It's not just summer wu ranked C+ (bare minimum should be B+) It's also the batshit take of rating Summer Erice at the same level as welfare Erice. Summer erice should be A potential A+.

Honestly, when I first saw Summer Wu's kit I thought it was pretty solid since she can make other servants with the undead modifier skill be more broken. Which would probably make Saber Ibuki be super strong.
Thought something similar. Her plus Ruler Martha's S3 has to make for some crazy burst damage.
@@sonokawaraymy only real issue with her is that, the undead trait is triggered by her np. I wished one of her skills triggered it instead. Her np triggering it would have been good, if she were a buster looper, so that she could do that increased damage across multiple waves. But she is not. If it were in one of her skills, it would have also given her added flexibility in terms of ce choices.
Jokes on you, I have Koyan, Oberon AND superscope so there is NOTHING stopping me from farming with Summer Wu!
She's also fairly good for multicore, so you also need to consider that.
My hot take is that I think Erice IS on par with Astraea and Kriemhild. She is like the middle ground between the two.
Her NP damage is higher than Astraea without her Anti-Evil but lower than Kriemhild with her Anti-Dragon (I am assuming her damage with Anti-Dragon because George is free.) Her charge is higher than Astraea's 20 but lower than Kriemhild's 50.
On the other hand, her survivability is lower than Astraea's ruler advantage but higher than Kriemhild's berzerker one. Astraea can crit extremely easily while Kriemhild is completely incapable of it, while Erice actually can crit, but it takes star gather command codes on her cards and 30+ stars (which isnt too easy, but also isnt too difficult with Xu Fu or Proto Merlin). She is the jack of all, master of none between the three.
That's not a hot take at all. The way I see it, it is Astraea who is not on pair with neither Kriemhild nor Erice. Astraea is powerful, very powerful, don't get me wrong, but you just need to take a look on the numbers and skills to see that she is not really on pair with these two when it comes to damage-the most important thing for DPS Servants. If we are comparing at NP5, which is very fair for SR Servants, and what really matters in the late game, Erice's damage is bigger than hers: 89,669 versus 82,347. Sure, we can't forget that Astraea has a good niche damage, which is Evil, but so does Erice, against Servants, which is an even better niche than Evil. We just have to take a look at Gilgamesh being still in EX tier these many years after his release to know that, more often than not, Erice will be hitting her Servant niche, way more often than Astraea's Evil one, but, for the sake of comparisons, lets counsider that BOTH of them hit their niches: now we are talking of 121,018 for Erice versus 123,409 for Astraea.
While Astraea wins when against her less wide niche by a very negligible margin, that alone does not tell the whole story. Her biggest steroid lasts only 1 turn, meaning that for the following ones her damage will drop severely when compared to Erice's one. Not only that, both of them are mainly boss killers, and against bosses there is no sense in ignoring the fact that Erice has a taunt with defense down per attack, that can go from 0% to 90%, but that will often put at least 30% defense down on the enemy. With that taken in account, while Astraea's damage will drop on the 2nd and 3rd turns, Erice's one will only increase, to a whooping 157,293 if she is against a Servant, and 116,593 if she is not. And that, remember, is considering 30% of defense down, because it's what you will usually get, so I used 30%. With RNG, you may even get something like 50%.
Astraea has a better refund, it's true, but Erice is not really much behind, because while the former can critical hit easier, the later is tremendously efficient at getting refund via being hit. Honestly, unless you are considering Astraea's defensive advantage as something very decisive here, Erice's damage is just so much bigger and more consistent if you properly invest on both, that what I think is a hot take is to say that Erice is not better than her, let alone not on pair. Astraea's only big advantage here is her built-in ignore invulnerability, which in some fights can be really powerful, and that alone would make her a better choice than Erice in these fights, but only in these fights.

@@ziruideng5158 Yes but ruler Moriarty is a limited SSR. And he is not even the kind of SSR Castoria is, where there are so many people who rolled on her there are probably more accounts with Castoria than those without. The reason I counted Kriemhild's Anti-Dragon is because George is free.
Guys, you have to understand that not just because X Servant can apply the niche to support the special damage of another Y Servant, that means they are good. Of course, using Moriarty with Astraea won't be bad, same as using Georgios with Kriemhild, but more often than not, the damage you are gaining by using these, you are losing by using a non-optimal Servant (Arthuria Caster). You will either end up with similar damage by the end of the day, or if you end up with more damage, you will be losing a lots of other things. Yes, Moriarty can apply Evil and Arts down, but he has 0% of targeted battery, 0% of NP Gain, nothing of defense for his team, basically offers nothing else support-wise. Georgios can apply Dragon trait, and that's it.
They are not bad combinations, but they aren't OP combinations either, because there is no actual good support that can apply these traits, so you make an exchange: you use a bad support that can apply a trait, instead of using a good support that can't apply the trait. Georgios' problem is somewhat offset by the fact that he can cycle extremely easy, dying in a single turn with taunt, and allowing you to bring more supports to substitute him after he applies the Dragon trait, but that's not even the case for Moriarty, who's a SSR Ruler.
Astraea's the best because she's permanent, *period.*
All the bellyaching about which one is slightly better than the other 2 falls away once you get that extra Astraea spook while rolling which ever one of the dozens of banners people roll on each year that neither Kriem nor Erice will show up on.
If this were a more open and shut case of who's better like comparing Tamamo with Castoria, then the measure of availability becomes much less important due to the two Servants working so vastly different, but if the topic is "which of these Arts beatsticks is slightly better at hurting studf good", the one that the majority of people will have AND which more people will likely get to Np2+ will be the best one.
Kiyohime Lancer is that high because for VERY long time she had in her short write-up that she has NP Seal on her NP, not Skill Seal, so they clearly rated her on that. I remember specifically making an account to post comment about it. They changed it some time ago, but I'm pretty sure they didn't look at her placement when doing that.
At this point it's especially hilarious because she is somehow above Madusa Lancer, who is miles ahead of her (they underscore Medusa Lancer heavily and overscore S. Kiyohime).

@@JohnnyJustice777 Pretty sure they put Medusa Lancer there before her buffs and didn't look after her even after she got upgraded so many times.
@@Dorrovian even before her buffs, she was better than kiyo lancer. Everyone's main complaint with Medusa lily was her np gain. Yes, damage was also an issue initially, but whenever someone bring up Medusa lily, first thing they say is that her np gain is garbage. Kiyo is no better. Hell, she has the scathach problem of having 2 hit quicks and 6 hit Busters with the most barebone skill set. Atleast Medusa lily has survivability. Kiyo doesn't have that either

I've been looking at the gamepress tier list for years, and one thing I've grown to realize is that there is no way you can fit all servants into the same list. there are just to many kind of ok servants being crampet into the same tier as underwhelming servants and servants that are pretty good but overshadowed by even better ones. what am I suppose to learn from rama being in the same tier as both of the caenis and pre second buff caster liz?

I learned more from you guys talking here or from Myst's Tier Lists with you guys than I did from any random tier list on a website. You guys have me playing the game better and better to know what to roll for in NA when they come around. Like Huyan Zhou. I had no interest in rolling for her, but seeing you guys use her so nicely has me way more interested in rolling for her in October.
Tbh AppMedia has very in-depth descriptions for Servants, it's just in Japanese (but Google Translate is usually good enough). As for Gamepress, you need to be wary who has written the review. If it's by Rathilal you are good to go, his first impressions about JP Servants is also very good series. Rabbit is too much meta slave in my opinion, but is still worthwhile to read most of the time... and some others, well, you have seen here.

Ok let’s be honest here. For anyone that has both castoria and Oberon, Why on earth would they pick Helena as a looper? It’s not like we lack Omni arts farmers that are so much stronger than her.
In my case, she's Np4, grailed to 90 because she WAS a top tier 4* support back in the day and has an np upgrade so she loops well AND deals a shitton too with ssr supports. Thats the Year 1 player dif, lots of built up old Servants that might be powercrept but still pretty useful due to raw damage.

It's mainly their Servant writeups where they try to pin an objective score on every servant that people have an issue with. As a game resource I like them better than the FGO Fandom Wiki due to not having so many invasive adds and their event guides are solid.
Since .jfif came up, yeah, discord is just braindead with that, it stands for "jpg file interchange format" and you can just change the extension to .jpg and it'll be the exact same. It's just a jpg under a different name

I remembered people fawning over the Mahoyo trio together and I was just looking seeing them so out place in comiket, I think aside from Erice who was born in Akibahara, the gudas are probably the only protagonist who I can see ever go there.
Maybe I'm just too much of a Gawain fanboy, but seeing him in fucking C+ made me choke on my drink.

it's better to think about gamepress as 3 chunks, for top, medium, and lower tiers, because everyone disagrees on the specifics

I forgot they don't count JP buffs despite listing them on their site.
I'd still argue he's stronger than proto arthur at least value-wise. His first two skills are a huge damage steroid and he pairs really well with most of the major Buster supports in my experience. He's still a mid-tier pre-buff, but you get a lot more value out of him for a much lower investment than proto Arthur. One way or another, putting him behind meme servants like Summer Tomoe is insane.

I don't care how good Summer Erice/Elise/Alice/14 is. You probably have a healthy amount of her if you were rolling for Ibuki, so she's usable bare minimum.
Now with that being said, she can't one shot the Enkidu on 90++ even with Event Bonus and MLB Damage CE. Sure, Neutral hitter, but you'd think she'd be able to hit the 1M threshold with all those bonuses and Avenger damage mod. Doesn't she also have a Servant Hate buff too?
What? I've been using np3 Erice and she does totally fine one shotting for the 90++ node with event bonus and mlb event ce. There's 90++ vids of her one shotting at np2 fine too.

I can't test the actual Node anymore, but I ran it through Laplace on the Chaldea App for both the Oberon setup and Xu Fu setup. Even with Event Bonus, L15 MLB Damage CE, and all Skill Buffs on, she's hitting just under 850K on a low roll with the Oberon setup. I did another run with her A3 maxed, and even then, she only hits just shy of 999K on the NP itself. I don't know what you or others are doing to make her hit 1M on the 3rd NP alone at lower NP levels, but she hasn't been able to do that for me with common setups at NP5.
@@espurrseyes42 i mean none of those vids are doing anything different aside from castoria/oberon and castoria/waver. I haven't built xu fu but the standard meta art works completely fine with her even at lower np levels. I ended up getting her up to np5 for the last few days of the event.

@@espurrseyes42 yes. If you look up fgo summer 7 90++ erice. There's a good amount of vids of her one shotting enkidu. I had no trouble doing that for all of the event when i got 90++

I think content creators have a bit of double standard regarding Summer Wu enabling anti-undead but for the longest time disregarded George enabling anti-dragon. It’s not a 1/1 comparison but still.
Here is the thing: Summer Wu can also provide the teamwide anti undead power mod, while George has to be paired up with certain servants that have the anti dragon mod. Basically, Wu is more of a universal support eventhough she is more expensive due to her party cost. When they release something like a ce that gives damage up against dragons, George will instantly see more use cases as an antidragon support.
Edit: Also has weird synergy with Xu fu, who also provides the anti undead powermod. So can also be helpful for f2p players
Wu gives EVERYONE anti Undead up AND turns enemies Undead AND also provides a litany of other buffs to the party or debuffs to the enemies.
Georgius turns 1 enemy into a Dragon...and that's it. The only other benefit he provides to the party is his proficiency as a taunter (which don't get me wrong, is a pretty strong niche even today).
Comparing them is apples to oranges, Georgius helps tank damage and makes Beowulf, Siegfried and Sigurd do big damage to anyone but thats sorta it, Wu helps literally every damage dealer in the game with extra focus on Buster Servants and those who already have an Anti Undead buff.
@@rotciv557 That’s a fair argument, which is why I said it’s not a complete 1 to 1 comparison between. Wu clearly offers more offensively but that’s warranted yeah given her 4* status but I think you’re underselling George’s usefulness.
@blackxel6414 I wouldn't say im underselling Georgius at all, I have the guy Bond 11 for a reason.
Georgius is a taunt tank, plain and simple. The only actual buff he can provide is with his bond CE and only upon him dying. As unfortunate as it is to admit, his niche of just staying in and surviving isn't as relevant nowadays as it was 2+ years ago because at this point we already have so many taunters that provide similar benefits while doing so much more. Just comparing with other Bronzes Leonidas was always his biggest competitor and by this point in time getting him setup is so easy that its basically no different than just allowing Georgius in to do his thing...but Leo also gives C. Stars and a nice Buster buff to the party, while also being able to easily loop his np and keep his taunt running longer than Georgius can.
Another he competes with is Chen Gong, who can do SO MUCH MORE even if he only gives 1 turn of taunt compared to Georgius 3, but said taunt being targetable and the breathe of options he provides more than makes up for it...
And of course, both of them have better classes for support Servants than Georgius who has the absolute worst one due to him stealing stars.
Its just like I said in my previous comment: its apples to oranges. Wu and Georgius are already worlds apart and even within his own rarity he's been upstaged at his niche. Georgius hasn't fallen off entirely yet and he's one of the bronzes that I argue really needs just one solid touch up to become wholly relevant again. Something that lets him better fulfill either his universally useful niche of being a tank in CQs or his significantly more situational niche of turning things into dragons.

Wu's Anti-Undead works with EVERYONE, while George's Anti-Dragon works with like 4 units.
(If I'm not mistaken those 4 are Sieg, Siegfried, Sigurd and Kriemhild)
