Oh really ? Thank you so much !! Those larger images are fun to work on as like mini oil pastel paintings lol .so glad you liked the video Deb ! Happy coloring my friend !!
Wow! it's a beautiful painting you created with this texture. I could think of many uses for it, even in coloring books. Instead of drawing something on a blank area, you can create something abstract with these pastels. Loved the fruit you did on the pages, and the last page is really unique.
Hi susan ! So happy you enjoyed the video! I have a video titled how to use oil pastels in Coloring books , i hope you check it out! I have several videos if oil pastels
I loved all the pictures you did with these. They look so painterly. I know you like the smooth gradients, but these came out very pretty. They would work well in a Mythographic book, where there is often swirls of mist and water and clouds to colour around the image details.
Hi Sue !!! Oh yes thats a brilliant idea !!! Thank you so much !! Maybe ill try that one day soon! Thank you for the kind words as always ! Happy coloring !
Thank you for sharing your technique! 👍 It’s so tricky to use oil pastels that I even thought that I need to get rid of them. 🙈 Thank to you they got a second chance 😅
This video is great. Your coloring on the pages is excellent. I've been wanting to use oil pastels on coloring pages but most videos on TH-cam show oil pastels being used with brushes or made into watercolors by solvents. It seems as if nobody was just coloring with them, so it's delightful to see you use them in this way. I've been using very simple coloring pages to teach myself oil pastel work. Important that it doesn't have too many tiny details because that's going to be harder with OP. I've seen a few people get close to the lines with colored pencils. Usually ones that are closer to OP, like Prismacolor. Or Luminance. Or you can put the OP on a paper stump to get in close to the borders of elements. And you can thin out the "patchy" parts with linseed oil and a cotton bud or q-tip. Also, Paul Rubens and Sennelier are much softer if you prefer that for your backgrounds. Harder OP are good for hard edges and details. You've inspired me.
Oh yes ive done all those things as well in previous videos, i hope you check out my other oil pastel videos and see what you think, yay !!! So happy to hear you were inspired by the video ! That makes my day !!! Happ0y coloring to you
@@coloredbymaia6476 Thank you. I'll definitely check out those other videos. I think I've seen one other one on oil pastels from your channel. Looking forward to checking out others.
I am new to oil pastels, got the Arrtx ones for a background and they are too soft and the result was patchy not smooth. So I can see that the Mungyo are the better ones. Thank you for sharing!!!
The colors are very beautiful 😍 I love earth tones colors too😊 I think they didn't work well because of the paper 🤔 oil pastels work great on toothy type of paper like watercolor or mix media paper .
Those pages are amazing.!!! I used mine for the first time a couple of days ago. I did two different pages in two different books one of the pages the pastels went on perfectly and blended really well but the other page was a disaster, the pastels were all sticky like yours. ( I gave up and didn't persevere like you !!, maybe I should have ) I wonder if it has something to do with the different paper ??? ... but also some of my pastels were wet ( which I read is normal sometimes ) those ones were more sticky. .... I did enjoy the process of playing with them though ❤
Yes i noticed that they were very very sticky !! So they are great for drawing on the paper but not for blending them out with like a finger, that doesnt work well with these
Now I want a peach after watching this 😂 but thanks for sharing the colors are gorgeous and I definitely grabbed the satin glazing liquid after watching your mungyo video such an awesome tip 😎
Hi Maia, The Cherry Blossoms are Absolutely Beautiful! The background looked more like water, to Me and was Very Beautiful! I was wondering, if you could smooth the Pastels with a little bit of Gamsol ? Thank You very much for Sharing 💜
Hi Sherry !!! Oooo someone just asked me the same question, i dont know the answer because i never tried that , but i do know that a little bit of oil will blend out the oil pastels wonderfully, maybe i should do a video on that trying it out , i saw a lady do it on Ig and it came out beautifully. She used Vitamin E oil or almond oil something like that
Hi! No I don’t have a video using it yet because its still a new product to me, I recently got it, but I’ll practice and show it in a coloring update soon, there are lots of videos on TH-cam of other wonderful colorists using it though
Maya the green picture with the orangish daisies…if I give you my number Id message you on Instagram…would you be willing to send me copy? I do virtual Cross stitch and I would love to do that. It’s beautiful!!!

I love the satin glazing. It has no smell and that is very important to me.

Hi Beatrizz!! I have never tried the Arrtx ones so i dont know but for rubbing out on a coloring book backgroound the mungyo work the best so far

Hi Gigi!! Actually they work great for like a oil pastel painting, but not for rubbing on a large background in like a coloring book.
@@coloredbymaia6476I know you are creative and you will find a way to use them in this book if you wanted 😊
