Clapton is the only person to be in the rock and roll hall of fame Three Times...as a solo artist, as a member of Cream and as a member of The Yardbirds. The Yardbirds at one point had Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck as guitarists and would eventually form the foundation for the great group Led Zeppelin.

It’s a crowd at a 2017 London Greenday concert, singing Bohemian Rhapsody together. The first time I saw it I was almost overwhelmed with tears at the obvious love people have for Freddie and Queen. I also came across an iPhone video of a 2yr old singing Bohemian Rhapsody while in her car seat. I was crying I was laughing so hard! Both are worth seeing.

6:35 - right on - just because I've known of them for decades, doesn't mean you, or anyone else should.
It is like living in a town - there will be areas you have never been because there was no reason to - sometimes they may be only a street or two away - and there will be other areas you know well even if they're across town.
Music is like that, just like films (movies), and all sorts of other things - there will always be now stuff coming your way, even if some of that is very old - heck, heard a Queen track earlier tonight that I am quite sure I had never heard before despite listening to them for ~45 years!
Similarly, there is a LOT of 'rap', rythme'n'blues, country, etc. music I have never herd - it wasn't what I listened too.

Cream was Clapton, Jack Bruce on bass and vocals, and Ginger Baker on drums. They were the first real power trio, were known for extended improvisational instrumental jams. The 1968 (maybe '69?) live version of this song, Crossroads, was phenomenal. Try "Born Under a Bad Sign", "White Room", and "Sunshine of Your Love", too. If you liked this, you'll probably like these others.

Dont let those fools who act surprised that you dont know these old guys bother you. This stuff happened 50 years ago. That's half a century. How could you possibly know. You werent even born. This is from the reunion concert at Albert Hall. They broke up in 1968 and hadnt played together since, then they did this. They played slower than they used to. Maybe it's got to do with their ages, I dont know. You need to watch their Farewell Concert from '68. That was the true Cream. The other two dudes are Ginger Baker on drums, probably the best drummer ever and Jack Bruce on bass, definitely the best bass player ever. Get a hold of the "CREAM GOODBYE" album and listen to the first cut 'Im So Glad". Listen to the bass (if you can isolate it, great) and you'll get an idea what a monster Jack Bruce was. This was in '68 when they were all young kids and they were at their prime. It's also faster than the way they played here at the reunion.

Cream were a British rock band formed in
London in 1966. The group consisted of lead vocalist/bassist Jack Bruce,
guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker.

"them ol school cats were kickin it!" No sheet-ite. These guys here r like 60-65yrs young. Chk out the wheels of fire live. Came out 50+ yrs ago. Cream's best version of Crossroads. Didn't realize it was recorded "live". Sounds so clean. Nxt song is Spoonful. Give a listen. U won't b disappointed. I guarantee.

Called, "Cream because they were the premier guitarist, drummer, and bass player of that era. Ginger Baker, drums Clapton guitar, and Jack Bruce on bass. Called the best of the best. You know how cream rises to the top of fresh milk? That's where the name came from. and by the way Clapton got real quiet after hearing Jimi Hendricks play, just FYI.

Compare this version to the "original" on Cream - Wheels of Fire album. Amazing what has changed and what hasn't changed. I think at the time this was recorded Jack Bruce (bass) was in pretty rough shape, a mere shadow of his playing in his younger days. Surprised they got back together for this, basically Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker couldn't stand each other, but they buried the hatchet.

The Dark of a Moonless Night...
Story of the bluesman, the Devil, and the deal at the crossroads, as retold in Stephen Davis's Hammer of the Gods.
In the delta of the Mississippi River, where Robert Johnson was born, they said that if an aspiring bluesman waited by the side of a deserted country crossroads in the dark of a moonless night, then Satan himself might come and tune his guitar, sealing a pact for the bluesman's soul and guaranteeing a lifetime of easy money, women, and fame. They said that Robert Johnson must have waited by the crossroads and gotten his guitar fine-tuned."

This Cream cover of a Robert Johnson original was just one of hundreds of American Blues numbers done by British bands . At the time Black artists in America weren't getting the recognition they deserved , all their songs were being covered by white artists and getting in the charts . We Brits picked up on the Blues and electrified it and took it back to America with groups like The Rolling Stones and The Animals .... who immediately gave credit to the original creators , arousing an interest in Black Music , in White American youth . The Brit bands usually cited artists like Robert Johnson , Muddy Waters , Howlin' Wolf , Sam Cooke , and many more as their inspiration .
