+Irun Mon No kidding. The drone should self-calibrate. What was it about "warming up" in the video? does it use vacuum tubes? So, it it doesn't get any GPS signal at all, can you still fly it full-manual? Can you also point the camera at any angle you want?

+resinmic max distance with stock antennas is 5kmh with superb videofeed back. this is in good conditions without interference. but normally you can expect at least 2km range.

Good job. I learned a lot. For anyone watching, don't even have a mild tip over in that pretty soft sand. He was very careful, experienced, no worries. With my Blade 350 Q3, I was careful, and inexperienced and dumb. I ended up tipping it over, sand in the motors, my remote even. Don't ask. Then very intelligently I went to fly again, two motors didn't start. And I could barely turn them by hand -- crunch. But a lot of blowing, and I got the sand out, no problem. Inside I had a can of compressed air for this sort of thing and everything cleaned up. I was impressed. Not good treatment, but it worked out fine. Don't go there! LOL

$700 isnt cheap but kids of all ages would hardly ever need another toy after this one!
+spwb2k Where are you seeing a Phantom 3 Professional for $700? $1,300 for this model shown in the video. You may be looking at the standard which is not as capable and has different control/video.

Hey guys how do you know if you need to do a IMU calibration ? When I turn on my Phantom 3 4k it looks just like the one in this vid. It says safe to fly and it wants me to do a compass calibration. Is it necessary to do an IMU calibration on a brand new Phantom right out of the box?

Hey man, I have a question about flight elevation. I am really new to drones and am looking to buy one in the near future. I live in the mountains and will be flying this drone up to potentially ten thousand feet. Other manufacturers have limits on their drones to where they won't even take off if they register via satellite that they are above eight thousand feet. Do you know the specs for this brand/camera?
should i buy the advanced or the standard? Is the 5.1 gigahertz really a big problem for flying past tree's or something like that?

i know this is a bit trivial but i swear i have not seen a single video where anyone can pronounce the word incandescent, they always kinda skip over it instead of trying. (it's in-can-deh-sent) like i said it's a trivial thing but i'm just surprised that no one even tries to pronounce it

I hope DJI company start doing thinks right . Dji Phantom 2 Plus have to many problems , remote not comunicating with the quad , fly aways , motors stop working with any reason , GPS problems . Customer service not good at all. We purchase 7 quads to the business and 3 are defectives . What a nightmare !

I just bought my phantom 3 standard and I don't have any devices that are compatible with either the dji go app or the dji pilot app so is that going to be a problem? I Can get the dji vision app will that work on the phantom 3?

how the hell does this thing's FPV camera look so dam good and racing quads FPV looks like total crip dog shit? I am not a racer so i could careless about weight and speed i just want to fly and see things, i think im going to go for this instead
better camera = more weight. racing drones need lightness.

How stable is this drone in the wind? I've only played about with cheap drones. They all fly really well indoors, but they're not a fan of wind. This looks very stable, just wouldn't want to have an accident with it costing so much for what is for me a fun "toy". And yes, I've had one blown into the sea.....I wasn't exactly pleased....

Interesting video! Does any flyer use a specific drone app to check the wind conditions near the sea? I just check regular weather apps like AccuWeather or Weather by Tomorrow.

My phantom 3 after flying like 200m the camera gets lags nd I get scared but I don't know if k soppose to move down thing for it to fly further
Thanks for explaining the app. My gosh, im disappointed DJI doesnt have a better tutorial on the subject.
Can you really remember all of those things you have to do before flight time and recording time ? That is a puzzle to put together. All of that makes you wonder if it is really worth it o well. I know I would not remember a step or two being a beginner and most beginners will do the same if they are honest about it , this goes for the experienced Pilot as well.
Are they worth it? I might be getting one for my birthday (dont call me spoiled brat) i do alot of online advertising and my parents both own businesses and they want me to make videos for them and my dad as well owns a disposal and excavation company so i would be recording things like that and if anyone knows can they take falling down not hard but not softly if that makes sense?
You know how much 360degrees is? If you do know, then you apparently need to calibrate yourself too.
Is the App exactly the same with the Phantom 3 Advanced? I was seeing that the only difference between the Pro and advanced was the video quality. Is that right?
I noticed at the end of the video you hovered the Phantom then gripped the leg - do you switch the motors off the same way (pull down left) as you would if you landed on the ground? I don't really fancy landing the Phantom on sand.

Very risky to let battery go town to the 'h' level on windy days at the sea, the phantom doesn't considers the wind and if you are unlucky battery will drain before you can reach the land...

When you were calibrating it you're not supposed to do a 360, the quad is supposed to do one, you should move around it!

I'm looking to purchase the DJI Phantom 4 and look forward to learning a lot from your channel. Does the sound of the drone itself transfer a lot of noise to what you're recording? (aside from the wind noise) I'm looking to use my drone to record family events, nephews football games etc. I'll likely edit the majority of the videos I shoot by incorporating some background music, commentary, etc, but at the same time I would also like to be able to hear the natural sounds of what I'm actually filming. Will this be a problem with the DJI Phantom model drones?

Did you lock your sd card?? On the side of the sd card it has a little switch that says lock.
Obsolete now because of catastrophic bugs in the last firmware upgrade which fried the circuits in the camera gimbal.

Heads up to all prospective purchasers of any Phantom product ---
Forget these third-party reviews. Nothing personal, but they do it to get the drone for free or minimal cost.
Go check out DJI's support forums to see the thousands of problems with these units (wish I had). Then consider if you want to buy one.
Bottom line on the phantom3 Pro (at least) - 6 minute flight time, 1 in 2 chance of something not working properly out of the box, obscene shipping and repair costs, lack-luster camera controls, grainy videos half the time, fly-aways, gps sat drops, the list goes on.

Been using mine now for a while and have not had one issue. This thing is solid as a rock. I do find that the video does get laggy on my display tablet though. It starts off great but slowly gets more laggy through the flight.
Holding the altitude down for more than a few seconds will shut the motors off. Will this happen also in mid flight?

Great info! Do you know if a tracking device is or may become available for the Phantom 3? I.e. You have a small device on your body and the Phantom tracks it so you're completely hands free? There's a quadcoptor called Lily that has this as its main feature and it's what I'm really looking for but the Lily has a fixed battery which is useless. Thanks
