Hey Andy - if you do nothing to a tree very litle changes so sometimes we need to take action. Yes I was watching and you said it your self it covers the trunk - perhaps moving to the left. If too congested you could remove one of the other branches on the same parallel. It was hard to see from the front. Otherwise great to you see you working on trees - expensive one too mate!!! $$ 392 AUD whoa😁😁

Ive got a juniper that ive had for 3 yrs,its been restyled every year 😂 was a cascade,then i repotted as an upright, currently its looking more like it did when i bought it, ill settle on a final design one day. I finally realised the tree will lead me.
I wasn’t sure where you were going in the beginning but I like what you decided to do. As for that front branch, maybe just trim it a bit but don’t remove it.
Good job Andy. Personally I would leave that branch for now as you need the foliage for energy. You can make that decision next year when it’s recovered whether you want to remove it.
Hi Andy you have made it difficult for yourself, your right it is a disaster of a tree with lots of problems which in some way you have done the best you can with what you had to work with, I think I would have been nervous to create a credible looking bonsai from what it started looking like, the branch you mentioned I would remove, it won’t radically change the tree but it will give you a better look at the trunk which it is hiding. Good luck with it Andy it can only get better as you take it forward.
@@joegarland4885 thanks loads Joe mate, I actually moved the branch back more and it solved the problem. It had 5 or more flaws and was looking rough after taking the wire off. I quite like the dragons head dead wood and there’s a few years of training it and well designs can always change. TBH it really doesn't matter what anyone else but you think. It's your tree and if you are happy with the outcome that's all that matters. You are the one who has to look at it on a daily basis. I was sceptical at first but the end result is good. Are you going to lime sulphur the jins? It will be a lovely tree in a few years time. Please keep us updated.
