Might be one of the best covers I've ever heard.
This song really feels like it's a real Gaslight Anthem song.

been following Fallon since 08! it's great to see a musician make it. Back then it was sink or swim and nobody had heard of gaslight. Now he's killing it at festivals and fucking owning. Fallon is the man.
these guys are truly gifted. Take a mainstream pop song and turn it into a gut wrenching plea to your heart. just awesome. easily one of my favourite musicians.
His cover of Kelly Clarkson's "I Do Not Hook Up" is also pretty damn heart-wrenching.
This makes my heart warm. For real.

This is incredible, Brian has such a driving voice it's beautiful.
How does this man have a terrible voice? Is it because he doesn't have your regular pop boy voice? He is a terrific lyricist. We need more singers like Brian Fallon in the music industry. He has pure talent.

I heard that Katy Perry made a cover of this song, it wasn't as nicely done though.

I actually really love this cover. It feels like Katy Perry's version is about being in love for the first time and feeling like it's all you'll ever need. But this one feels more Kiel it's about this broken guy and the person who put him back together. I know that sounds kind of stupid because some of the lyrics so do NOT fit what I just said, but whatever.
I think a lot of people might watch this and not really understanding what a special thing it is...to take a song and change the feeling so completely without changing any words is truly a special talent and not many people possess it. I would also recommend checking out his cover of kelly clarkson as well

Everytime I see he's covered a pop song, I always wonder if it's one he wrote because I know he does songwriting for other people but I never have known for sure which songs he's worked on.

Brian shows real emotion and isn't generic when he sings. Unlike what you'll find on the X-Factor where ever singer is generic and sound the same and singers go through based on their sob stories and image. For me, Fallon's song writing is why he's one of my favourite artists. This may come as a surprise to such a narrow minded person like yourself but I don't enjoy Taylor Swift's repetitive song writing where every song seems to be about her high school boyfriends.

i know that should be true, and i should be creeped out, but i just get so lost in the cross between his sincerity and what Katy Perry meant, that i'm like "yeah, totally, brian fallon in skinny jeans, rock on"
Well I guess the story was one of Brian's friends really wanted to meet Katy and he went up and knocked on her trailer at a festival. Her guard said she wasn't feeling well although she was on stage 5 mins before, and just acted like an overall jerk. So Benny wore a Katy Perry shirt to there set and then they recorded this just as kind of a classy teasing gesture.

katy perry wont have wrote this, its like sam endicott wrote half of shakiras album, yet the bravery are still a class indie rock band. it helps that brian and the boys are amazing and id never dis any song they did.

You're probably one of those people who think Tom Waits sounds bad because he's not synthesized or processed. You're so used to hearing digitally enhanced shite that you've actually forgotten what human voices sound like. They sound like this and it's better.
Brian's voice gives this bland pop song this life and (atleast the appearance of) real meaning

Ha, I love Tom Waits. Try again. I'm just telling you what I hear. Not my fault this dude can't sing. A lot of bad singers release more albums than these guys. Just for the record, I've listened to this like 4 times now to make sure I'm not just hearing things. He's not good. Not terrible but not good. Haven't heard any of his other stuff, maybe he's better in other songs...
