slight colder water. Also test another thing .. a glass of water satiates ur thirst better than ice cold and see if that’s is your personal experience as well.

The mud pot got wet, because, the structure has very tiny pores, which allow little drops of water to evaporate. And when the water evaporates, it takes some heat away from the pot, cooling the water.
Studied that in 9th standard, finally put to use.
