    honestly after watching a bunch of bs videos and taking what information i could get from them then coming to this video, this one has helped the most. straight forward and is basically all you need to know if you actually wanna fly it. thanks guys

    I've watched several Phantom 3 vids, and this one is one of the best. You showed the app functions more clearly than I've seen in the other ones, the calibration procedure included a couple things I didn't know before, and you DIDN'T get all cutesie with your dialog which takes away from the information we need. Thanks!

    Just yesterday, a man with the exact name allowed me to fly a drone. THIS EXACT KIND!! I was soo thankful, and am thankful right now. No words could begin to describe howawesome drones are, and how greatful that I am!

    people in the future watching this be like: "only 25 minutes flight time? and what's that warm up and the rituals at the beginning? lol"

    • @GranVlog
      @GranVlog 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Irun Mon haha. i hope we get better batty tech so the flighttime is somewhere around 1-2 hours per battery. would be so cool. aerial timelapses and stuff.

    • @irun_mon

      GranVlog
      forget 1-2 hours, I want 12-24 hours :p
      use hydrogen or something like that, or even better antimatter lol

      +Irun Mon i like your thinking

    • @jsprite123
      @jsprite123 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Irun Mon No kidding. The drone should self-calibrate. What was it about "warming up" in the video? does it use vacuum tubes? So, it it doesn't get any GPS signal at all, can you still fly it full-manual? Can you also point the camera at any angle you want?

    • @GranVlog
      @GranVlog 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +jsprite123 vacuum tubes is so 50\60s. haha

    Good job. I learned a lot. For anyone watching, don't even have a mild tip over in that pretty soft sand. He was very careful, experienced, no worries. With my Blade 350 Q3, I was careful, and inexperienced and dumb. I ended up tipping it over, sand in the motors, my remote even. Don't ask. Then very intelligently I went to fly again, two motors didn't start. And I could barely turn them by hand -- crunch. But a lot of blowing, and I got the sand out, no problem. Inside I had a can of compressed air for this sort of thing and everything cleaned up. I was impressed. Not good treatment, but it worked out fine. Don't go there! LOL

    First week of flight on a used Phantom 2 Vision (not vision plus). The Phantom 3 is way more advanced than what I'm using. In fact when it gets out of sight I turn the remote off and it comes home. Looking fwd to getting the 3 one of these days, great video!

    How newbie-friendly is this drone? I've been looking around for one that I can eventually fly using my smartphone or a tablet. I've never operated a drone before so I'd like to know!

    • @stressballer
      @stressballer 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      IAA015 This drone is not a toy and should not be handled like one. You cannot fly this drone with your smartphone or tablet. I can recommend getting a smaller drone to try to fly with first, before you take the leap up to a full size drone like this. I have the Hubsan X4 myself, but any similar drone is great for learning. It might be that the parrot drones or at least one of them, are meant to be flown with your tablet or smartphone - though be advised of its limited capabilities compared to this drone from DJI. Good luck and fly safe! :)

    • @BoY860
      @BoY860 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have never flown i highly suggest getting a cheaper model. Or better yet just get yourself a syma 3 channel heli. Learn the basics of flying and once you master the basics this is a great user friendly upgrade and easy to use. (Aside from knowing your basics)

    • @farmertml
      @farmertml 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      IAA015 It's extremely easy, it's my first drone and I have had 0 problem. After 1-2 days you'll have it mastered

    • @stressballer
      @stressballer 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      farmertml Please. It is NOT EXTREMELY EASY.
      I have been flying airplanes for years, and also dabbled in helicopters. Flying a drone without the aids the DJI system provides is not easy at all not something you MASTER after 1-2 days.
      If I wasn't sure you'd crash, I'd challenge you to fly in full manual mode and see how that goes. Try NOSE IN or SIDEWAYS hover, and be ready for a nasty surprise.
      If you fly in fully assisted mode, yes, you can fly around no problem and when something is about to go nasty, you can more or less let go of the controls and the Phantom will stop what it is doing and just hover. But you cannot always rely on these systems and you would need to be able to fly manually.
      ...and that is why I suggest you get a smaller drone to practice with.

    • @coryboy345
      @coryboy345 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You move the left stick left or right, there is no actual left and right to move the camera itself, you have to move the entire drone. The camera will only move up and down when in flight.

    • @lebon40
      @lebon40 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve Koppel my understanding is the software is programmed to restrict elevation to 500m max.

    • @chillinkansai
      @chillinkansai 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve Koppel If you go into the settings you can change the max distance in the pilot app. The ceiling (vertical) is 500m though and that can't be changed, although you can lower it. I prefer to be able to see the machine at all times, so rarely go higher than 100m and keep my distance to generally less than 400m. I am flying an Inspire 1, but the pilot software is pretty much the same. (haven't heard of any differences.) My aerial videos are on my other channel if you search on youtube for flyjapanco Have fun and Fly safe!

    Holding the altitude down for more than a few seconds will shut the motors off. Will this happen also in mid flight?
