  • By the time millennials are 85, half of us will have dementia.
Second Wind is the organization that created the Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT) and Leeza's Care Connection is the organization that hosts it here in LA where we took it.

This is so heartwarming, this video touches the very bottom of your heart. Knowing that so many people are out there fighting against such horrible disease and not being able to get help due to the unavailability to come across with what they're experiencing.
Thank you so much for sharing such videos with us. They really open our eyes 😳

“Loving your loved ones is still important, even if the way you show that love is different from how it used to be”. WOW

This video has really opened my mind about how difficult it must be to live that way!

I don’t know how anyone could remember all of those tasks like that tbh. I have short term memory loss and I just remembering something that was just said is very challenging for me. Example: if I tell someone I going to the store and ask if they need anything, and they tell me like 3 things they need, I’d say, okay, I’ll be right back. And I’d get to the store and completely forget I’d even had that conversation.

My grand mom just passed away from fast growing dementia... she’d only had it for a couple months...
She went to the hospital for a UTI and something happened to the point- a week later she passed away.

Thank you for doing this. I recently lost my Grandmother to dementia and even though I had a little bit of awareness of the situation, due to being states away from her, I just wasn't fully aware of how bad dementia could get.

My neighbor has dementia and she keeps breaking into my house and my neighbors houses. She also goes through everyone’s garbage bins. She only has her son and he’s paralyzed. Her caretaker only checks on her once a week and she clearly isn’t getting the help she needs. We’ve all tried to call people to help her but no one ever does. Any advice?

How is it going with her now? I think calling the police for advice and help for her might be the best option, unless you can find any organizations that are helping people with dementia, with better caretaking.

@@heavnxbound it’s about the same. The cops have been called many times. I’ve lived here for over 15 years and nothing ever changes.
