    Guzzis - the way the Vee was meant to be. I've had Guzzis for years, once you tame them you ride them for ever.

    They put the v-twin in correctly. Is why you like it!

    Moto guzzi has mainly Air cooled bikes that's why the engine is placed like That. It makes sure That both cylinders cool equally

    I love me some Moto Guzzi! As a die hard Harley guy, I will be the first to admit, that bike is totally bad ass! Much like Harley with their v-twin engines, Guzzi's are also V-twin, although somewhat horizontally opposed. It's a Guzzi thing. That's their design and they've been doing it that way for decades. Kinda like BMW with their boxer engines. I happen to own a BMW RT and the sensation you describe, when revving the engine is exactly the same thing I feel when I rev my RT..the whole bike kinda leans to the right. It's definitely a unique riding experience and that makes the Guzzi that much more of an enjoyable bike to ride.

    Shawn the REAL motorcycle EXPERT, this is Shawn the Afgahnistan VETERAN. Thank you for making awesome videos that will save me tons on money down the road. I mean, I can't afford a really afford a new Harley and continue to live my awesome lifestyle, but with your help I see the REAL possibilities that EXIST out there. Instead of owning one bike that hurts my bank account every month, you have shown me that I can try out all sorts of fun and interesting used bikes (some that cost a mere fraction of the low rider s) and keep my riding style fresh and exciting.
    Now, I can call myself a motorcycle hobbyist/rider because I have experience on tons of bikes. I don't want one bike, I want to experience them all. I really wanted a brand new low rider s but after seeing your TW200 video, and all the fun to be had on one, you know I'm looking for one of those bad dogs next. Also, bought an FZ09 on your accord and that bike had me hell bent for two summers lol.
    You've found a niche on TH-cam, keep up the hard work, you are craving out an awesome legacy and I hope it continues to catch on. BTW, Gotta love that jacket!! Keep rocking the scriptures BROTHER!!! My wife used to complain about all of my motorcycle talk and video research until she heard you say scripture before the ride. She was like wait, whhaattt!! So, I told her that you are the Steven Furtick of motorcycles and she hasn't said one word about it since. And now that it's an affordable topic she wants to ride too. :-)

    There's no "supposed to be" about the engine. By the way it's longitudinal just as a BMW boxer. Just the cylinders are 90 degrees instead of 180. Simple. And it's worked well for over 60 years.

      I have had Guzzis for twenty years, I took one of them to a dealer to get it serviced...last time. I did my own work after that, dual points, valves, timing, carbs, driveshaft...everything ! It was easy to work on, very high quality.

  • @rosicroix777
    @rosicroix777 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Moto Guzzi has a longitudinal V-Twin engine as opposed to a Harley Davidson which is transverse. Also the Moto Guzzi is a 90 degree V-Twin, the Harley is 45 degrees. At 90 degrees the engine will not vibrate nearly as much as a 45 degree egine, it will also rev higher & can get more power. Also with the engine set longitudianaly it is able to air cool alot easier. setting the engine transversley would make the bike have a larger wheel base ( less nimble especially in turns ) as well as cause cooling problems to the rear cylinder. Indian created some bikes during the 2nd world war like this, Harley made a few opposed twins ( like BMW ) buring the war for use in the north african desert as they thought the heat of the desert would cause cooling problems for the bike ( which it didnt, WLA's worked fine during the war ). The way of solving the cooling problem was address by Ducati by making the cylinders set in an L shape so the wheelbase could be set short & airflow over the rear cylinder wasnt interfered with by the front cylinder. Other ways to solve the problem have been to reduce the size in CC's to almost half or to have liquid cooling which is more complex & costly. Sill a great video & hope some of you will get a chance to ride one of these wonderfull bikes & the old ones tend to be very reliable & are great touring bikes.

    A conventional V-twin is transverse, you would call this a longitudinal V-twin as the crankshaft is parallel with the length of the bike.

    • @macaocan
      @macaocan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right, transverse or longitudinal is referred to the crankshaft. A 4 cylinder sport bike ( ie yamaha r1) has a transverse motor, as an Harley or a Triumph twin....all are transverse. Guzzi V twin or BMW boxer twin are longitudinal..

    • @jetstream454
      @jetstream454 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @phuc ewe They're wrong. In automotive a transversely-mounted engine like in FWDs and some AWD is always counting the crankshaft.

    • @Crouse_Property_Maintenance
      @Crouse_Property_Maintenance 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      transverse means the crankshaft points right/left, longitudinal means it points front/back.

    • @FGTony
      @FGTony 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      A longitudinal engine is an engine mounted in a vehicle so that the engine's crankshaft is parallel with the vehicle, front to back. The vast majority of all motorcycles today have transverse mounted engines, 2, 3 , 4 cylinders. The only brands I can think of that carry longitudinal engines are Moto Guzzi, BMW en Honda with their flat 6's.

    That twist you feel is called torque spin. Not a good plan to try and let go of the handlebars. It will throw you in the ditch. Always keep one hand on the steering and it wont do it. On that one with so much power coming from that engine, you have to be a pretty good sized man to lean left if you do let go to compensate for that power torque spin off that engine on this one!!!

    • @elisabattle8456

      I think it is because most European bikes have single wall header pipes unlike the their Japanese counter parts that have double-wall pipes. Like the old Triumphs/BSAs the headers were always blue.--Mike
