About 20 years ago I started building a Lotus 7 replica. As I went along I realised how hard it was going to be to get it registered as an “Individually Constructed Vehicle” in NSW. As time went on it seemed to be getting harder and harder to actually comply with the regulations. I ended up selling the chassis and a pile of other parts and bought an MX5 :-)
Building something like this which is based on a production car would have to be easier to register without the hassles of emission complience and brake tests!
