    What a cool way of doing the first steps. 😀 I always wondered if there were more ways to train inside a software with guided tours and such... but I guess you found THE low-tech but highly effective solution just placing instructions on frames - simple, but genious! I am sure it will be helpful to many people.

    I would like a course on explaining more about opentoonz's tool as I get problems eg the fill tool sometimes won't work even tho I've sealed the gaps and talking more about the different icons on the side. But GREAT VIDEO DARREN KEEP UP THE GRAND WORK SIR, ALSO WELL DONE TO MRS T ON HER FIRST ANIMATION.

      Thank you. I'll pass on your congratulations to her. She did really well.
      The fill tool, with vector levels can be really tricky. Grouping your lines helps a lot for filling them.
      I've got a course in OpenToonz udemy. There's a link in the description to it. You can see what it covers from the link, and watch some free lessons.

    This is very helpful to get me started thank you! But there is a bit of a problem, in your project for some reason the tools (brush, select, eraser etc) is very laggy i don't know why. When i tried my own project it doesn't lag like this so it must be something from this project but i don't know what. I still manage to finish it though, with a very wobbly circle lol.

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you managed to work through the project.
      The main reason that lag occurs is when you use Vector levels, which I don't do often, but this project does have some vector levels in it, so that could be a reason.

    • @amandhairfan1283

  • @nikokinable

    the fill bucket does not work in vector level. What mightr be wrong?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to make sure that your lines overlap each other. And you might have to group the lines from the context menu (possibly ungrouping them all first if you'd already grouped them).
      But the first question I'd ask is, do you REALLY need to use vector levels? They're tricky to use and the filling is one of the worst issues.

    • @nikokinable
      @nikokinable 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DarrenTAnims I am sure there are no gaps in my shapes. In fact it does not do it even when I use automatic shapes. No, I don't like vector level myself either. They are tricky and their use makes my projects overly heavy. But I want to show to my pupils how high numbers of molecules are moving, and vector level makes it a lot easier for me to do.

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is it happens often, the best thing to do is to make your scenes as small as you can. Smaller scenes tend to render first time more often.
      If you can't or if that doesn't help, then rendering to am image sequence (png's) will allow you to render party of your animation. Then after falling, you can continue to render from the last image onwards. And then assemble them in another program, OpenToonz itself or using ffmpeg with the command line.

    • @DarrenTAnims

      @@thetoonbook reinstalling won't change anything. It'll just take up your time. It might be a memory issue. Try restarting your computer, run OpenToonz, load your scene and render, without running any other programs, to see if that helps.

    I didn´t know where else to turn, but is there a specifik effect or way to create a sunset or a sunrise in opentoonz?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really, but it depends what you need. You didn't say if you wanted to animated the changing of time, to show the sunset happening or if you just want to set your colours to a sunset type range.
      You can change the colour over time using the keys in the palette (details are in the help guide).

    What is your opinion of Tahoma. Haven't used it yet but will in the future. Right now been sharpening my teeth on Flip-A-Clip.

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว

      I love Tahoma. It's got a more simplified look, compared to OpenToonz. I think it looks better for new users. And some of the extra features it has would be great in OpenToonz. For instance, the perspective tools. The thing that makes it stand out to me are the enhanced stop motion features.
      I just wish the 2 programs could merge.
