I was in Nigeria for 6 months, I MISSED PUBLIC TRANSPORT!!! LOL Back in London now and I am so glad to have the buses and trains. I can't wait to get lost on the Thailand public transport system when I come later this year.
It can be scary to use any public transport system for the first time I think but its worth doing here because it really opens up the city for exploring new areas
BTS is a lifesaver! Also while it doesn't go to Khao San/Chinatown area, it does have interchanges TO MRT stations (as you pointed out in the video) and the MRT can actually take you to the Old Town where Khao San/Chinatown are located.
I love the BTS train and I love Bangkok I live in central london and it reminds me of the tube thanks for your informative information yes I used the local buses and ended up in bangkapi it was a nice experience I think I paid 8 baht for the bus 🚎 😂 know air conditioning 140 thai baht for a day pass good price
Thanks Robert! Bus is the only beast I have yet to ride here in Bangkok so I’ll have to give it a go. I don’t think the Bangkok to Pattaya bus counts haha
@@ProjectBangkok have you done a video on that? We're looking at doing quite a few temples and palaces. The place you and serge went with lots of areas representing the different provinces we may try to do as well. Thanks for the recommendation
I got the BTS polo from the BTS information centre at Saphan Taksin BTS station. It was a little tight on me and I can't see myself wearing it out clubbing... but good for future BTS videos :)
It's one of the very few things the Thai gov't has done right. I started working in BKK in 96, a few years before it open (when elephants still roamed Sukhumvit!) .. the difference is staggering. It used to take 45 min - and hour in a taxi to from Suk Soi22 to Erawan... it was literally faster to walk. The continued expansion has been done well and now getting close to complete coverage. Credit where credit is due... as much as I think the Thai gov't in general are low IQ corrupt idiots... the BTS has been done right.
Elephants on Sukhumvit?! Wow I bet that was a sight you will never forget! I couldn't imagine Bangkok without the transport links.. Good to see so much construction going on around the city with constant improvements and changes
Thanks,infromation, and beautiful view😉👍
Fantastic.. So informative and you have made catching the BTS so easy . Thanks for this Vlog
Ooossshhh that’s an old vid Paul.. I need to remake some of these I think hah
@@ProjectBangkok definitely very informative and great for new traveler’s to Bangkok

Yeah I’ve taken the MRT to the closest station to khaosan road and just walked.. was about 10-15min. Have you seen my MRT video yet?
Good explanation of the BTS-System. i will reference to you in one of my next videos where I explain how to use the Skytrain from Asok to Siam

Loved your vlogs... the most valuable information... but I had one doubt ‘ is one day pass 140 bhatt is valid for both BTS & MRT
No they are separate companies annoyingly so have to use different cards. The MRT doesn’t have a rewards system either
Got it mike....
This is a very helpful video
Always happy to help
