I traveled business class to Europe this summer twice. On both trips, there were many people being turned away from lounges because credit card entry to lounges is NOT guaranteed. Whenever there are many paid, business-class customers, people with credit-card access will NOT be admitted. This included the Delta lounge!
I have Priority Pass via my Chase Sapphire Reserve card. I wouldn't call myself a frequent traveller, but so far, most of the Priority Pass lounges I've been to are 💩 and not worth it. And because everyone and their brother has Priority Pass, there's always a huge line to get into these mediocre 'lounges'.
Credit cards were discussed in this video. One thing I personally witnessed several times when in Europe is that some places won't take American Express. I remember one was a bar right by Moulin Rouge (I think it was The Station.) I recall it happened at least one other time but not sure which country. Perhaps they were isolated instances but I travel in Europe at least twice a year. I always take one Visa and one Mastercard and have never had any issues. I fly United and do enjoy the Polaris Lounge and the United Clubs. I also agree with others in this post about flying First Class for a domestic flight and not being able to access the clubs.
Hi Niki and Allie! Thanks a bunch for your awesome travel videos! As someone who recently retired, I’ve found your videos super informative and entertaining. My wife and I have been to Europe four times, and each time we’ve had a blast, even though our trips have been short so far. The biggest challenge for us has been packing our carry-ons. My back isn’t letting me carry a backpack, but I have a pretty big sling that so far has been working. Keep up the fantastic work for all the travelers out there!
This probably relates mostly to American airport lounges--so great if you fly in the US airspace. I've traveled extensively world wide and never seen any of these "exclusive" lounges. But you can pay to get an international lounge nearly all the time!
Delta is changing the abiltity to access the lounge in 2025 you must have Diamond level in the spending to access the lounge without a 1st or business class, and I believe the same is happening with the Centurion lounges due to overcroding.
Airline lounge access inside the USA is only offered to domestic first class on a very few coast to coast flights. If you're flying from anywhere else, you're out of luck. Chicago, Dallas, Boston, San Diego ... you could have purchased the most expensive ticket on the flight, there might be a lounge in the airport, but they will not let you in.
I flew international on Delta in coach and checked to see if I could pay for access but everything I read said they didn't offer that. Is it worth it to check directly with the lounge when you are there?
You’ve oversimplified or your info is out of date. Domestic first doesn’t get you in. Amex and Delta have added annual visit limits in Delta Skyclubs etc.
Can you make your content more worldwide friendly if you are going to advertise Anyone? It would be nice to have non American options for credit cards too.
@awaytogether not sure if you are aware but this and your previous video does not have English track when played over chromecast TV. works fine on iOS app and the web. Is there a setting your can enable for it to play in English on chromecast android TV?
Your tips are super practical and easy to follow-this will definitely make my future travels more comfortable and enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this helpful info! ✈💺
I've watched 6 minutes and so far I've learned that I can pay to access these lounges. Great.
Exactly, and not cheap

"free" is misleading. You are paying a membership fee or some other payment somewhere else. Borderline click bait title
Did you just forget to include the free example???
right?

Using the lounge at the airport makes the airport experience so much better.
Meh

We recently flew through Detroit and Priority Pass was not valid for any of the lounges.

I made Star Alliance Gold and I didn't know that I could get in? I'll have to check the next time I go through the airport...
SO glad BA don’t do pay to enter lounges. I get somewhere quiet and chilled out to work without noisy people. Makes my Gold Tier membership worth it.
Most lounges are overcrowded and hard to get into even if you “qualify “ I’ll pass thanks 😅

USO is now ONLY accepting active duty with orders.

Found that out recently flying First Class from Denver, meh.

Yes, absolutely! We traveled Delta a few times this year and there were so many people paying for a day pass, which was usually around $60 per person
@angelrosee73 Thanks. It would seem foolish of them to not sell the pass as long as the lounge isn't too crowded.
None of these options are free
I concur

Forget it when you fly economy!

Same issue here.
none of this is for FREE
There is no lounge worth $700/year. 😅
You'd better to remove "for free" from the title of this video. There is nothing for free, but the cheese in the mouth trap...
Yet more TH-cam click bait. You’re a total describe paying for access when the thumbnail says “for free”. Unsubscribed and done with the channel
