Thanks again for finding some time to do this and more importantly finding time to edit it all (cause that probably took longer then the ride!) It was a pleasure meeting another Guzzi owner plus it was really cool to be able to admire my bike from the back (is that how people get in to the "swinger" and wife swapping!!?) any who defenatly we need to go for another ride one day trip to Wales.
Absolutely mate, it was a pleasure to edit becuase I got to stare at that beautiful bike for a bit longer. Always happy to take a trip out, we'll have to go for a longer ride at some point. Thanks again.
Moto guzzi is the most underrated bike maker, only if they knew what they are capable of. Stelvio for example, in my opinion was the only direct competitor of BMW's GS (in my opinion better). only if they would put the engine of V85TT on V7. I think guzzi is not aware of their potential.
@@therealunclevanya slightly? 15 hp on a 65 hp bike is an awful lot. Moto Guzzi is well aware that they can make better bikes like the grisso 1200 SE but they won’t give the v9 more power cause it will need better brakes and suspension. And that cost a lot of money that they are not going to see ever again. I believe the V9 is a good compromise between a bonneville and something like a Royal Enfield. Just my 2 cents.
I always love a Guzzi review, cheers. Not seen this tested before & can't say it's been on my radar tbh. Was very interesting. Although not in to cruisers & because of it's size & weight it's not for me as I'm a weed lol but absolutely aspire to own a Guzzi one day. They're just too cool imo.
One of the best bikes Guzzi ever built was the now discontinued Griso [both versions]. It handled well, looked good and was comfortable. Shame they never bothered to bring out an updated version. Guzzi at times shoot themselves in the foot and don't produce the machines they should be [ a Le Mans for starters]. Anyway, nice looking machine [the Audace] but way too heavy for my liking.
totally agree with you. They stopped producing stelvio which was their best bike and now they produce v85TT which is nowhere as good as stelvio. Not that v85tt is a bad bike, but it doesn't do what stelvio did. and the same goes for Griso and v7. They should have just discarded the V85TT and put its engine on V7 and le mans and continued with stelvio and griso with the QV engine. Indeed they shoot themselves in the foot. That goes with Aprilia as well.
It's odd. I really don't like the way the cylinders hang out the side of BMW boxer engines (yeah the weight is low down), but on this the V with them just jutting out a bit at the top looks quite artistic and cool. Certainly a head turner. Who doesn't want their bike to look cool ? I like the sound of shaft drive. Less maintenance and hopefully more reliability always sounds good. More riding time :)
Deffinitely agree with you. For me the engine has to be a feature to make a bike beautiful and there is something really attractive about that big V Twin poking out the sides.
His Triumph got nicked, where have I heard that before... funny thing, my uncle's speed triple also got nicked... hold on, I need to check my Bonnie...
Which did you prefer? Also, any chance of you doing a comparison of your 750 and one of the 850s? (Bobber / Roamer / V85TT, appreciating that the V85TT seems to be in a higher state of time)
It depends really, they're both really different so they suit very different styles of riding. For a no fuss simple little do anything bike I'd stick with mine but I like how smooth an experience it is to be sat on a big powerful cruiser. I will obviously try my best to get hold of a V85TT but Moto Guzzi dealers are a little harder to find than some other manufacturers.
I have a vII 750. The best thing about it is that it’s light, but lacks punch off the line even with remap. The Cali 1400 is almost double the weight, but has that power off the line and with torque all the way up the rev range. The Cali 1400 sounds like a great bike, just heavy. Maybe the Cali 1100 is better - 100kg lighter. 1100 is fuel injected but no ABS. The Griso instead of either Cali?
Batpod from the Dark Knight. Fair point though, I think I meant more about it feeling underpowered for its weight or the steering being a bit laboured but you're right it's not often you notice a bikes weight while it's moving.
@@robbikebob Sorry Rob. I can't include your entry as I've just set the rules to 'solo' riding examples only! 😮 And in fairness... that could apply to any bike!
Sorry it's on cars. Lotus cars apparently lost weight when they went along . Bits would fall off. They were "collectable" in every sense of the word. ( I'd still love a Lotus Esprit, with the submarine conversion ! ) I guess there must be a bike out there like a Lotus ...
Really nice looking bike. What amazes and frustrates me is why guzzi haven't put a variant of this engine in a V7 style bike 😬 if a V14 existed then I'd be first in the queue! (Well, I would be if I had the money 😅😢)
Agreed. I'm actually more kean to see the new V85 in a stripped down street version, that's got just enough extra grunt to make something like the V7 feel swift.

They did. It was called the v9
@@roaster6980 V9 doesn't put out 80bhp/80Nm
I know. I have been on the v9 and the v85. There is def a difference but nothing crazy.
A year late and they have, the new 850 is based on the TT (but sadly slightly detuned)

Yeah cruisers aren't my thing just yet but I really enjoyed riding this. It was intimidating big to park though.
Think its my next bike

Funny you should say that but I've litterally just bought myself one. Really hoping it lives up to my expectations.

I set a challenge to everyone. Name one bike that doesn't "lose" it's weight once you get moving?
