    I'd look at re-rigging that anchor. Tie to the bottom, zip tie to the eye on top. If it gets snagged, you can pull the line hard to break the tie, and pull the anchor up from the bottom.

    Hi;
    The next time you want to put something on the surface of your kayak and want it to come out water tight, use Well Nuts. When you install them, they will seal up water proof every time and things like Pad Eyes it gives you alittle extra space under them because the top of the Well Nut has a built in washer on the outside. They come in many sizes and work 100%.

    • @grayjohn5676
      @grayjohn5676 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You have to drill a hole just big enough to force the well nut into the hole, no larger. Get the well nut wet to lube it a little if it is hard to get in. The smaller you can have the hole and still get it in the better. There are videos on well nuts. They are self sealing and work great on anything you want to come out water tight. As you screw in the bolt, the under side brings the rubber up and seals off that side and the outside aready has a built in washer to seal that side.

    I like the idea of the pop rivets, but unless you're using closed end rivets, it's not water tight. I guess you could plug the center of the rivet with silicone, but that's not a long term solution.

    Awesome video! I have the same kayak and I love it. One tip to maybe try is instead of a ring for your anchor trolly use a Carabiner so you can easily take your anchor line in and out if needed.

    Great mods! They really improved the Lifetime. Can we get more information (size and make) about the rivets you used? What is your plan on replacing anything if it breaks(nylon handle or seat back)?

    Just bought a tamerack from a guy for $50. He put a hole in it by dragging it. I repaired it easily but I don't recommend dragging your kayaks. Unless u are good at repairing them.

      @@theflyguytfgflies Definitely make a keel guard out of PVC plastic or gorilla glue all weather duct tape. Some parts on the tamarack are paper thin, flash a light to see.

      @geeyoupee 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shaunmcclure3722 If you lazy or don't got the tools, thick duct tape, weatherproof one if possible. Otherwise black abs or PVC is way more durable. I can drag my yak without worrying. Helps a lot when loading it on my Prius as I got to pivot the yak up. If I were to do it again, I would use white PVC as black abs was hard to mold to my yak, took a lot of heat.

      The Fly Guy ya thanks, didn’t really see where you would disconnect, to leave, it floating in an emergency, but not hard to figure out , I guess another carabiner in line there , ok so I gotta get some things done to my new tamarack piecemeal like, an anchor, a more comfy seat, and man I think I, gonna need one of those dolly’s to wheel this thing around, it’s heavier than I thought at I think 52 pounds. Hey thanks for the videos. Love em,!

      Thank you! You are welcome! For me no. It is more tippy by default by raising it slightly but nothing crazy. I still fly fish out of it fine in all types of water in Ohio. You just have to get used to it and get comfortable with how it handles.
