MashaAllah! Quite an intriguing talk by Dr. Wahid! For years as a teenager I've always wondered why there was a downfall from the golden era in Islam to our todays time and how do we make Islam the superior Ideology again in our world, so that we lead mankind from darkness to light. I think one podcast or one book is not enough to delve in this topic. It should be made a global discussion amongst the whole of the Ummah.
Great discussion, remember islam is a deen, that covers all aspects of life. Islam is not a secular religion, it encompasses everything including governance. The hukm(governance) is important that without it, Muslims have no means of implementing Islam in totallity
Akbar M: what’s ur daleel against the fatwa by unanimous azhari Muslim scholars against what you are saying that Islam isn’t a polity & what all classical scholars have deemed fard? Don’t bring slanders, bring ur daleel against these very specific evidences. Jazak allah khayr
@@thinkrevival1 What are you talking about and what relevance has it got to do with my question? My question here is who is the caliph HT is proposing? You can't have a khilafah without a caliph!
Long waited, finally so thank you brother Paul. For some reason people don't feel comfortable to invite Muslim on this TOPIC. HOPE THIS WONT BE LAST VIDEO. THANKS AGAIN
Great talk, good to see brother Paul hosting br Abdul Wahid to discuss this important issue, I feel we.need.to have more.of.these discussions as Islam defines its own political system which differs and is superior to that of any other political system.
Great. Dr good old doctor got suspended for being a leading member of a terror organisation that is outlawed in most countries and now the authorities are looking for sympathisers of his ideology and btw. Claiming to be a Christian won't stop them from entering the list they are creating.
Thanks Paul. Good topic but quite complex. We have to differentiate between the aims of the khelafa and the khelafa itself as a form of governance. We need to establish the goals ( which include protection of souls, wealth, religion etc) but there is no obligation for the form, this can change with time. Similar to that would be choosing the leader for example. For your knowledge each of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) successor came through a different political process, and that's the flexibility of Islam. Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawi has very good views on this, I do recommend it.
Assalamualaikum from Indonesia. I love your channel brother Paul and I very love this discussion. Really. This topic opens my mind about the great of Islamic politic
Khilafah returning is a matter of time, not a matter of possibility. It is prophesized by Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and it is inevitable to return, just as it was inevitable for the bare foot Arabs to defeat the Persian and Roman empires. The world is changing at a rapid pace, talks of Gold Standard coming back is a reality today... something unthinkable a few years ago. When Allah decides to bless us with Khilafah, He will facilitate it while people and naysayers watch in amazement and awe. Only those who doubt the might of Allah may doubt and wonder HOW IS IT POSSIBLE? If we live long enough, inshaAllah we will see it come about right before our eyes. May Allah make us and our children, of those who live in the justice of Khilafah, or atleast among those who live in trying to bring it back.
@@AK_UK_ Allah will decide, the Ummah will decide... who saw the future? If the Prophet SAWS gave us a name I would give it here LOL, but he SAWS did say Khilafah will return after this oppressive rule period, khalas.
@@AK_UK_ What if, what if! What if! Allahu Akbar. I don't care HT helps bring it back, or Tanzeem-Islami, or even CIA lol, as long as it is genuine Islamic land, implementing Hukm Sharii, I am good. If the ummah doesn't agree, then we are in the situation we are now! Not every person has to agree, that is utopia, you think every human in Madinah was supportive of Mohammed SAWS? There were munafiquun in Madinah, and kuffar, and they were busy asking similar questions, what if this, what if that. Those folks will keep asking, while when Allah decides it to happen, it will happen no matter what some people in the ummah think or say.
@@silentone6966 HT are the very hypocrites of Madinah in our era and we're discussing them because that's the topic of this video! - wasn't their nifaaq evident with Omar Bakri, Maajid nawaz and when they asked Israeli stooge Khomeni to be caliph? You say you don't care who brings back khilafah. When your ISIS friends took an area the size of France and declared world wide jihad, you guys locked yourself in the ladies toilets 🚻. People like HT and their supporters will promise the world, but only in so far as they stay in Western democracies.
I totally agree with the initial introduction, but revisiting many hadiths and verses to re-define Islam from political ideology is totally unacceptable and creates a lot of problems. The biggest problem is missing the true purpose of life of worshipping Allah in a broad prospective, and instead pushes the Muslims in endless nonsense conflicts (for example the online conflicts and ground battles and wars between Mudkhalis and Muslim Brothers) The biggest argument against the political innovative redefining Islam is the same story that the guest mentioned when the prophet’s uncle came and he shared the pagans’ offer, one of them to appoint the prophet as a ruler over them, but the prophet peace be upon him declined and instead, he asked them to declare the oneness of Allah One of the best books that refutes the political redefinition of Islam is: “Political interpretation of Islam” by Abu Alhassan Ali Alhassan Alnadawi
@A A Good point, but with reg to your comment: "when the prophet’s uncle came and he shared the pagans’ offer, one of them to appoint the prophet as a ruler over them, but the prophet peace be upon him declined and instead, he asked them to declare the oneness of Allah".. this clearly shows that you cannot join politics of BATIL/KUFR even if you're made the MP/President/Prime Minister... rather you continue working until you can live in Islam and then you can join the politics of Islam (i.e.: Madinah/Khilafah Rashidah)... on the contrary today we have 'politicians' jumping at the chance to be MPs or Ministers in the KUFR system... so this quote applies more to them, these politicians are the ones 'accepting the crown from the Quraish tribes'... instead of working to establish a Madinah/Islamic Polity. Separating politics from Islam is from Secularism & Liberalism, Islam is whole and comprehensive deen/way of life, not a mere recipe for spirituality or personal life. Allah gave us a full way of life/deen which includes how to live as a society, and how to elect our ruler, and how to account the rulers as demonstrated by the Khulafah Rashideen, and their citizens.
I don't know if you watched the video but there is no reinterpretation here. He is speaking about an islamic system of government that existed since the first century.
@@silentone6966 so why do HT members in the west fund "kufr systems" in the West with their tax payer money? Why did HT participate in elections and pushing for MPs in the late 50s and 70s in Jordan? Why does HT appeal to the EU human rights courts, in a "kufr system" so as not to be banned in Holland , UK etc? Why does Abdul Wahid rant against LGBT when he himself advises them and gives sexual health advice them as a GP? Why does Jamal Harwood do consultancy work for credit suisse, RBS when he rants about the kufr system of capitalism? I'm not saying its wrong to advice LGBT, be a GP, work for a bank etc , but it's such double standards from HT when they rant against it on the weekend, and then work in the fields they rant against from Monday - Friday!
@@silentone6966 I totally agree. That’s why I agree with the introduction. That’s why I believe Muslims abandoning Islam (e.g., by supporting LG#BT or calling Shari’a is barbaric) to join the Congress or the government does not benefit Muslims or themselves. But looking at the situation of Muslims today, who should appoint the Khalifa and where? How much damage to the community will occur and does the benefit outweigh the damage? Deciding on that requires scholars that spent their life learning Fiqh and at the same time, they have deep understanding to the community situation and distribution of power The best set of action for us nowadays, is to learn our religion and be active in da’wa (including enjoining good and forbidding evil with complete knowledge and wisdom) only for the sake of Allah not for money, fame or position
Islam should not, and ought not be merged with the suffix 'ic'! Islamic Politics cannot be a concept or subcategory within the political sphere. By doing so, we are ascribing Islam as an adjective to the noun politics; an intangible concept. Islamic Politics should be السياسة في الإسلام Politics of Islam. It may carry a better meaning that is parallel with what Abdul Wahid's is conveying. Paul Williams, the theology platform brilliant host, introduces in 05:43 - 07:22, an intelligent reasoning for why we're negating such linguistic shortcoming. Islam is not an adjective to attribute with other concepts and philosophies. In Arabic, the word siyasa-politics differs from the English definition. Its linguistic meaning refers to, "doing something with the intention of rectifying things.” It also conveys the following: upbringing and directing, issuing orders, taking care of something, and supervising or overseeing things. By extrapolating and following the word siyasa-politics, we can realize that it indicates the shepherd and the subjects, the imam, the sultan and the guardian, the pledge of allegiance, the commandment of righteousness, and forbiddance of atrocity. We realize that the concept of siyasa-politics within Islam’s school of thought is closest to its linguistic meaning. Hence, in Islam, the understanding of the word siyasa-politics involves every action related towards the best interest of a nation. Whether by managing all its affairs, from economic, social, educational, and state administration. With a centralized focus on the activities of individuals, the judiciary system, managing foreign relations, defending the nation, faith and homelands... etc. So, we affirm that the government of a nation is strictly responsible for its peoples' welfare. Thus we understand that the meaning of siyasa-politics is not confined to an 'abstract art of governance,' and it is not ‘a tool of class domination' nor it is ‘the art of careerism.' Rather, it is 'caring for the nation’s affairs' with the political responsibility remaining in place through the duty of enjoining good and forbidding atrocity in a sufficient manner. It is clear that care and concern for the nation’s affairs and best interests include the art of governance, the functions of the political authority, and the political activities of the nation, including the struggle and revolution against an unjust ruler. In essence, the concept of siyasa-politics in Islam expands, to include everything that is concerned with the affairs of the nation and its best interests. In other words, siyasa-politics is an action undertaken by the nation, and the apparatus of power, in order to achieve the basic objectives of the message of Islam, which jurists summarized as “bringing utility and preventing corruption.”
Salaam, the followers of Ahlul Bayt.. the "shia" have a very different perspective of early Islamic history. There were 3 wars among the Muslims very shortly after the Prophey alayhi salaam left this world and the holy Prophet's grandson was brutally kill just a half century after he was gone. These events should not be ignored but analyzed for their tragic and beautiful aspects. A great series is -- In Search of Orthodox Islam - Br. Once again, a very informative and stimulating talk. Thank you. As is recognized in the talk, democracy is the dominant governing principle currently. Democracy is a process. It is based on the notion that people will always disagree on right and wrong, good and poor policy. Democracy is set up as a dispute resolution mechanism. I would like to know more about process of a caliphate system that would replace democracy. How is a caliph chosen and recalled? Most of what is described here resembles the Catholic Church with its Pope, simply called the Caliph. The wold has experienced a Holy Roman Emperor already.
We have the concept of Shura Shura can for example take the form of a council or a referendum. The Quran encourages Muslims to decide their affairs in consultation with each other. Wikipedia The word shūrā provides the title of the 42nd surah of the Qurʾān, in which believers are exhorted to conduct their affairs “by mutual consultation.” Britannica The main importance of the Shura lies in protecting the society from wrong decisions. The consultation provides the opportunity to listen to the opinions of the people of knowledge, wisdom and experience, and to discuss the opinions put forward to correct and develop flaws in them. It also provides the opportunity to choose opinions and suggestions that provide a greater good for the community. In counseling, rise above orders and redress thoughts, especially for those with experience. (translated) and even women (from 14th centuries ago) and even kids are associated with this process.
@Snakejüce That is I admit a serious contradiction between Democracy and a Khalifa, the Khalifa should never want to be the Khalifa and democracy encourages populism.
We have the Shura, which is a council where important people (theologians, governors, generals, experts, businessmen, etc.) pick a leader from amongst them.
@@MohammadAlmansouri I'm very glad that you replied to my comment. Thank you. Do those associated with decision-making in the Shura vote? The main purpose of the democratic process is to avoid violent conflict, I believe. The speaker here seemed to countenance assassination as a remedy for disagreement.
Great discussion, but I failed to understand from discussion a part where in we suppose someone is Kaliph as described in Islam an utopian thought and he is as accountable as any subject. Does accountable mean in a broader sense to cross judge during the reign of a particular Kaliph is he still fit in all aspects the way he was when he was appointed. And who and what are those clear instnstructional guidelines should one get appointed as Kaliph. who becomes the successor and what exact procedure is that. And supposing at the time of appointing Kaliph he was the best choice ,what if a new scholarly and better individual comes to scene ,is there a way to reconsider the appointment.
*_The Islamic Khilafah will emerge when Muslims start practising Islam in line with the Noble Quran, the authentic sunnah and the methodology of the Salaf AsSaleh._*
i'm not sure if it's this video, i forgot to reply after many days of listening to one of your interviews and i think the speaker mentionned the letter from the prophet to Heraclius saying the sin of the Arianists is uppon you but he don't even explain it well or say that "ariusiun" are the subjects of the byzantum empire
Assalamualaikum! I want to ask why some Muslims don't want Islamic sharia law when they are Muslims themselves. They say that Hijab should not be forced by government if law implements????
I can recite many Hadiths that support my view so can Hizb Ut-Tahrir and everyone interpret the Hadiths or historical events his way. But if you take Hadiths and Islamic history from Hizb Ut-Tahrir you will be left with a political movement made to convince Muslims to rebel against their rulers as if its is the only solution to bring unity to the Muslims and spread justice in the world. But the most important question is who or what will replace the rulers? will the people unite and elect the best among them to become their ruler or will they turn against each other and turn their country into a war zone for the grab hold of the leadership or maybe they will give it to the one who started it all Hizb Ut-Tahrir.
When Abu Bakr said correct me or set me right he was not creating a condition to be followed by Muslims leaders otherwise every ruler has to declare Abu Bakr statement before he take the leadership. Abu Bakr was the closest companion to the Prophet and no one will be as righteous as he was. Even though we love to have a leader like Abu Baker there will be no one like him, maybe close to him but not the same. Through the history the Islamic empire did prosper even under a bad leaders but what really caused it to fall is the division among the Muslims themselves when they allowed the fitnah to spread among them.
This talk is a bit dishonest.. The Abbassids had a Theocracy. They used to say: The Sultan is the shadow of God on Earth, whoever insults the Sultan has insulted God. It's amazing how little these scholars know about Muslim history. The Khalufa al Rashida and Ummayads didn't actually establish a fully fleshed out Islamic State based on the Quran and the Sunnah. They used part of what they learnt in Persia and Rome to administrate and govern the Empire. Empire was brand new to the Arabs at the time. The Abbassids made the effort to gather all the literature and to develop scholarship to the point where they could establish an Islamic State and that was a Theocracy.
The early Caliphs made laws based on what was current and what seemed fair. It wasn't in reference to anything most of the time. This obsession with religion having the answer for everything only started much later.
Yeah i agree with you, from my understanding (correct me of im wrong) what Al-Quran and Sahih Hadiths provide is the core principal that we have to abide....Al-Quran and hadith never forbids us to adopt any methods as long as it doesn't contradict with Islamic principal....
Regarding the book "Al-Islam and the foundation of governance" of cheikh Ali Aberâziq, I've read it few years ago and I was surprised to see that he doesn't deny the politic aspect of Islam and the ruling by the shariah but he simply claim that the political system of "khilafah" (the organizational structure and others) is not part of islam which is true, it's just an ijtihad, Islam doesn't define a type of political system. Cheikh Ali made a lot of mistakes in his book (like pretending that the Messenger (peace be upon him) was not a politic ruler because of the basic form of the management system) but I don't see where he clearly denies the politic aspect of Islam.
6:00 Islam is all for freedom of speech and the right to fully express your self and thoughts,, as long as , of course, you are not transgressing. Example: iblis not choosing to prostrate to Adam. Iblis was heard and also, given a bonus! Iblis was granted the freedom to roam and destroy, during dunya time. Criminals are spoiled big time in the rule of Islam, well , while they live. Until Allah’s Word come. And This has nothing to do with spiritual thoughts, Sufism like, meditation, rituals and what not. Thoughts belong to you, while actions belong to the society and to the ruler, on top of that. Of course.
I think we all need to start with ourselves and our families to eventually getting to the rise of khalafite again. Also just like guest said we need to believe that how desperate the situation is now. There is always a chance of re-emergence. Just like god saved children of Israel from pharaoh.
From the outset the Messenger (saw), akin to all messengers, called for servitude of Allah via establishing khilafah and the sharia. "Indeed Pharaoh exalted himself in the land, factionalising its people, oppressing one group, slaughtering their sons and sparing their women. Truly he was corrupt. And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors..." (28:4-6) The Messenger (saw) spoke to his tribe at the banquet in year one and everyone left abruptly after eating with Abu Lahab responding by saying: "These are your uncles and cousins, speak to the point, but first of all you have got to know that your kinspeople do not have the power to withstand all the Arabs and I am the most fitting person to stop you. ... Verily, I have never heard of anyone who has incurred more harm on his kinspeople than you." The Messenger kept silent and said nothing in that meeting. (Fiqh al-Seerah, pp. 77) He invited a second time and said: "A leader does not lie to his family. By Allah, besides Whom there is no other god, I am Allah's Messenger." (Fiqh al-Seerah, p. 77-78) "Then he said, 'Banu Abd al-Muttalib, I have been sent to all men in general and to you in particular. Now that you have seen what you have seen, which of you will swear an oath of allegiance (bayah) to me to become my brother, my companion and my inheritor?" (Tarikh al-Tabari, Vol. 2, p. 322, Tarikh al-Tabari, Vol. 2, p. 322, Ibn al-Athir, al-Kamil fi at-Tarikh, Vol. 1, p.259; Seerah Rasul Allah, p.119)
We can't let people define concepts based only on their experiences of it. Language is supposed to be a gradual guide. You might start with a concept representing something unpleasant, based on your arbitrary conditions. But that doesn't give anyone the right to condemn language, and concept to their limited experience of apportion.. We grow to often appropriate concepts to greater comprehensive understanding. The word "theocracy" shouldn't be a word, or concept anyone shy away from. The rule (ocracy) of (theos) God/ the divine. IS what faith/ religion is supposed to be all about. The question shouldn't be how we are somehow a third alternative to theocracy, and Secularism.. The question should be how to establish a theocracy that is ACTUALLY theocratic.. That's what we monotheists should pay attention to, and be able to present to the world. That's supposed to be what islamic politics is all about. And yes, we haven't gotten to the point of establishing procedures/ and institutions that can help achieve that. ✍️ Because magical thinking~ " If we all know sharia well, and practice it, the government will magically decide to do that too. ✍️ Because arrogant denile~ Like every "rightly + guided" khalif.. Who were all literally "guided" only by their own opinion, that 😂 "rightly" differed from his former and latter "rightly" + "guided" kaliph.. So they prosided over unending fitnah.. JUST LIKE US.. Cause we think we are "guided", and we are NOT (yet, cause we haven't put in the actual intellectual work yet).. And we think everyone is "right" no matter how different their opinions are.. # Fitnah We need to tone down the blind arrogance, and granted truth.. And we need to GET REAL. Not a single khilafa sustainably oversaw it's khalifs.. Not a single khalifa EVER gained ligitimacy by "the whole Ummah agreeing".. ALL KHALAFAS were born on battle fields... And there are REASONS for all that.. That are why AlLah has us on hold.. SO WE CAN THINK/ LEARN.. The west is RIGHT about some things.. One thing.. Is that your institutional architecture has to be how you set your principles up to work.. NOT MAGICAL THINKING, OR DEPENDING ON HOW ZEALOUS INDIVIDUALS OR SOCIETIES CAN GET.. 🤷♂️ Wake up! Tawheed is NOT utopian.. But it's our IGNORANT GAHILI SLUMBER that's making it seem so.
I find it interesting that Muslim scholars in the west are quick to repeat western governments political talking points. One example is of the term “regime” that was widely used by western media to define the Syrian government or Islamic republic of Iran, and our scholars in the west have no issue pointing out said governments but have never heard them criticize Saudi royalty and their genocide in Yemen and how they in one way or another allow for the continuation of the genocide of Palestinians. I’ve found that our Shia brothers have been more involved in the bloody process of the liberation of the holy land, and if we as an ummah are to make a caliphate a reality it will definitely involve Palestine as it is home to the Abrahamic religions. Really hope Paul brings in more Shia brothers on, love our brother Paul’s work and can’t wait to see what else he has in store for us who listen.
It's time we talk about this very important aspect of the way Muslims should conduct our lives according to the Quran and the sunnah. Well done brother Paul. I recommend you to invite Sheikh Imran Hosein to impart his knowledge on this topic and the secular western civilization political system prevailing in the world today. Appreciate the efforts. May Allah keep us all in his mercy.

Islam came as 'Strange' and will return as 'Strange', glad tidings to the 'Strangers', ... anything that challenges evil will be labeled as 'extremist' by evil... Islam does not take definitions of good and evil from Obama, Biden, Sisi, or MBS, or Boris Johnson. Gandhi and Nelson Mandela were once called Terrorists by British colonizers in India, and South African apartheid state, so what.
The Hizb do not hold deviant teachings, they aim to bring a khalifah back, which is a Nobel work, which all Muslims agree upon. The only thing deviant thing is having a nationalistic state, which has no basis in Islam.
You pronounce his name wrong. No such thing as abdulwaheed. It’s abdulwaahid. Alwaahid is one of Allah’s names. Not Alwaheed!! Such a name is not any of Allah’s.
Since I was teenager many, many moons ago, Hizb Tahrir has been remarkably consistent in churning out the most eminently unqualified spokespeople, who unfortunately do not understand Islam, except through the lens of political aggrievance. I'm not going to waste time elaborating on this point, but simply ask 'Dr Wahid' what his Islamic qualifications are as the only ones he mentioned are, his dad's friend teaching him Quran and the Encyclopedia Britannica. Yet he sits there, pulling out the trope about how 'the scholars don't talk about this'; a huge strawman fallacy, slander against the 'ulema, ego boost to himself and proof that he has never sat at the feet of scholars. Br Paul, don't give these people any publicity, I thought they had been banned anyway.
Paul - you should never of given this family and community breaking cult a platform to speak. HT have a history that goes back to 90s in the UK when Omar Bakri was their chief. They won't detail their mischief to reverts like you. Just because they talk about khilafah doesn't mean they're upon haqq. You didn't press them hard on: 1. Why are they in the UK if they want khilafah in the Muslim world? - why don't they make hijra esp in a country they've previously classed as darul harb. 2. Why they have a hidden Imam (yes, you read that correctly). He is an asylum seeker in europe and although he's happy asking others to do khurooj and accuse scholars of selling out, he's not actually happy to do anything himself. He won't even show his face even though their are no threats against him! 3. Why this so called political party has no record or accountability of donations the cult has received from its members (who often donate their savings). Where have these huge sums gone and why do HT silence their members from asking? 3. Despite HT claiming they're a threat to western interests, how comes their leaders always gain asylum, including the families of their leaders (eg the son of their cult founder - zindeeq taqiudeen nabahani - was based in Holland and used to come east London). Despite the hostility of some western politicians towards the Muslim community, they've never been banned - why? Because HT have always been useful western pawns to divide the Muslims - they caused havoc from 90's to 00's. They become so extreme that they were even doing takfir over Morsi, Imran Khan etc 4. They weren't pressed on Omar Bakri being their leader who they regarded as a mujtahid! Why did Omar Bakri accuse them of being spies and HT turned on him and said he was a spy! 5. Why did they ask Khomeni (despite working with Israel) to be the caliph of the Muslims! (yes, you read correct). They EVEN SAID he could keep the his extreme beliefs (which involved claiming Ali controlled the universe and that sahabah are kufffar). 6. Why they have a track record of supporting "hezbollah" terrorists. 7. Why their was a wall of silence against Maajid Nawaz and quilliam . They never officially condemned him... Why? 🙂 Paul - seems you're very thoughtful. You're forthright against extremists, but you've been hoodwinked here hook line and sinker!
@@AK_UK_ let's take your first point, they have many of their members in the Muslim world. Due to various reasons some have moved to western countries due to economic, family, and other reasons, just like so many other Muslims. Or do you think those are not justifiable reasons?
@@shoislam2729 But what was false? Yes, HT have members in the Muslim world -so do Ahmadiyyah? So what? HT have zero influence. Look at the political events in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan etc HT can only dream of having the influence as others do. This is why their leaders have deserter their positions in Muslim countries and run off to Australia, America, UK etc with their tail between their legs. No, I don't think it's right that people are calling for khilafah in the Muslim world and then run off from their obligations to lands they class as darul harb. Worse off, they're encouraging others to do khurooj whilst their leaders reside in the West and protected by those governments... I wonder why? 🙂 Muslims have established themselves in the West via mainly economic migration - but HT's goal isn't economics migration, its to establish khilafah in the Muslim. @@AK_UK_ This is not about HT's influence in the Muslim world, arguably you may be right on that at the moment. This is about being accurate about what you say about a group of Muslims. Regarding the Caliphate I would like to share the opinion I have reached so far (any it may be wrong or changed if new data comes in). The Caliphate was a Miracle. It can NEVER happen without a Prophet. The next one will be when Prophet Jesus comes. The last one was when Prophet Muhammad came. The one before that was when Prophet Dawood came and so on all the way to Adam. Not all Prophets could established the Caliphate.
Hey paul Not to be rude brother but have you considered changing your name from Paul because it has a bad connotation to Paul of tzarsis who literally ruined and corropted christianity. I am just saying this out of love please dont take it personally Thanks
Masya Allah I agree! We muslim ummah is one ummah and we should unite to lead all humankind from darkness to light
Great discussion, remember islam is a deen, that covers all aspects of life. Islam is not a secular religion, it encompasses everything including governance. The hukm(governance) is important that without it, Muslims have no means of implementing Islam in totallity

As a Christian I enjoyed this
Great. Dr good old doctor got suspended for being a leading member of a terror organisation that is outlawed in most countries and now the authorities are looking for sympathisers of his ideology and btw. Claiming to be a Christian won't stop them from entering the list they are creating.

MashaAllah amazing podcast and jazakAllahgair to both Paul and Abdulwahid. Cant wait to see more of these islamic politics videos
Wonderful discussion.
Dr Abdul Wahid was just the right candidate for discussing this issue rightfully

I totally agree with the initial introduction, but revisiting many hadiths and verses to re-define Islam from political ideology is totally unacceptable and creates a lot of problems. The biggest problem is missing the true purpose of life of worshipping Allah in a broad prospective, and instead pushes the Muslims in endless nonsense conflicts (for example the online conflicts and ground battles and wars between Mudkhalis and Muslim Brothers)
The biggest argument against the political innovative redefining Islam is the same story that the guest mentioned when the prophet’s uncle came and he shared the pagans’ offer, one of them to appoint the prophet as a ruler over them, but the prophet peace be upon him declined and instead, he asked them to declare the oneness of Allah
One of the best books that refutes the political redefinition of Islam is: “Political interpretation of Islam” by Abu Alhassan Ali Alhassan Alnadawi
Please provide website to download the book thanks bro. Maulana Wahiduddin Khan did do a book with that title.
Deciding on that requires scholars that spent their life learning Fiqh and at the same time, they have deep understanding to the community situation and distribution of power
The best set of action for us nowadays, is to learn our religion and be active in da’wa (including enjoining good and forbidding evil with complete knowledge and wisdom) only for the sake of Allah not for money, fame or position

We have the concept of Shura
Shura can for example take the form of a council or a referendum. The Quran encourages Muslims to decide their affairs in consultation with each other. Wikipedia
The word shūrā provides the title of the 42nd surah of the Qurʾān, in which believers are exhorted to conduct their affairs “by mutual consultation.” Britannica
The main importance of the Shura lies in protecting the society from wrong decisions. (translated)
and even women (from 14th centuries ago) and even kids are associated with this process.
@@vedon_z Like the Catholic Council of Cardinals that selects the Pope?
@@MohammadAlmansouri I'm very glad that you replied to my comment. Thank you. Do those associated with decision-making in the Shura vote?

Brilliant

Yeah i agree with you, from my understanding (correct me of im wrong) what Al-Quran and Sahih Hadiths provide is the core principal that we have to abide....Al-Quran and hadith never forbids us to adopt any methods as long as it doesn't contradict with Islamic principal....
he's not a scholar, just saying. He may be an "expert" in his own field (whatever that may be), but he is no expert in Islam lol.
@@ezzwizz5219 exactly. As long as rulers are fair the actual system of government isn't revealed.
Wrong. All Muslims must enter into Islam completely, no procrastination please, this will lead to hell.
And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors..." (28:4-6)
The Messenger (saw) spoke to his tribe at the banquet in year one and everyone left abruptly after eating with Abu Lahab responding by saying:
"These are your uncles and cousins, speak to the point, but first of all you have got to know that your kinspeople do not have the power to withstand all the Arabs and I am the most fitting person to stop you. ... Verily, I have never heard of anyone who has incurred more harm on his kinspeople than you." The Messenger kept silent and said nothing in that meeting. (Fiqh al-Seerah, pp. 77)
He invited a second time and said:
"A leader does not lie to his family. By Allah, besides Whom there is no other god, I am Allah's Messenger." (Fiqh al-Seerah, p. 77-78)
"Then he said, 'Banu Abd al-Muttalib, I have been sent to all men in general and to you in particular.

Who were all literally "guided" only by their own opinion, that 😂 "rightly" differed from his former and latter "rightly" + "guided" kaliph..

JUST LIKE US..
Cause we think we are "guided", and we are NOT (yet, cause we haven't put in the actual intellectual work yet).. And we think everyone is "right" no matter how different their opinions are..
# Fitnah
We need to tone down the blind arrogance, and granted truth..

Hizbut tahrir is banned in Malaysia. Their reason is that HT holds some extreme and deviant teachings.
All good and fine until the end he said Hizbul Tahrir and all the Muslim world are ruled by open Kuffur. 🤨
So Sisi of Egypt, MBS of Saudi and Erdoğan of Turkey implement and rule by Islam?

You didn't press them hard on:
They become so extreme that they were even doing takfir over Morsi, Imran Khan etc
Why? 🙂
Paul - seems you're very thoughtful. You're forthright against extremists, but you've been hoodwinked here hook line and sinker!
Although there are some legitimate concerns you've raised here, some of your statements here are completely false.
@@shoislam2729 like what?
Muslims have established themselves in the West via mainly economic migration - but HT's goal isn't economics migration, its to establish khilafah in the Muslim. They're 2 seperate things.
If you want to establish a fruit business, do you go to the Mediterranean or the Antarctic? 🙂
@@AK_UK_ This is not about HT's influence in the Muslim world, arguably you may be right on that at the moment. This is about being accurate about what you say about a group of Muslims. So are ALL HT leaders residing in Western countries? I don't think that is the case, but please correct me if I am wrong with evidence.
Hey paul
Not to be rude brother but have you considered changing your name from Paul because it has a bad connotation to Paul of tzarsis who literally ruined and corropted christianity. I am just saying this out of love please dont take it personally
