Gday Chris we get a little black beetle that invades the hive , looks like a lady beetle but flat they can decimate a week hive in no time , the bees will chase them around, there legs get stuck in the chucks cloth and die, thanks for the Question and thanks for watching .
Gday yes there is a lot of space in the lid. found it sweats too. hard to get 10 frames in sometimes. easy to run with 9 frames in the super. and the plastic is not a very good insulator . i wonder sometimes about the plastic is it still gasing off. we have about 50 50 plastic & timber hives and had more fails with the plastic than timber. cheers T

How well are you liking these Nupla Hives? Seems the designed in too much room in the topcover and the bees want to use the space.
