I genuinely adore the evolution of Tony's suits. First he started with a box of scraps, then he made his first genuine armor, then he resolved issues regarding that armor, then he went and explored portability, which led to his streamlining of an automated deployment system and so on so forth. It's so satisfying seeing how his tech evolved as it did, because it feels so natural.

I love the older suits because they actually looked believable, you saw every part piece together. The mark 48 and mark 50 don't feel realistic because it falls into the trap of "oh, its nanotech" and allows them to get as cgi as they want.
It's actually a relatively small upgrade to regular tech that will become available within 30-50 years or so. Basically, what we need is an AI capable of managing the form changes... the only other component that we really lack is the nonsensical amounts of energy generation needed to run it but every suit has an arc reactor and almost all have the upgraded version with the new stable high mass element. The nanotech bots are ironically the easiest and most believable component in that mix
Nanotech isn't the issue for real world. The amount of energy for something like this is the issue. We have a lot of nanotech experience and we would be probably able to build even his suit with some (not all) technologies he uses. But the amount of power to run something like that... Oh god, nah, we are not there yet. In fact, in entire MCU is 1 biggest sci-fi aspect. Endless clean energy. Because it breaks laws of physics by perpetual energy. Well, it is true you would be able to create small reactor disolving palladium and creating energy, but, there is real toxicity of this material (you would die probably in days using something like that) and for sure it wouldn't generate that much energy to power something that huge as Iron Man suit is. Not even talking about nanotech version. You can technically create Spider-Man webs, Captain America super shield, exploding arrows from Hawkeye, you can create Iron Man suit, even nanotech one, you would be able to create some kind of hammer that woukd be extremely heavy for majority of people and just someone with for example right fingerprints would be able to lift it up. But we don't have endless clean energy. The biggest jump we expect on that path are fusion reactors but estimated time is still around 30 years to have something 100% working and sustainable. It's not endless energy but it uses same mechanism as our Sun does. And the Sun, well... It will be here longer than us, let's put it that way :)
what the video said is that "the mark 19 was so fast it could do a sonic boom" thats nothing new since the mark 3 was able to do that during the fight with the f22 raptors. the pilot mentions that "bogey went supersonic" before locking and firing a missile

If you pay close attention, when Tony uses his Nano-Tech suit in Infinity War, he takes off his Edith glasses. Now when he does this, they disappear. This is because his glasses are also Nano-Tech, and they comfortably collapse into his suit like a pocket. What about the glass? It isn't glass. It is simply a Holographic lenses. Congrats, you learned something.
Well, James Rodes’s (Rhodey) War Machine’s armor isn’t made for high tech gadgets like Iron Man suits. War Machine was mainly guns, rockets, etc. Even Rhodey said in Iron man 2, when Stark told the biggest gun to be up top, Rhodey Insisted because he had the most guns and he said “It’s Called Being A Badass.”
I personally think the reason for him having all his suits coded to him as he states in the 3rd movie, is partially because of the nano chips he used to summon them, and to prevent people from stealing the suits. He learned that the hard way when Rhodey took his suit then flew off to the U.S Military with it and let Hammer customize it.
Aesthetically, the Mk46 strikes the perfect balance between sleek and mechanical look. But as for which one is the best? Almost unquestionably the Mk85. If there's one material more broken OP in the MCU than Vibranium, it has to be Stark Nanotech.
It's all a little too fancy and conveniently powerful at this point. One of the coolest things about Iron Man in particular originally was that his armor seemed to be vulnerable and limited in functionality, even if it was the coolest and most powerful exoskeleton the audience had ever seen. The MkV is a great example of that old "Wow" factor that we might never see with tech in the MCU again. It's like anymore something that should be gobstoppingly cool just kind of rolls off as "Oh, Yeah. Vibranium/Magic/Nanotech/Infinity Stones- of course."

I love the mk6 suit with the new element in the arc reactor and how much more powerful it is than any of the previous ones. Also, after that one I feel like they kinda lost the bulky/muscly look.

I loved the suit given to Pepper Potts! It highly resembles the one made in iron man: armored adventures (2009 animated series), and actually in that series Pepper becomes a heroine by the name of Rescue! Great nod indeed.
Mark III will forever be my favorite mostly because it gave Tony an extremely cool robotic voice. It's also the one that looks the most realistic and grounded.
I love the Mark 50 and 80. The futuristic, practically unlimited functionality and creativity appeal were awesome. It inspires me of what future advancements and technology could do, and hopefully I can do. The evolution of the Armor really show how Tony Stark evolved as a character. HIs arc and character inspires and motivates me.
Within the MCU, I like the Mark 45-47. Specifically the Mark 45 since that suit focuses more on combat ability versus the Mark 46-47 which both seem to be used more so for utility and restraint instead. All three suits still keep in “realism” having the most sleek designs and most advanced upgrades before the CGI of nanotech, in which case ofc the Mark 85 is my favorite out of that line since it is the ultimate culmination of all of Tony’s work.
I like the fact that Jarvis can have humor and be sarcastic Tony: Throw a little hot rod red in there Jarvis: “Yes that should help you keep a low profile🙄” I love it😂
RDJ's description of the evolution of Tony Stark and his suits was always amazing. The first bout of suits were about protecting Tony and insuring that he makes it back. Being selfish, but by the time he gets to the Mk. 50 is all about making sure the deed gets done, and not insuring that he makes it back. Sefless. And it showed the first suits were mini tanks, the Mk. 50 while i'm sure insanely durable, was made to have a tool for almost any situation, but as we see wasn't built to protect his ego, but to protect everyone else.
how sick would it be if they jumped from mk 7 to mk 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, to mk 85, and then at the end of endgame all the skipped suits show up out of knowhere

Cool little detail: If you pause at 1:20 you can see his eyes through the eye slots when the suit's power goes out. Reminds me of the old school comics where they would zoom in on his helmet to show his eyes and expression while in the armour.
I’m looking forward to what Peter does with the new spider suits. He’s demonstrated the ability to understand Tony’s tech and properly customizing suits on the fly, and at this point he’s gained pretty much full access to Tony’s systems.
The Mark 5 is defenetly my favorite! overall the perfect balance between design, usebility and sheere awsomenes. the Wiplash vs Mark 5 fight and the transformation of the armor will always be my favorite scenes in the MCU. Mark 39 at 2 place and 41 beeing third cuz I love the idea of stripping armor off a exo skeleton to make it faster and more agile to spesific situations. mark 22 will altho be my favorite when it comes to design alone. Heartbreaker coming right after that and 34, 35 and 36 at the bottom of my favorites. I also like the Idea of multiple Arc Reactors to spread power thruo out the suit and make it stronger as in Mark 44 and 46. and my next opinion might be contreversial, but Mark 50 and all nano tec suits after actually is my least favorite suits. I respect them as they are a huge step upp for Tony Stark, but as a gearhead that loves mechanisms and the idea of relying on sheere mechanical strength (wich is why Im sad he cant use the suits without power, if only as pure armor and some mechanical advanteges), the nano tec suits just doesnt hit me the same way. but with that said I do love Tony Starks progression, and that he actually managed to make the nano tec!

50-85 was probably just updates to the Nano tech suit. The was no reason to make more than one suit when the Nano bots can just make updates on the go.
13:15 Apparently the hulkbuster suit used in infinity war is is the mk48, and the mk49 is actually the “rescue” suit used by pepper in the final fight of avengers endgame which makes sense given that it works much like the mk50 but less advanced
Personally, I think that the MK 50 and 85 are extremely streamlined and combat capable, which is obviously incredibly helpful. However, my favourite suit design and gear-up would have to be the MK 5. It is compact to begin with and expands outwards to fit around Tony's body like a glove. The colour combination is also very eye-catching and is quite memorable. There are my thoughts on my favourite suit/s :)

My favorite suit is the MK50 because it has one of the coolest suitup introductions we ever saw, it introduced the nano tech, and it has a better colorscheme than the latest and final iron man suit, in my opinion.
Tbh my favorite design was the mk 46 used in Civil War. It's the most realistic suit before infinity war in my opinion and that's probably the most sleek it could possibly be without the nanotech

Abilities: The Stark-tech mag-field generator implanted in Pepper's chest was not weapons-based like Stark's, but borrowed non-weaponized electromagnetic technology from Rand Industries, which caused a number of physical changes to her body. It cured her tinnitus, improving her hearing. It allows her to sense electromagnetic fields, and manipulate them to levitate her body.
Or maybe... mark 51 to 84 are versions with just "minor" tweaks or upgrades. Like a bunch of "under-the-hood" changes, but nothing visually distinctive. Like a minor tweak to the helmet that improves vision, or a slight change to the "bicep plate" that gives a 1.4% improvement in arm strength, etc. Nothing worth showing on screen, but still shows that Tony was working hard to improve the suit in the 5 year time-skip.
I think one of the major upgrade for the Mk4 armor is more on personal comfort instead of performance. As shown in the first film, Tony needs to wear a special skinsuit in order to wear the Mk2 and Mk3. The Mk4 shows off its improvement with tony in his suit instead of his skinsuit, which became the standard for every Iron Man armor up to the end. Also the Mk41 is more like a testbed for segmenting different parts of the suit which would be improved with the Mk42 by giving the whole suit an AI unit that responds to Tony's commands. The Mk47 is also evolving on the Mk42s independent function by giving it complete autonomy, allowing Tony to operate the suit even when not wearing the suit through Wi-Fi.
Mk. XIX (Tiger): Could travel so fast it could create a sonic boom. Meanwhile: Mk. III from the first Iron Man evading 2 F-22 Raptors demonstrating a Supersonic Flight: I aM 10 PaRalLel UnIvErSeS aHeAd Of YoU.

The 50 just looks much more sleek and I don't doubt he would be able to program the 85 to look like the 50, so maybe the 85 if that's canon the 85 wins. The 50 shows off most of the badass stuff the nanotech armor is able to do, while the 85 really doesn't show much more, other than the tag team thor lightning converter thing.

I personally think the reason for him having all his suits coded to him as he states in the 3rd movie, is partially because of the nano chips he used to summon them, and to prevent people from stealing the suits. He learned that the hard way when Rhodey took his suit then flew off to the U.S Military with it and let Hammer customize it.
Aesthetically, the Mk46 strikes the perfect balance between sleek and mechanical look. But as for which one is the best? Almost unquestionably the Mk85. If there's one material more broken OP in the MCU than Vibranium, it has to be Stark Nanotech.

It's all a little too fancy and conveniently powerful at this point. One of the coolest things about Iron Man in particular originally was that his armor seemed to be vulnerable and limited in functionality, even if it was the coolest and most powerful exoskeleton the audience had ever seen.
The MkV is a great example of that old "Wow" factor that we might never see with tech in the MCU again. It's like anymore something that should be gobstoppingly cool just kind of rolls off as "Oh, Yeah. Vibranium/Magic/Nanotech/Infinity Stones- of course."

I love the Mark 50 and 80. The futuristic, practically unlimited functionality and creativity appeal were awesome. It inspires me of what future advancements and technology could do, and hopefully I can do. The evolution of the Armor really show how Tony Stark evolved as a character. HIs arc and character inspires and motivates me.

Within the MCU, I like the Mark 45-47. Specifically the Mark 45 since that suit focuses more on combat ability versus the Mark 46-47 which both seem to be used more so for utility and restraint instead. All three suits still keep in “realism” having the most sleek designs and most advanced upgrades before the CGI of nanotech, in which case ofc the Mark 85 is my favorite out of that line since it is the ultimate culmination of all of Tony’s work.

RDJ's description of the evolution of Tony Stark and his suits was always amazing. The first bout of suits were about protecting Tony and insuring that he makes it back. Being selfish, but by the time he gets to the Mk. 50 is all about making sure the deed gets done, and not insuring that he makes it back. Sefless. And it showed the first suits were mini tanks, the Mk. 50 while i'm sure insanely durable, was made to have a tool for almost any situation, but as we see wasn't built to protect his ego, but to protect everyone else.

The Mark 5 is defenetly my favorite! overall the perfect balance between design, usebility and sheere awsomenes. the Wiplash vs Mark 5 fight and the transformation of the armor will always be my favorite scenes in the MCU.
Mark 39 at 2 place and 41 beeing third cuz I love the idea of stripping armor off a exo skeleton to make it faster and more agile to spesific situations.
mark 22 will altho be my favorite when it comes to design alone.
Heartbreaker coming right after that and 34, 35 and 36 at the bottom of my favorites.
I also like the Idea of multiple Arc Reactors to spread power thruo out the suit and make it stronger as in Mark 44 and 46.
and my next opinion might be contreversial, but Mark 50 and all nano tec suits after actually is my least favorite suits. I respect them as they are a huge step upp for Tony Stark, but as a gearhead that loves mechanisms and the idea of relying on sheere mechanical strength (wich is why Im sad he cant use the suits without power, if only as pure armor and some mechanical advanteges), the nano tec suits just doesnt hit me the same way. but with that said I do love Tony Starks progression, and that he actually managed to make the nano tec!

Apparently the hulkbuster suit used in infinity war is is the mk48, and the mk49 is actually the “rescue” suit used by pepper in the final fight of avengers endgame which makes sense given that it works much like the mk50 but less advanced

Personally, I think that the MK 50 and 85 are extremely streamlined and combat capable, which is obviously incredibly helpful. However, my favourite suit design and gear-up would have to be the MK 5. It is compact to begin with and expands outwards to fit around Tony's body like a glove. The colour combination is also very eye-catching and is quite memorable.

The first time I saw the Mark 50 it completely blew my mind. 100% my favourite
I would like to see a stealth version of the 85
Rescue, or mark 1616. Abilities: The Stark-tech mag-field generator implanted in Pepper's chest was not weapons-based like Stark's, but borrowed non-weaponized electromagnetic technology from Rand Industries, which caused a number of physical changes to her body. It cured her tinnitus, improving her hearing. It allows her to sense electromagnetic fields, and manipulate them to levitate her body.
Or maybe... mark 51 to 84 are versions with just "minor" tweaks or upgrades. Like a bunch of "under-the-hood" changes, but nothing visually distinctive. Like a minor tweak to the helmet that improves vision, or a slight change to the "bicep plate" that gives a 1.4% improvement in arm strength, etc. Nothing worth showing on screen, but still shows that Tony was working hard to improve the suit in the 5 year time-skip.
I think one of the major upgrade for the Mk4 armor is more on personal comfort instead of performance.
As shown in the first film, Tony needs to wear a special skinsuit in order to wear the Mk2 and Mk3. The Mk4 shows off its improvement with tony in his suit instead of his skinsuit, which became the standard for every Iron Man armor up to the end.
Also the Mk41 is more like a testbed for segmenting different parts of the suit which would be improved with the Mk42 by giving the whole suit an AI unit that responds to Tony's commands.
The Mk47 is also evolving on the Mk42s independent function by giving it complete autonomy, allowing Tony to operate the suit even when not wearing the suit through Wi-Fi.
The mark 5 was my favorite. Loved the color scheme.
