You do realize that Paul wasn't in Stone Sour, he died in May of 2010 and the album came out in September of 2010 which means almost all of the songs were probably already written, and that Audio Secrecy was a fantastic album.

I think one can hardly compare these bands. yes jim and corey are in both but the style is very very different. stone sour is like hard rock/ metalish and slipknot is....well it's slipknot..."slipknot made corey what he is today" ....I Doubt that. i think he had a far more important effect on the bands than the bands on him. I prefer Stone Sour but I would be stupid if i wouldnt like Slipknot , because lets be honest Slipknot is great....
It's a concept album, so volume 2 of the story will tie in with with the first part which is why there will be the same riffs to show the continuation of house of gold and bones.

I saw one of the last shows while Paul was still there, and one of the first after his death, and Corey had changed. There was still a kind of anger, but more sadness. If Slipknot release a new album, I think that it'll be very different, and maybe their last with Corey. I'm seeing them again in the summer, hopefully Corey's spark will have returned.
