Large on the outside, small on the inside, shiny black plastic, hard cheap plastics, tacky screens, touch areas instead of real buttons and knobs, expensive, all the bells and whistles of a modern "premium" car.
Call me old fashioned but I prefer the 2018-2024 SQ5’s. Good balance of preference, comfort and tech that has physical buttons. I don’t love the glued on iPad look but everything else is a win for me. Benz to gimmicky and creeky interiors. The 2018-2024 m40i’s are great too. I would save money and pick up a 2024 sq5 or m40i
After watching this great comparison video, I decided my choice out of the two would be the Porsche Macan S. At least that way I can get all the quality I expect when paying for a performance compact SUV.

Definitely I prefer X3 but in 2.0 petrol version. There are too many details inside GLC. Vents are simply attacking you when you are sitting inside GLC X3 is simple and smooth. Both have too much plastic.

@@AUTOMOBILEGEEK the GLC was made better in terms of driving dynamics and interior. Only downside is it now has a 4 cylinder that emits more co2 and uses more fuel than then 6L engine f.e. in the CLE 53
It won't, people will still get it because they didn't downsize the engine like mercedes. I'm sure you were utterly sure about the G22 that it won't sell because of the design and so far it's one of the most sold car of BMW. Same with the new 2 series, soon with the new 5 series. People are so overly negative and force hate everything. When of all the 3 main premium brands you are the only one who doesn't downsize the engines (a c43 with a freaking 4 cyl? same price as the X3 M50 tht has a 6 cyl LOL) people will still come to you
If you're cutting the cost of the production then cut the price of the final product.The prices are crazy but my salary isn't , i can say is almost the same like 3-4 years ago.Anyway , with that kind of money i would buy an Alfa Romeo Stelvio QV , even a low mileage one and between those 2 i would take the Merc
i agree with leah, bmw looks nice but wierd in some angles, both lost quality for sure but bmw feels like a economy car interior to be honest .. but that b58 engine though :) i would happily pay another 2-3 k more to not have so much plastic in the car. tiny attention to detail like entry scuff plates, illumination in the center console storage, aluminum door handles and buttons, have comfort access on all 4 doors, have ambient lighting on all 4 doors..... these tiny details are what regular bmw drivers immediately notice .. bmw used to be really good at this but what do i know .. may be i expect too much paying 80 grand for a luxury car
Tested both of them and both are compromised. X3 M50 has a terrible interior, sunroof that doesn't open and is just butugly. GLC 43 is to uncomfortable as a daily for me and is insanely expensive to register - 11k EUR registration tax where I live which is 4k EUR more expensive than the L6 in the CLE53 and it's well over half the price difference with the 63...so you may as well buy that one if you really want that AMG badge. I ordered a GLC 400e (Coupé) full option. Best version of the GLC and German SUV's in general imo. S-class levels of comfort in the driver seat, more than fast enough for public roads, 120km electric range and you don't get robbed by the taxmafia for it. I would have considered a Volvo X60 T8 over both the X3 M50 and GLC 43, but their PHEV systems seem to have a lot of electric problems at the moment.

For a long time I preferred the BMW design over the Merc. But nowadays the BMW looks cheap inside and out. The Merc looks so much better!

I don't like standard X3 but in M version this looks nice.
BMW looks cheap and plasticy inside, a step backwards from old model. Merc looks good inside. B58 is still one of the best engines around
