i wouldn’t say this. a lot of people did they’re make up like this and even before this in the flapper girl era. i feel like people nowadays are just reusing the idea
It actually closes your eye more, especially considering your other natural eye is so wide and bright. It drew attention to the line instead of enhacing the natural openness of your eye.
It actually doesn't look bigger. If you freeze the video you will see that the other eye appears bigger because the white or neutral line still creates a line just like any eyeliner does on the bottom line and it pulls the eyes inside the line. Korean makeup technique really know how to make small eyes appear big by creating brown/beige shadows underneath the eye
If you pause at the part AFTER the nude eyeliner, it makes your eye looks smaller than bigger. It may appear… awake? But not larger. I have almond eyes and I do have a “nude” eyeliner meant for it but it did not make the eyes look bigger unfortunately
I’d really recommend not using the white liner at all on your waterline. It will look much more natural! Both Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford used to do this too!
I’ve been doing it for years… that and some bright eyeshadow in a corner, mascara and I am good to go(if I am in a hurry). Just hate that most brands won’t say if a certain eye pencil is water line friendly or not🤷🏻♀️
If you’re looking for a white eyeliner, the Wet N Wild Marilyn Monroe collection has a set of brown and white retractable liners and they’re really great and it’s $10!
i feel literally SO LUCKY that my eye actually extends out like that, like im the corner the skin isnt close to my eye and it gives a really beautiful shape to my eye!
it looks super pretty and brightening but i don’t think it works for making your eyes look bigger. it looks like it works for the girl in the stitch but i haven’t seen a comparison! i bet if you mess around with colors though you could find a way to make it so your eyes look bigger. probably has to do with you two having different eye shapes. still gorg tho!❤
This technique is very similar to a South Korean technique called Aegyo-Sal which I believe translates to something like “baby eye fat”. It’s not the same as undereye bags - some people have more defined muscles around the undereye area which is known as hypertrophy. In South Korea, those more defined undereye muscles are considered to be youthful looking, so South Korean women will accentuate them using this technique, which also makes the eye appear larger. South Korean makeup companies actually sell and Aegyo-Sal pencils just for this technique. It’s a dual ended pencil similar to an eyeliner with one side that’s a cool or warm light brown and the other side is a cool nude or warm peach tone. They start by smiling in order to see the definition of the muscle under the eye. They then lightly sketch a line just below the undereye muscle using the brown shade which contours and accentuates it. They then use the nude or peach tone directly on the muscle to highlight it and bring it almost all the way up to the lower lash line. Then they go in again with the light brown to lightly define along the bottom of the eye just below the lash line. Usually they’ll do a small, light brown wing on the upper outer corner and then use mascara on the upper and lower lashes. I’ve also seen women add highlighter over the nude/peach color and on the inner corner to add some pretty shimmer, although it looks really pretty when it’s just matte also. It really does look beautiful and brightens and opens up the eyes. It also makes me wish I had some baby eye fat. lol But I have tried a modified version of the technique better suited to my European eye shape that’s very similar to what you’ve just done and it does work nicely. One thing I will say though since I’m already plugging makeup from Asia - I do have smaller, deep set/hooded eyes and I have always struggled to curl my eyelashes. I either miss some of my lashes or if I try to get them all, I end up pinching the skin on my eyelids and around my eyes. I saw some videos recently where influencers were reviewing and saying how great the new Judy Doll Curling Iron Mascara was so I ordered some along with an eyelash curler - Judy Doll is a Chinese makeup company out of Shanghai. The mascara is awesome and I have been wearing it every day….but the eyelash curler was a huge game changer for me. It fits my eye socket so much better, it curls all of my lashes and lasts all day (I’m sure the mascara helps) and I haven’t pinched the skin around my eyes once since I started using it.
I love the white liner extended out from the eye - been using this beautiful technique for many yrs BUT I’ve never liked the white or nude liner in the water line. It’s too weirdly unnatural & unflattering imo - no matter who’s wearing it or the nude liner tone.
It’s like the reverse Monroe effect. Monroe’s makeup artist would use a brown eye shadow underneath the winged eyeliner to mimic the shadow of long eyelashes and it also mimicked a elongated eye but this does the opposite. It’s pretty though.
This may have worked if you used either the white liner or nude by themselves. The stark white on the outer corner and nude along the rest is super obvious draws the eye straight to white section.
Cholas have been doing these tricks for decades... now, if we go back in time our grandmothers came out with the lil makeup they had and looked flawless
I use this tecnique to elongate my eyes, rather than making them look bigger. I have hooded eyes that appear to be small so i always use a nude liner in the waterline as the white one gives a fake look to my eyes and it isn't flattering. But this thing was done in the 50's and 60's as well for what i can remember from the movie stars back then in my country, like Sophia Loren or Gina Lollobrigida
For people saying it makes the eye look smaller that’s because up close it does appear smaller since you can clearly see the liner. From further away it will make the eyes look larger. This is a makeup trick that has been used onscreen and stages forever.
When it comes to the attractiveness of eyes there are other things like the shape and how far apart or close together they are. Many of you are saying it doesn’t make the eyes bigger, I can see that but it looks really good
I tale a concealer to my waterline and set it with white or pale cream shadow, extending it to my inner corner. It works much better than this. But if you have a ligter liner please use that.
Of course, Marilyn Monroe's makeup artist was ahead of his time.
Whitey Snyder!
i wouldn’t say this. a lot of people did they’re make up like this and even before this in the flapper girl era. i feel like people nowadays are just reusing the idea
My thoughts exactly. 🙌
About to say the same ! Like didn’t Marilyn do this lol
These young chicks think they invented all these hacks lol
It actually closes your eye more, especially considering your other natural eye is so wide and bright. It drew attention to the line instead of enhacing the natural openness of your eye.
I thought it made her eye look smaller
It definitely made her eyes look smaller.
I agree
I agree, glad I’m not the only one.
I said the same thing and even questioned myself thinking I was blind

Agreed! Love the shadows below bottom lashes ❤
I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice
Agreed
Yeah, agreed. And I would also add that a slight touch of mascara on the lower eyelashes makes the eye look a little more open.
Am I the only one that sees the untouched one bigger than the one with the white eyeliner 🤔
Me too!
Yeah same
I came here to make that statement, myself. Yep. The unlined eye looks bigger.
I kind think it looks irritated now
The eye with the technique appears elongated. The eye she left alone appears wider and much more open.
If you pause at the part AFTER the nude eyeliner, it makes your eye looks smaller than bigger. It may appear… awake? But not larger. I have almond eyes and I do have a “nude” eyeliner meant for it but it did not make the eyes look bigger unfortunately
So an updated italian eye makeup/sophia loren eye. Yes Marilyn had it to later on, but I saw this more often on italian actresses in that time period.
It actually looked smaller than the other
It was because she didn't add mascara on the bottom lashes of the other eye, so you see no "limit" being set (if you will)
@@mile_851 ohh ok gottcha
Awww i used to do this when i was young. Beautiful
This is a subtle version of what ballerinas do on stage
This looks so good!
You seem extremely underrated! I love your yt channel, and hope you become more recognized.
You’re so sweet! Thank you for watching ❤
She literally copying another person’s video 😂 y’all jokers I swear…underrated 😂😂😂😂
I’d really recommend not using the white liner at all on your waterline. It will look much more natural! Both Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford used to do this too!
It’s all noticeable!!!!
ahh i love makeup 💖
Your brows are beautiful!
That’s amazing.
It actually didn’t look bigger but it did create a very nice illusion.
That trick was used in the 50's Specifucally for Maryland Monroe and Sophia Loren! These young girls are just now getting it! Love it!😂❤
Hey girl! Could you please link your lashes and the makeup you used? Thank you doll!
This gives the illusion of my natural eyes-big but a little droopy.
Damnnn I' discovered tht hack by myself 😭and thts my everday routine now it's a game changer...it so natural nd pretty af

Can you share your eyebrow makeup and mascara?
what brand is the eyeliner u are using please❤
i feel literally SO LUCKY that my eye actually extends out like that, like im the corner the skin isnt close to my eye and it gives a really beautiful shape to my eye!
Old ballerina trick. Also nude liner is better than white.
It would be nice to indicate by name the products you use and where to buy them
What eyeliner is this I see it everywhere!
it looks super pretty and brightening but i don’t think it works for making your eyes look bigger. it looks like it works for the girl in the stitch but i haven’t seen a comparison! i bet if you mess around with colors though you could find a way to make it so your eyes look bigger. probably has to do with you two having different eye shapes. still gorg tho!❤
Plus on her left eye she had tight lined it with a dark shade which of course made it more prominent and awake looking.

❤❤❤
Aegyosal is the under eye part. Even though this technique is there in Asian makeup styles
This is nowhere near similar to aegyosal but ok
@@Ipromiseyounobodyismad I beg to differ. Highlighting the lower eye bags but ok.
I just found your account and I'm already picking up new tricks 🙌
That’s the old school technique from TH-cam 2012 I remember 😂😂
Actually a stage makeup trick used many many moons ago ….I used in the 70’s for my dance recitals…. Lols!
@@michelledillman6381I love how the trend these days are "omg try this new trick!" when we've literally been doing it for decades 😂
Can you please mention the product name when you're using them? It would be really helpful.
Makeup forever eyeliners
I’ve been doing this since I was in middle school. I love big eyes ❤️
That’s exactly what ballet dances do for their stage make up.
Love this
Art 🎨 😂 the professional illsionists yall are magicians 🎩 ❤

That's fricking insane. It actually works.

😂
I'm grateful to be mostly gamine who looks better with slightly tousled hair, so I don't need to waste valuable writing time coifing my hair, lol.
Which white eyeliner do you use?
I beeeeeenn doing thissss wowwwwwe
Thank you for sharing.😎💖

What white eyeliner does she use please 🙏🏻
What pencils do you use?
Oh yeah wow 😮
Great idea
I'd leave out the waterline liner. Just do the wing trick and use the nude liner, not the white. I think paler skin could get away with white liner.
I don’t really thing it broadens your eyes but I like the look overall
I think the consensus is it looks smaller and darker. It definitely adds definition.
Almost every kpop idok do this look
What's the liner brand?
Cholas have been doing these tricks for decades... now, if we go back in time our grandmothers came out with the lil makeup they had and looked flawless
This is a theater makeup technique. But more subtle
but when she tried it, the eyes with a white eyeliner became actually smaller than the one without
ty. finally. ty. THANK. YOU. AND. HER. 😭
Omg thank u all those im mexican i took my dads asian eye
Where can you find both eyeliners?
"So you can see this eye looks bigger and brighter than this eye"
"ma'am no I cant"
Brilliant
Can you drop the makeup names/brands?

You're right. When I held my phone further away it looked completely different and bigger
Didn’t Trya Banks demonstrate this makeup tip on her TV show. She gave fabulous makeup and modeling tips.
My eyes always appear smaller when i darken it even tho they're big so this technic is actually a life saver
Wow

It works even if you jut use the brown (I use a pencil and smudge), and it takes less time.
I know get how my mom felt when my teenage ass thought I was teaching her revolutionary new makeup tips that are actually not 🤣
what kind of falsies are u using? Love them!
Some people's eyelashes are actually that long, but we all have something special.
I use to do that when I was like 14 😂 I’m in my 40s now.
I think your eyes look way better without it. It droops the eye at the corner and your natural eye looks wider and slanted upwards
Nice❤
Which eyeliner pencils do you use/recommend?
I’ve been using the makeup forever artist color pencils recently and they’re great!
It looked the same but cute
I don't use white eyeliner... I use cream/pinkish... the dollar tree carries it, and it's the perfect combo to a white and pink mix for the eye
Pretty girls
🤣 i love how our teen hacks from the 90’s are soooo new in 2024
If you're a brown girly or more tan, bronze might work better
i think it definitely makes your eyes look brighter, maybe not bigger
Ballerinas have been doing this for decades 💕
Literally white eyeliner on the bottom. This was a trend back in 2007/08
