    Pricey, yes, but when you think about it, this machine is a lifetime investment. You buy this machine and theoretically you never have to buy another espresso machine again, just keep fixing this one when something goes wrong.

    I own an ECM Synchronika. Except for the slightly nicer design of the Marzocco (which is my opinion, but still quite arguable, since the classic ECM E61 machine is also pretty nice): Does this machine offer anything the ECM does not offer?
    Or in other words: Would I gain any real world imrpovement if I „upgraded“ from the Syncronika to the Linea Mini?

    • @alexzigky8728

    • @OhDearBabajan
      @OhDearBabajan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexzigky8728what about temperature control? The LMLM is NSF certified and has better temperature stability than the ECM Sym. This all makes it a sound option for a small cafe setting. But for home use, the Syn offers things the LMLM doesn’t like pressure profiling? Which you can also get on the LMLM if you mod it. You likely wont pressure profile in a commercial setting though.

    Great video. I have the LM and I am struggling extracting a good espresso without channeling in the puck using the bottomless portafilter. Have you tried that with success or could you give me some advice on how to reduce channeling?. I have a Ceado e37s grinder and I dose 18 grams in and 26 grams out in a 17 gram basket. That’s quite a big drink, takes a lot of steam to get it up to temperature - you could get away with a couple (I presume) but you run the risk of using steam faster than the machine can make more. It wouldn’t be a problem if the machine had some time to recover in between though.

    • @howdyitsdavid
      @howdyitsdavid 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've got an apartamento and think that literally the only reason to pay double+ for the Linea is looks. Some features on it, like where the reservoir is located, actually suck a lot more on the Linea. Granted I am a home barista and do not need a plumbed machine for 3-4 shots per day.

    • @socomon69
      @socomon69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@howdyitsdavid The plus of the reservoir on the bottom is the water won't get warm. My Bianca has the reservoir external to the machine and I like that. My old HX machine had the water internal and it would get warm from the boiler and it would get funky over time.

    • @Kref3
      @Kref3 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel Hendricks I‘m not sure. I really don‘t know the big improvement I would get from this machine if I traded my ECM Synchronika in. I asked the question somewhere in here, maybe someone can give me a good point that the LM really does better.
      Still it does not offer any flow control, it has a „paddle“ which is not really a paddle but only an on/off switch.
      If you really look for the holy grail, take a look at LaMarzocco‘s GS-3 MP with its real paddle. That would be the true holy grail, where I really see the benefit over a but dual boiler E61 machine.

    • @danmetzler7687
      @danmetzler7687 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thorsten Latz Lelit Bianca if you want flow control. I’ve asked a lot of people, and nobody can give me tangible details about what la Marzocco actually brings to the table besides brand name and aesthetics. In terms of functionality alone, the price is ridiculous. (Also, is it not incredibly frustrating to anyone else that they used a paddle to implement an on-off switch? Like...why?? So it *looks* like it has flow control? From a workflow perspective, that switch has no benefits over a simple toggle switch)
