As a lifetime console player, I think ASA is way better than ASE I can see why PC players dislike ASA, but I personally think ASA is amazing (besides the changes they make to the maps)
The remaster just is ark with a better graphics but it still has the same bugs that have been in ark for ever because the wildcard devs can't code to save their live they were allways bad at fixing the bugs
it is cheaper, when ark survival evolved released it was the same price as every other big game that released and thats without any dlcs. ark ascended comes along thats half the price of all other big games out now without the dlcs and even with the dlcs its still cheaper than the triple a base games let alone cheaper than ase with all of its dlcs at the time of its release.
2:50 for pve players like me who just like to enjoy the game, explore the map, tame dinos, build a nice base etc and not rush to a boss fight, this map is perfect. It's the perfect balance between all the different biomes and it's done very beautiful. I always come back to Ark to play this map

If I could play more than a few hours without crashing, I'd say I love it. The building mechanics got better, not to mention it just looks better. Too much ground foliage, but other than that, I like it. If they ever optimize it better, I'll probably go back
ASE felt more fun at the start when I didn’t now much because I didn’t realise how easy it was to craft tools again so when I heard a sound I would bold for my tiny thatch hut and stay there for 10 minutes
I got meshed last night on ASA, they failed to destroy me, ASA was preached to be rebuilt from the ground up, it clearly was not - and thats my main gripe with it.
My only gripe with Ark is the switch version apparently will no longer get maps like Valguero or Crystal isles and it feels like the devs' way of trying to force ASA
On the tame ladder idea. I expanded on that (before even watching your video) and created an entire task list for what to do before I can gain a level. It's similar in concept, but also makes sure I use some of underappreciated engrams too. The list is specific to each map and I've had a lot of fun with it
The good thing about Ragnarok is that you have all the environments in one (Forests, Snow, Desert, and Ocean). The caves are super cool, and it's a stunning map. It's great for farming, and you always have space somewhere to build your base, plus you always find high-level dinos in the wild.
ASA isnt shitty bc of the game itself. Its shitty because of what it was promised to be by devs. Instead becoming what feels like a cash grab for a drowning studio that when advised to swim, vehemetly inhalsr water like they have gills.
While ASE is basically a "Complete" Version and is still getting a lot of Love from its OG Playerbase, Objectively speaking as A Solo Singleplayer: ASA is better when it comes to Quality of Life changes. Setting up power is as simple as building a generator, slapping it down and filling it with Fuel, no fenagling around with cables and Outlets, anything within the Radius of that Generator is powered so long as its fueled, which means you don't need to sacrifice space inside Chem-benches and Fabricators for fuel since they're powered by the generator. it just makes sense to me. same goes with water, if you have an Intake and a Tank, you have a water radius. no need for pipes. and taps are now actually fun to use, I made a Shower by sticking one to a trophy mount and then covering it by a boss trophy. Dung beetles pick up sh*t right from the ground, so build up a barn/stable and yeet in a Beetle or two and they'll make fertilizer and Oil for you while you're out doing something else. same thing with Oviraptors and collecting eggs for you. Building in and of itself is also better since everything snaps and is perfectly square. so you can make some really complex buildings and it makes so much more of the Maps sloping terrain usable for building since they essentially allow you to make Basements, Cellars and secret crawl spaces. the only thing I would say Is I wish we get Half walls and Catwalks back because those Quarter walls can get real annoying when you're making big stables and Buildings. Dino Babies spawning with Parents is also a really good Mechanic, getting multiple dinos for the cost of one is always a plus. and it helps gut the more annoying aspects of some specialty tames that have those annoying specific taming methods by being able to just off the Parent and claim the little one as my own. Ceratosaurus as an example are one dinosaur I can't be assed to tame and I was lucky enough to find a baby after dealing with a roudy pair outside my claimed Territory. I named her Beyblade as she was running in circles. Im Looking forward to ASA Ragnarok and rebuilding my Mega Ranch, Griffin aerie and Wyvern rookery. it may not be the hardest map but to me It has some of the best building Locations, being wide open plains that are easily defendable and have an available water source nearby. my hot take is Bamboo is the absolute worst, I like the ferns and bushes but holy Sh*t bamboo is used far too much in some places and I've gotten into so many unnecessary fights trying to clear out bamboo with a Sickle or Theri and accidentally stabbed something or had a raptor, Dilo or Pego jump scare my face. I hate bamboo. and week later Hot take 2: why do so many 100 day gamers underutilize the industrial grinder? especially when it comes to "trash drops", you can recycle garbage into base materials so they can be used for more things. its especially annoying when it comes to saddles, you can get cementing paste, pearls and so much F*cking metal. there are some materials that you always need like hide. if you can make an Allo saddle you can make an industrial grinder, its also really useful for bullet production because you can turn piles of stone into flint. not to mention in ASA the Max material output was increased so you get even more with it.
say what you like about both of them but ase is abhorrent regarding quality of life, building something that looks at least a bit decent is a nightmare
I stop playing ark out of spending 150 days building a mansion and messing around but the moment I see you drop a new video it oddly excites me into starting a new world and actually playing how I’m suppose to. Thank you my friend
That early game grind is WHY people enjoyed scorched earth and aberration so much. The early game resource scarcity stopped people from speedrunning it even with boosted rates. About boosting rates themselves, I can understand how it would negatively affect the gameplay experience for solo players, but for groups I enjoyed lategame and modded content far more than early game struggle. It's much easier to mess around with friends and get yourself into trouble when you have an abundance of resources to throw around
True. I always find myself enjoying the game much more with friends rather than playing solo but none of my friends play Ark anymore. Some due to Ark being Ark and some due to old hardware. You cant expect 1060 to run the game well xD
I miss living in a wooden shack near south zone 2 while the alpha tribe chased me around on beezlebuffos and anyone with a level 200 pteraton was a god. Scorched earth was such an amazing addition to the survival aspect of this game back when it was unforgiving
I like ASA more due to 3 simple reasons. 1 - The graphics are amazing. I'm big on graphics and realistic lighting, and ASA does that super well. 2 - Seeing the damage on rocks, so you know how close it is to breaking. A very small QoL change but one I love. 3 - The new building system. Merging the sloped walls together, ceiling and trapdoors and frames together, windows and doors and the frames all together into just ONE item. That way building becomes wayyyy less of a headache. Also the new way that pillars work. I can't ever go back to ASE anymore because of it.
Also yeah the videos are great. Your little creature is cute and funny and your voice is nice and your videos are chill to watch even though i dont play the game. Its nice to watch your videos just because of your editing and the creature that is your character. Not the game character your blanket covered OC i can only assume. Very good videos
7:38 I think solution to this problem could be if there were specific maps where Oblisks were locked behind a on island boss cave and you had to beat the ark with only a set of creatures and resources available to you, it’d be more like a survival scenario you’d be able to experience the game in a different and unique mode, those maps could have a completely unique element to them.
here are 2 ideas for new 100 days without even having to risk ur pc getting eaten alive by possible very good hidden viruses from mods 1. spoil time 0.01, looks innocent but it makes taming, healing, eating soups for boosts or keeping ur animals alive a lot more harder 2. u have to play with fov 181, click TAB for commands and write fov 181, (again looks innocent, only u have a big view but just check it, cuz its not just a big view)
PvP servers are hit and miss for me the ones that do mandatory wipes are nice and can be played while some others are straight trash, u just need to either find the right group, the right server or a mix of both.
I miss the beginner servers... I honestly love the lvl 44 cap (+5 with chibis) were some of the funnest time I had with 3 actual years spent on ASE ever.
@Saufzwergin there were exploit that made beginner servers annoying like going to drops to get a metal wall bp and never getting raided cause you can't get c4

Yes absolutely. I actually did a video about this. It's the "100 days tame ladder" video on my channel. I would recommend atleast having auto engrams. The way I did it was I had to saddle and ride the creature before it counted. So I had the extra challenge of collecting shit to make saddles.... also you skip maewing cause the saddle takes a smithy, but the smithy is unlocked after the saddle

ASA is actually stupid. I appreciate the updated graphics but the impenetrable fog from the devs being high when tweaking the settings and and dinos spawning in the ground from them reusing code even though they said they made it from the ground up. Its been a year and these bugs are still a problem. Wild card is lazy af
If i remember correctly that was only said before release of ASA in October 2023. After that they havent said anything about it. Originally it was said that it was gonna be rebuild from ground up but due to Snail Games losing all the money and making terrible deal with Nitrado and taking loan from them under condition of ASA release before end of October 2023 otherwise they would have to pay tons of money from 8 years of ASE they had to rush the release and im assuming they had to reuse a lot of code from ASE to avoid paying all that money. If i rememeber correctly Snail Games have borrowed over 4 million USD from Marbis (Nitrado). ASA does have a lot of issues with spawning and performance but from what i know performance issues are issues with the engine itself and i wouldnt be surprised if something on engine level affected that spawning and meshing aswell but i aint a developer so im just guessing that last part. Unreal Engine has tons of issues on it's own.
a new challenge i've been trying is taming tames in the orders their saddles unlock. e.g., you can only tame a parasaur after taming a phiomia; a hyena after a raptor, etc. it forces you to use different tames. bonus points if you can only tame lvl 100s+ and can only tame something AFTER you made their saddle.
I've really been enjoying ASA. The new dinos, the map changes, it feels like playing Ark for the first time again. I don't understand why people hate the map changes so much, I launched the center for the first time and have about 90 hours in it now. Every time I see skull island and other structures I am amazed at how large they are and how much detail they have. When I saw skull island for the first time I was in awe, I took a screenshot to send to all of my buddies I used to play ark with back in 2016-2017 to show them how cool it looked.
I’ll be real, ASA is good, its the first time i’ve been properly introduced into playing Ark, i love it a lot, plus as someone who played Ark Mobile for ages, ASA was great for introducing me properly into Ark’s story and playing it properly, i’ve always loved Ark and love it even more now! Can’t wait to see how these old maps i’ve barely seen actually are in ASA seeing how awesome they have redone them.
ASA can look better on modded maps that properly utilize the engine like reference and Nyrandil (I heavily suggest making a video on one of these maps) but official maps do not utilize the engine right

The only thing i really hate about asa is that they removed leveling speed on survivors, they couldve at least nerfed it Also scorched earth was quite literally here during the beta of ark, it was rushed as hell i remember seeing scorched earth while ark was still in development and wildcard was being thrown tons of shade.
I play ark, never to completion, not once, every couple months on a server with friends. One of my main issues with ASA is how fucking expensive the servers are now that nitrado has a monopoly on it. On another note, your take on the progression is awesome and why I’ve always nipped playing “efficiently” out of my friend group (gobbling up explorer notes and min maxing, which isn’t a big problem in itself since we don’t know the maps anyway but still) Playing ark, as a survival game, how it’s intended, is fun. I’ve always looked down on people who spam notes to climb levels, I always tell my friends to shut up when they’re “not leveling up fast enough :(“ and its for good reason, it’s FUN to struggle and climb the tech tree, we don’t play that often and we still have that feeling of “what can I unlock now that I’ve levelled up, I want to make everything I can unlock” and that’s the magic of ark to me
I totally agree with the sentiment on rag, but i think rag is loved by so much of the community because it serves as a great sandbox for newer or returning players who don't want a map with an overwhelming amount of stuff on it. those kinds of people probably aren't going to make it to the bosses anyway either
For me the most important things in ARK are the wow factor of creatures and maps that make you want to explore. Fjordur is the best map for me because of this reason. I think the graphic upgrade without proper redesign is what really messed up the immersion. In ASE everything is janky so the creatures being dumb and basic feels normal, in ASA the character moves fluidly, the trees look great, the foliages are nice and thick…and here comes a pair of allo stuck floating in a tree, a Carno that looks like it’s spamming the head butt button even when it should be eating a corpse, and a raptor that’s moving its feet twice as fast as its moving because it’s lower body doesn’t have a turning animation. Same goes for the environment, like the center river on the island just doesn’t feel right because its riverbanks feel super artificial compared to everything around it. If everything have the same amount of polish like the dragons in the “dragon kingdom” mod, or at the level of Garuga’s work the wow-factor would be back. But knowing wildcard it would be completely up to the modders to do it for them.
what i like about scorched earth is that everyone has to play with pve in mind. the enviroment is literally the third player. On PVP, going raiding, hope a sandstorm doesn't hit. building defenses well electrical storms are something you have to keep in mind. territory disputes over water locations optimal building statgies. SE is an amazing map,
the majority of ARK players play single player or just play with a couple friends on a private server. so I reckon the majority of people arent gonna consider raids and stuff
@GhoulWithGruel you know what very true but the weather dynamic to me is so cool. I wish more maps did it. Sure aberration has earthquakes and extinction has meteor showers and the wastes. But, compared to map dominating forces of scorched earth weather they nothing.
By no means do I think that Scorched Earth is the best DLC map, but it is definitely my favorite. The desert vibes just feel so much more put together than the (insert blender of discordant biomes here) maps.
If ark was remade many substantial improvements could be added, for example, leveling up requires special kinds of experience which you attain by taming certain dinosaurs, and kibble for better dinos or tranqs that are effective against better dinos require the player to attain resources that you need higher level gear to attain. That way progression can be much more immersive
Do a series pls, or replace every Dino with a megalosaur (on aberration). Also for the tame ladder, did you find a source online or slam your head through your desk setting it up manually?
When was the last time you died from Compies💀 I still remember the day Carno's scared the shit out of me. I thought they were the biggest carnivores on the island. And the first time I saw a Rex, I was like, 'What the f*** is that?!' It’s humongous! Pure nostalgia.
ASA for me is a much needed upgrade to ASE with full mod support, full cross platform playablility, faster loading especially on heavier modded servers, and improved building AI
Back when i got ASE for the first time i think i was 11 and my dads work pc couldn't handle it. So i LITERALLY had 0.5 frames per second and kept crashing after 15 minutes of loading into the game and one time i didnt crash and got killed in a brutal fistfight with a dilo. 10/10 Would go back to those days
Idk if it’s a bug anyone else has in ASA, but there are often times when my death bag would spawn under the map and I have to ghost just to get it back. More often than not, it’s after I’ve gotten some really good gear from drops and such, so I can’t stand just having to let that go. I never had to do that in Evolved.
I wish I could get into Asa it looks beautiful, but I recently went back to ase to play all the custom maps and have been having way more fun, maybe I’ll get around to Asa eventually
5:44 My first time playing ark, which was on mobile, sucked. My brother’s iPhone was the only thing that could even run it. We ran around the peninsula to the south of the island and then died after eating our own feces. A few years later, once I was older, I decided to play ark again. It was one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had on my iPhone. Even though after 2 hours I still didn’t have a thatch base (I didn’t know pickaxes farmed thatch so I was using a hatchet) and after probably 10 hours I still didn’t stone tools. Even though I barely progressed (even on easy mode), I still had a ton of fun. It was moments that now, might seem ordinary, like my first time seeing a Rex across the inlet, made it a ton of fun. I think the commenter forgot about things like that. Things that actually made it fun aren’t fun for us now.
The guy that said ASA runs good, is the least real thing ever, my PC is very good, it can run with best settings on ASE, All the mods 10 with sildurs, any other game with unreal 5 runs smooth on it even BUT ASA FOR SOME REASON HAS 10 FPS ON LOWEST SETTINGS (plus they need to add mods to ASE on console too)
If there is anyone that has never played the game on official pvp, the only thing I would tell them is that your life is about to be devoted to this game. Which includes putting your job at risk, putting off seeing friends/family, neglecting your health by not exercising daily and not getting adequate sleep. Trust me. I played in a mega, in a smaller tribe and played solo. It was the same in all three, with some differences between them. In general the game becomes your life, and depending on your circumstances… it’s not good.
The thing is, ASA can only go up. Once they finish adapting the maps and assuming they actually fix a lot of the bugs the game will be more fun with all the stuff they added. I don't play official so I can't fully speak on it, but I do wish they would stop power creeping all the new dinos and DLCs.
I’m a bit late to the party but… Here’s my take on ASA: As someone who joined Ase when Fjordur came out, it was love at first sight. I never really experienced the major bugs from previous maps because I hadn’t touched video games before 2021. Sure there were plenty of minor bugs but nothing crazy. Fast forward a year and ASA was getting hyped up, so I wait till it’s release at like 2 am my time on a school night. Running a lower end pc it defy didn’t run great but it was enjoyable enough for me to be satisfied with the purchase. When mods started rolling out that made it even better. Between Asa’s launch and now I believe performance has significantly improved and dispite them breaking a ton when they have updates it’s become part of the process. Scorched has been hands down the best map so far in Ada with aberration right behind it. Why do I say that? For one Scorched had the least amount of game breaking bugs when it was introduced. Sure some bugs were there like the morellorops getting mad at tents, and the weather events being out of whack but it was the best start of a map we’ve had. Finally a map that wasn’t the island and a sight for sore eyes. I think once it has all 13 maps and content out, and a year to bake in, Asa will be much better than Ase. Asa also provides quality of life stuff like wireless generators and water taps, oviraptor and dung beetle collection eggs and feces, and a way to toggle the stupid fog off. I probably could add much more but I’ll leave it here for now.
Honestly, I always thought ASA was good and all, but they need to add more creatures (Or just add all the ones that were from ASE). I REALLY enjoyed fighting the iceworm queen and taming the corrupted dinos....BRING BACK THE CORRUPTED DINOS!!!!!
As a new ASA player I have found it difficult to progress at the start of the game I keep getting grieved or frustrated with no indication that what I have found is a material or just the environment. As a result I bent played the game in about a year and I never managed to make a base or tame a dino
6:00 I agree!! I think Ark also kind of suffers from "Half the fun is figuring out what the hell you're supposed to do, but then once you're a vet, that spark has dulled a bit" kinda situation imo. I still remember a good friend and I playing Ark for the first time, and just CRYING LAUGHING because of all the wild shit that happened just because we had NO idea 🤣🤣🤣 Some prime examples: - We did not know to stay out of the swamp, and had no idea what a kapro was. Cut to use screaming in panic as you were launched across the map in the jaws of said dino. - Our first tickle chicken encounter - Us trying to knock out an alpha raptor to tame, and it ending EXACTLY as you'd expect - Discovering a cool new island and quickly going "SHIT SHIT SHIT" because EVERYTHING WANTED TO EAT US (Carno island lol) - Us accidently shooting a bronto and it just killing ALL of our early tames because we didn't really understand whistle commands
Honestly my first 15 hours on ark was on a pvp server I think you can see where I went wrong I didn’t know about single player until earlier this year and god I love it more than pvp
delays aren't an ASA restrictive thing, they were a problem in ASE as well. Scorched Earth was the first DC and sadly suffered from it. Carnos are annoying for me because they are consistently everywhere, you are rarely safe from them in the green spawn zones and are arguably a lot scarier than rexes because you can outrun or out maneuver a large hulking rex while the carno just yeets you with its headbutt.
At this point, I play ark like day to day life in a Dino infested world would be like with giant scaley reptiles. I don't do pvp because.. we all know why. So I just stick with my 38 babies that could absolutely demolish me. Feeding them, going on little missions with them, and so on so forth. At this point I can say most of them have been through thick and thin with me unlike most people. So to me ark is a sort of comfort that layers my love for dinosaurs
What's your most devastating loss? Mine was an argy I named B-CAM. He was naturally bubblegum pink, his name stood for Breast Cancer Awareness Month because why not. Anywho, there was a giga in the area between my base and my allies. So we devised an ill fated mission to at the very least kite him away. It all went bad when my allies lost their Wolfpack( ten wolves all bred from a single pair, it was devastating) so I go in on B-CAM to try and distract the giga from my now unmounted pals. It worked, they got away, but that bastard snatched me right from the air with its ridiculous range. But my allies set up a little headstone monument to B-CAM in their base. So that was pretty cool.
@splatninja9447 Mine was a Raptor named Bibi(she was a light jade with a black underbelly). She was my first ever female, whom I bred with with my first ever male (completely red) named Ral (short for Rally- pack Alpha). I remember taming them in February, I first got Paelis, my pterodactyl in the air for future tame hunting. After a few hours, I went back to base, where I saw a level 4 Raptor heading to my island. It was 10:00PM at night and I was estadic since it would be my first ever Velecoraptor. So I tamed him, named it Ral, and tamed some more males. Jude, Rudy, then June (second female tamed), but Bibi was my first and best. Enough to be second in command of the raptor pack. With them, I took them on little hunts and stuff. The last raptor I tamed was a rust colored female who is now near 50 in level. (Leveling is slow) named Rusty. During this time, I took Stinger my Baryonx, Ral, Bibi, Sage(baby between Ral and Bibi), and Rusty to get an artifact. On the way down, Ral and Sage got separated from us, leaving me, Stinger, Bibi, and Rusty to clear out the cave. During this, Bibi got knocked out, so I waited next to her with the others. And that's when I saw her health decrease rapidly. I could not put the devastation into words. The same thing happened with Rusty, but she didn't die like Bibi did. So I found my two missing raptors took them all out the cave and went home. Placing Bibi's implant in the storage of the previous dinos who've fallen and gave Sage Bibi's saddle. I had more dinos fall, but none being able to get teary-eyed like Bibi did. After that, I got a bit protective of where my dinos went since I think of them more like my children, unlike pea brained lizards who mindlessly do my bidding. Ral has almost died going toe to toe with a bronto that Me and Carmel (my bronto that looks like a Carmel milkshake) were fighting. And let me say I was surprised when he won.
If ASA is good or bad doesn't matter if your pc can't run it.

cheaper probably refers to the game + the story dlc
it is cheaper, when ark survival evolved released it was the same price as every other big game that released and thats without any dlcs. ark ascended comes along thats half the price of all other big games out now without the dlcs and even with the dlcs its still cheaper than the triple a base games let alone cheaper than ase with all of its dlcs at the time of its release.

2:50 for pve players like me who just like to enjoy the game, explore the map, tame dinos, build a nice base etc and not rush to a boss fight, this map is perfect. It's the perfect balance between all the different biomes and it's done very beautiful. I always come back to Ark to play this map

If I could play more than a few hours without crashing, I'd say I love it. The building mechanics got better, not to mention it just looks better. Too much ground foliage, but other than that, I like it. If they ever optimize it better, I'll probably go back
ASE felt more fun at the start when I didn’t now much because I didn’t realise how easy it was to craft tools again so when I heard a sound I would bold for my tiny thatch hut and stay there for 10 minutes
I got meshed last night on ASA, they failed to destroy me, ASA was preached to be rebuilt from the ground up, it clearly was not - and thats my main gripe with it.

Ark at the start is better when you don’t watch to much content about it because the feeling of seeing unknown Dino’s is scary but interesting
On the tame ladder idea. I expanded on that (before even watching your video) and created an entire task list for what to do before I can gain a level. It's similar in concept, but also makes sure I use some of underappreciated engrams too. The list is specific to each map and I've had a lot of fun with it
I think the problem is not if ASE is better or worse than ASA, its the fact that anything that ASA has could been come as an update to ASE
The good thing about Ragnarok is that you have all the environments in one (Forests, Snow, Desert, and Ocean). The caves are super cool, and it's a stunning map. It's great for farming, and you always have space somewhere to build your base, plus you always find high-level dinos in the wild.

ASA isnt shitty bc of the game itself. Its shitty because of what it was promised to be by devs. Instead becoming what feels like a cash grab for a drowning studio that when advised to swim, vehemetly inhalsr water like they have gills.
While ASE is basically a "Complete" Version and is still getting a lot of Love from its OG Playerbase, Objectively speaking as A Solo Singleplayer: ASA is better when it comes to Quality of Life changes.
Setting up power is as simple as building a generator, slapping it down and filling it with Fuel, no fenagling around with cables and Outlets, anything within the Radius of that Generator is powered so long as its fueled, which means you don't need to sacrifice space inside Chem-benches and Fabricators for fuel since they're powered by the generator. it just makes sense to me.
same goes with water, if you have an Intake and a Tank, you have a water radius. no need for pipes. and taps are now actually fun to use, I made a Shower by sticking one to a trophy mount and then covering it by a boss trophy.
Dung beetles pick up sh*t right from the ground, so build up a barn/stable and yeet in a Beetle or two and they'll make fertilizer and Oil for you while you're out doing something else. same thing with Oviraptors and collecting eggs for you.
Building in and of itself is also better since everything snaps and is perfectly square. so you can make some really complex buildings and it makes so much more of the Maps sloping terrain usable for building since they essentially allow you to make Basements, Cellars and secret crawl spaces. the only thing I would say Is I wish we get Half walls and Catwalks back because those Quarter walls can get real annoying when you're making big stables and Buildings.
Dino Babies spawning with Parents is also a really good Mechanic, getting multiple dinos for the cost of one is always a plus. and it helps gut the more annoying aspects of some specialty tames that have those annoying specific taming methods by being able to just off the Parent and claim the little one as my own. Ceratosaurus as an example are one dinosaur I can't be assed to tame and I was lucky enough to find a baby after dealing with a roudy pair outside my claimed Territory. I named her Beyblade as she was running in circles.
Im Looking forward to ASA Ragnarok and rebuilding my Mega Ranch, Griffin aerie and Wyvern rookery. it may not be the hardest map but to me It has some of the best building Locations, being wide open plains that are easily defendable and have an available water source nearby.
my hot take is Bamboo is the absolute worst, I like the ferns and bushes but holy Sh*t bamboo is used far too much in some places and I've gotten into so many unnecessary fights trying to clear out bamboo with a Sickle or Theri and accidentally stabbed something or had a raptor, Dilo or Pego jump scare my face. I hate bamboo.
and week later Hot take 2: why do so many 100 day gamers underutilize the industrial grinder? especially when it comes to "trash drops", you can recycle garbage into base materials so they can be used for more things. its especially annoying when it comes to saddles, you can get cementing paste, pearls and so much F*cking metal. there are some materials that you always need like hide. if you can make an Allo saddle you can make an industrial grinder, its also really useful for bullet production because you can turn piles of stone into flint. not to mention in ASA the Max material output was increased so you get even more with it.

That early game grind is WHY people enjoyed scorched earth and aberration so much. The early game resource scarcity stopped people from speedrunning it even with boosted rates. About boosting rates themselves, I can understand how it would negatively affect the gameplay experience for solo players, but for groups I enjoyed lategame and modded content far more than early game struggle. It's much easier to mess around with friends and get yourself into trouble when you have an abundance of resources to throw around
True. I always find myself enjoying the game much more with friends rather than playing solo but none of my friends play Ark anymore. Some due to Ark being Ark and some due to old hardware. You cant expect 1060 to run the game well xD

I like ASA more due to 3 simple reasons.
1 - The graphics are amazing. I'm big on graphics and realistic lighting, and ASA does that super well.
2 - Seeing the damage on rocks, so you know how close it is to breaking. A very small QoL change but one I love.
3 - The new building system. Merging the sloped walls together, ceiling and trapdoors and frames together, windows and doors and the frames all together into just ONE item. That way building becomes wayyyy less of a headache. Also the new way that pillars work. I can't ever go back to ASE anymore because of it.
Also yeah the videos are great. Your little creature is cute and funny and your voice is nice and your videos are chill to watch even though i dont play the game. Its nice to watch your videos just because of your editing and the creature that is your character. Not the game character your blanket covered OC i can only assume. Very good videos
7:38 I think solution to this problem could be if there were specific maps where Oblisks were locked behind a on island boss cave and you had to beat the ark with only a set of creatures and resources available to you, it’d be more like a survival scenario you’d be able to experience the game in a different and unique mode, those maps could have a completely unique element to them.

here are 2 ideas for new 100 days without even having to risk ur pc getting eaten alive by possible very good hidden viruses from mods
1. spoil time 0.01, looks innocent but it makes taming, healing, eating soups for boosts or keeping ur animals alive a lot more harder
2. u have to play with fov 181, click TAB for commands and write fov 181, (again looks innocent, only u have a big view but just check it, cuz its not just a big view)

PvP servers are hit and miss for me the ones that do mandatory wipes are nice and can be played while some others are straight trash, u just need to either find the right group, the right server or a mix of both.

Yes absolutely. I actually did a video about this. It's the "100 days tame ladder" video on my channel.
I would recommend atleast having auto engrams. The way I did it was I had to saddle and ride the creature before it counted. So I had the extra challenge of collecting shit to make saddles.... also you skip maewing cause the saddle takes a smithy, but the smithy is unlocked after the saddle

I appreciate the updated graphics but the impenetrable fog from the devs being high when tweaking the settings and and dinos spawning in the ground from them reusing code even though they said they made it from the ground up. Its been a year and these bugs are still a problem. Wild card is lazy af
If i remember correctly that was only said before release of ASA in October 2023. After that they havent said anything about it. Originally it was said that it was gonna be rebuild from ground up but due to Snail Games losing all the money and making terrible deal with Nitrado and taking loan from them under condition of ASA release before end of October 2023 otherwise they would have to pay tons of money from 8 years of ASE they had to rush the release and im assuming they had to reuse a lot of code from ASE to avoid paying all that money. If i rememeber correctly Snail Games have borrowed over 4 million USD from Marbis (Nitrado).
ASA does have a lot of issues with spawning and performance but from what i know performance issues are issues with the engine itself and i wouldnt be surprised if something on engine level affected that spawning and meshing aswell but i aint a developer so im just guessing that last part. Unreal Engine has tons of issues on it's own.

a new challenge i've been trying is taming tames in the orders their saddles unlock. e.g., you can only tame a parasaur after taming a phiomia; a hyena after a raptor, etc. it forces you to use different tames. bonus points if you can only tame lvl 100s+ and can only tame something AFTER you made their saddle.

I've really been enjoying ASA. The new dinos, the map changes, it feels like playing Ark for the first time again. I don't understand why people hate the map changes so much, I launched the center for the first time and have about 90 hours in it now. Every time I see skull island and other structures I am amazed at how large they are and how much detail they have. When I saw skull island for the first time I was in awe, I took a screenshot to send to all of my buddies I used to play ark with back in 2016-2017 to show them how cool it looked.
Okay as I look back maybe it's not the best but still good (Also thank you for putting me in the video you are truly my favourite content creator).
I’ll be real, ASA is good, its the first time i’ve been properly introduced into playing Ark, i love it a lot, plus as someone who played Ark Mobile for ages, ASA was great for introducing me properly into Ark’s story and playing it properly, i’ve always loved Ark and love it even more now!
Can’t wait to see how these old maps i’ve barely seen actually are in ASA seeing how awesome they have redone them.

I play ark, never to completion, not once, every couple months on a server with friends. One of my main issues with ASA is how fucking expensive the servers are now that nitrado has a monopoly on it.
On another note, your take on the progression is awesome and why I’ve always nipped playing “efficiently” out of my friend group (gobbling up explorer notes and min maxing, which isn’t a big problem in itself since we don’t know the maps anyway but still)
Playing ark, as a survival game, how it’s intended, is fun. I’ve always looked down on people who spam notes to climb levels, I always tell my friends to shut up when they’re “not leveling up fast enough :(“ and its for good reason, it’s FUN to struggle and climb the tech tree, we don’t play that often and we still have that feeling of “what can I unlock now that I’ve levelled up, I want to make everything I can unlock” and that’s the magic of ark to me
the one problem I have is that sometime when I go like 50 feet away from my tames they just vanish, die, or are under the map.
I totally agree with the sentiment on rag, but i think rag is loved by so much of the community because it serves as a great sandbox for newer or returning players who don't want a map with an overwhelming amount of stuff on it. those kinds of people probably aren't going to make it to the bosses anyway either

For me the most important things in ARK are the wow factor of creatures and maps that make you want to explore. Fjordur is the best map for me because of this reason.
I think the graphic upgrade without proper redesign is what really messed up the immersion. In ASE everything is janky so the creatures being dumb and basic feels normal, in ASA the character moves fluidly, the trees look great, the foliages are nice and thick…and here comes a pair of allo stuck floating in a tree, a Carno that looks like it’s spamming the head butt button even when it should be eating a corpse, and a raptor that’s moving its feet twice as fast as its moving because it’s lower body doesn’t have a turning animation.
Same goes for the environment, like the center river on the island just doesn’t feel right because its riverbanks feel super artificial compared to everything around it.
If everything have the same amount of polish like the dragons in the “dragon kingdom” mod, or at the level of Garuga’s work the wow-factor would be back. But knowing wildcard it would be completely up to the modders to do it for them.

what i like about scorched earth is that everyone has to play with pve in mind. the enviroment is literally the third player. On PVP, going raiding, hope a sandstorm doesn't hit. building defenses well electrical storms are something you have to keep in mind. territory disputes over water locations optimal building statgies. SE is an amazing map,
the majority of ARK players play single player or just play with a couple friends on a private server. so I reckon the majority of people arent gonna consider raids and stuff
@GhoulWithGruel you know what very true but the weather dynamic to me is so cool. I wish more maps did it. Sure aberration has earthquakes and extinction has meteor showers and the wastes. But, compared to map dominating forces of scorched earth weather they nothing.
By no means do I think that Scorched Earth is the best DLC map, but it is definitely my favorite. The desert vibes just feel so much more put together than the (insert blender of discordant biomes here) maps.

If ark was remade many substantial improvements could be added, for example, leveling up requires special kinds of experience which you attain by taming certain dinosaurs, and kibble for better dinos or tranqs that are effective against better dinos require the player to attain resources that you need higher level gear to attain. That way progression can be much more immersive

ASA for me is a much needed upgrade to ASE with full mod support, full cross platform playablility, faster loading especially on heavier modded servers, and improved building AI

Back when i got ASE for the first time i think i was 11 and my dads work pc couldn't handle it. So i LITERALLY had 0.5 frames per second and kept crashing after 15 minutes of loading into the game and one time i didnt crash and got killed in a brutal fistfight with a dilo. 10/10 Would go back to those days

Idk if it’s a bug anyone else has in ASA, but there are often times when my death bag would spawn under the map and I have to ghost just to get it back. More often than not, it’s after I’ve gotten some really good gear from drops and such, so I can’t stand just having to let that go.
I never had to do that in Evolved.

5:44 My first time playing ark, which was on mobile, sucked. My brother’s iPhone was the only thing that could even run it. We ran around the peninsula to the south of the island and then died after eating our own feces.
A few years later, once I was older, I decided to play ark again. It was one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had on my iPhone. Even though after 2 hours I still didn’t have a thatch base (I didn’t know pickaxes farmed thatch so I was using a hatchet) and after probably 10 hours I still didn’t stone tools.
Even though I barely progressed (even on easy mode), I still had a ton of fun. It was moments that now, might seem ordinary, like my first time seeing a Rex across the inlet, made it a ton of fun. I think the commenter forgot about things like that. Things that actually made it fun aren’t fun for us now.
I love ASA, having mods on Console is great. I love having an Indominus Rex and Indoraptor in my game.
Do more of these type of videos please. Fills the gap between your masochistic playthroughs.

The guy that said ASA runs good, is the least real thing ever, my PC is very good, it can run with best settings on ASE, All the mods 10 with sildurs, any other game with unreal 5 runs smooth on it even BUT ASA FOR SOME REASON HAS 10 FPS ON LOWEST SETTINGS (plus they need to add mods to ASE on console too)

If there is anyone that has never played the game on official pvp, the only thing I would tell them is that your life is about to be devoted to this game. Which includes putting your job at risk, putting off seeing friends/family, neglecting your health by not exercising daily and not getting adequate sleep.
Trust me. I played in a mega, in a smaller tribe and played solo. It was the same in all three, with some differences between them. In general the game becomes your life, and depending on your circumstances… it’s not good.
The thing is, ASA can only go up. Once they finish adapting the maps and assuming they actually fix a lot of the bugs the game will be more fun with all the stuff they added. I don't play official so I can't fully speak on it, but I do wish they would stop power creeping all the new dinos and DLCs.

I’m a bit late to the party but…
Here’s my take on ASA: As someone who joined Ase when Fjordur came out, it was love at first sight. I never really experienced the major bugs from previous maps because I hadn’t touched video games before 2021. Sure there were plenty of minor bugs but nothing crazy.
Fast forward a year and ASA was getting hyped up, so I wait till it’s release at like 2 am my time on a school night. Running a lower end pc it defy didn’t run great but it was enjoyable enough for me to be satisfied with the purchase. When mods started rolling out that made it even better. Between Asa’s launch and now I believe performance has significantly improved and dispite them breaking a ton when they have updates it’s become part of the process.
Scorched has been hands down the best map so far in Ada with aberration right behind it. Why do I say that? For one Scorched had the least amount of game breaking bugs when it was introduced. Sure some bugs were there like the morellorops getting mad at tents, and the weather events being out of whack but it was the best start of a map we’ve had. Finally a map that wasn’t the island and a sight for sore eyes.
I think once it has all 13 maps and content out, and a year to bake in, Asa will be much better than Ase.
Asa also provides quality of life stuff like wireless generators and water taps, oviraptor and dung beetle collection eggs and feces, and a way to toggle the stupid fog off.
I probably could add much more but I’ll leave it here for now.

As a new ASA player I have found it difficult to progress at the start of the game I keep getting grieved or frustrated with no indication that what I have found is a material or just the environment. As a result I bent played the game in about a year and I never managed to make a base or tame a dino

6:00 I agree!! I think Ark also kind of suffers from "Half the fun is figuring out what the hell you're supposed to do, but then once you're a vet, that spark has dulled a bit" kinda situation imo. I still remember a good friend and I playing Ark for the first time, and just CRYING LAUGHING because of all the wild shit that happened just because we had NO idea 🤣🤣🤣
Some prime examples:
- We did not know to stay out of the swamp, and had no idea what a kapro was. Cut to use screaming in panic as you were launched across the map in the jaws of said dino.
- Our first tickle chicken encounter
- Us trying to knock out an alpha raptor to tame, and it ending EXACTLY as you'd expect
- Discovering a cool new island and quickly going "SHIT SHIT SHIT" because EVERYTHING WANTED TO EAT US (Carno island lol)
- Us accidently shooting a bronto and it just killing ALL of our early tames because we didn't really understand whistle commands
Honestly my first 15 hours on ark was on a pvp server I think you can see where I went wrong I didn’t know about single player until earlier this year and god I love it more than pvp

delays aren't an ASA restrictive thing, they were a problem in ASE as well. Scorched Earth was the first DC and sadly suffered from it.
Carnos are annoying for me because they are consistently everywhere, you are rarely safe from them in the green spawn zones and are arguably a lot scarier than rexes because you can outrun or out maneuver a large hulking rex while the carno just yeets you with its headbutt.
I got one hot take too, if you can run ASA at epic settings and get at least 40 fps, play on epic. You don't need 120+ fps, especially in ARK
I am glad some people are enjoying modern Ark. Instead of being upset about the changes I have made it a positive memory. Godspeed survivors. 🍃👀🍃
At this point, I play ark like day to day life in a Dino infested world would be like with giant scaley reptiles. I don't do pvp because.. we all know why. So I just stick with my 38 babies that could absolutely demolish me. Feeding them, going on little missions with them, and so on so forth. At this point I can say most of them have been through thick and thin with me unlike most people. So to me ark is a sort of comfort that layers my love for dinosaurs
What's your most devastating loss? Mine was an argy I named B-CAM. He was naturally bubblegum pink, his name stood for Breast Cancer Awareness Month because why not. Anywho, there was a giga in the area between my base and my allies. So we devised an ill fated mission to at the very least kite him away. It all went bad when my allies lost their Wolfpack( ten wolves all bred from a single pair, it was devastating) so I go in on B-CAM to try and distract the giga from my now unmounted pals. It worked, they got away, but that bastard snatched me right from the air with its ridiculous range. But my allies set up a little headstone monument to B-CAM in their base. So that was pretty cool.
@splatninja9447 Mine was a Raptor named Bibi(she was a light jade with a black underbelly). She was my first ever female, whom I bred with with my first ever male (completely red) named Ral (short for Rally- pack Alpha). I remember taming them in February, I first got Paelis, my pterodactyl in the air for future tame hunting. After a few hours, I went back to base, where I saw a level 4 Raptor heading to my island. It was 10:00PM at night and I was estadic since it would be my first ever Velecoraptor. So I tamed him, named it Ral, and tamed some more males. Jude, Rudy, then June (second female tamed), but Bibi was my first and best. Enough to be second in command of the raptor pack. With them, I took them on little hunts and stuff. The last raptor I tamed was a rust colored female who is now near 50 in level. (Leveling is slow) named Rusty. During this time, I took Stinger my Baryonx, Ral, Bibi, Sage(baby between Ral and Bibi), and Rusty to get an artifact. On the way down, Ral and Sage got separated from us, leaving me, Stinger, Bibi, and Rusty to clear out the cave. During this, Bibi got knocked out, so I waited next to her with the others. And that's when I saw her health decrease rapidly. I could not put the devastation into words. The same thing happened with Rusty, but she didn't die like Bibi did. So I found my two missing raptors took them all out the cave and went home. Placing Bibi's implant in the storage of the previous dinos who've fallen and gave Sage Bibi's saddle. I had more dinos fall, but none being able to get teary-eyed like Bibi did. After that, I got a bit protective of where my dinos went since I think of them more like my children, unlike pea brained lizards who mindlessly do my bidding. Ral has almost died going toe to toe with a bronto that Me and Carmel (my bronto that looks like a Carmel milkshake) were fighting. And let me say I was surprised when he won.
