Hello and thank you for your message. These are tutorial videos for complete beginners and they need to see what is happening on the fretboard the same way as what is happening on the Timeline (which is not a tablature). It is an additional aid to quick understanding.

Question wasn’t this in drop D for a D rather than E? Makes little difference in this context but it just hit me. I keep a guitar in drop D just for fun. It’s also my answer to the wife as to why I have 10 guitars. I use them in alternate tuning to learn more songs. It worked until she said “when a new one comes in one has to go”.
