We all know the interior and exterior now - but curious to hear your evaluation of how it handles and drives compared to the Sedan and RWD versions- and which cars your think are its main rivals (Audi has no hybrid A4).

      There’s no X3 45e. There’s the X5 45e though.

    • @DaveDVideoMaker
      @DaveDVideoMaker 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I’d do to make the X3 M40e is to replace the 2 litre four cylinder with the 3 litre six cylinder from the M40i, change the alloy wheels and exhaust tips and replace the xDrive30e badge with the M40e. Would that work?

    • @andersjensen1499
      @andersjensen1499 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I think the X5 is to big and BMW just gave the new facelift of the 5 series the 45e power train so I was hoping that BMW would add the 45e to the X3 lineup then they will facelift the current X3. One can only hope 😊

    • @DaveDVideoMaker

    Ugh... that battery packaging is not acceptable. PHEV model needs to be considered when designing the chassis. Hope BMW learns from the RAV4 Prime (just in terms of packaging), which loses virtually no luggage space and even retains a space for a spare tire.

    Thomas, you do know that leather is natural and Sensatec is carbohydrate?

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html
      In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which exact body part you would be murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
      The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination.
      For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car.
      In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette.
      Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all it is just common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

    "I really love these wings lights. I sometimes turn it on and look at it". This works especially well whilst smoking a joint, having a line of coke ready to go on top of the dash, and a good malt to wash it down 😂But seriously, how did you find the seat comfort. I have an X3 with the M-Sport set up. The seats are bloody uncomfortable, especially on long drives.

  • @ClaireYunFarronXIII
    @ClaireYunFarronXIII 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, Thomas. 🤗
    I think I need to talk about the new thumbnail approach. Even though I love the new approach to the thumbnails, I must say that I felt more of a "connection" to the prior approach, because I see you (Ajay, Brian, etc) in the same real space and environment as the vehicle/s being reviewed. I felt as though the previous thumbnail approach gave me a sense of realism by showing the presence and size of the vehicle relative to the reviewer and the backdrop. The thumbnails felt unfiltered, but instead felt natural...just like videos. The thumbnails also showed the beautiful photography skills of Autogefühl. A true Autogefühl and Autogefuel fan will notice a certain consistency in the respective channel's thumbnails, lol.
    Anyway, take your video on the G-wagon variants: The G550 (I think) and the G63. That thumbnail was of both G-wagon models, and the backdrop was on a beautiful outdoor landscape typically associated with the G-wagon (and vehicles alike) since it is an off-road vehicle, so it gave me a feeling that I am about to watch an outdoor-sy video with an outdoor-sy car. Of course, the title of the video adds to that. Another example of the top of my head is thumbnail for the new GLE 53 Coupé. In my opinion, that was a beautiful thumbnail taken in that beautiful icy landscape, so (with the length of the video) I had the feeling that I will be watching a long video about the all-wheel drive car in a wet, cold weather, and I must snuggle and tune in. One more example. Take your video with the new GLE 53 at the motors how with Brian. Just by looking at the thumbnail I know the video is taking place at a motor show or studio, because I see a lot of lights on the car and Brian next to it. I knew before clicking that the review will have talking in the background from attendees and that it will be a bit crowded, which it was. I knew there will not be a driving segment and possibly no engine soundcheck. Only a tour of the exterior and interior. If that thumbnail was made with this new approach, I would be a bit blind and assume that there may be a driving portion with an engine soundcheck, then be disappointed that it is just a video taken in the auto show. Note: not everyone knows when a vehicle is released, and some people watch videos that are posted a long time ago. So, a GLE 53 customer could search for a real-world review of the car, but be disappointed that they clicked a video that takes place just at the auto show. Anyway, it is not just about the beauty of the thumbnails, but also what they communicate. Personally, I feel as though the current thumbnail approach lin this video with the BMW would work better with vehicles you guys do not have in person, as then it shows me that you do not have the car with you in person, but you will be commenting on it. I think that works better than just using a picture or screenshot from the automotive brand's pictures or videos. An example of where this new thumbnail approach could work is the early video/s with the new E-Class facelift. Due to coronavirus, you did not have the car, bit had information on it, and you did a voiceover.
    That is just my feedback, of course. You do not have to change your approach just because of what I said. I am just one of your many viewers. I am not going to hate the videos, all of a sudden, just because of my feelings on the thumbnails. 🤗 You know me; I am always for change. As I say repeatedly, I am willing to let the change sink in...even when I have initial doubt of it, and I will not hate on it so soon. I give it a chance. If it does not work out, I will move on and it will "sink out," lol. At the end of the day, it is 100% your choice to change. Even if thousands of people commenting and telling you to change it, you don't have to. It is your choice.
    I hope you understand what I am trying to say here. I don't know if I was clear enough. And I promise I am not a hater. Thank you for hearing me out. 🤗

We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

      did you really say "in musk we trust" unironically? I've got nothing against Tesla, but he's just the boss, there's a whole team of engineers actually making it happen...

    It would rather be the iX3 for me if I were to get an X3 today. However, I'm still waiting for the 330xe Touring I ordered this summer (with alcantara and Sensatec interior, naturally). Whenever BMW releases a pure electric estate car, I'll be all over it! Until then, I will have to make do with a PHEV. For 95% of my driving, I can drive it all-electric anyways...
