Nigerian Explores West Africa's Hidden Gem (Lagos to Benin Republic Trip)

Benin Republic, a hidden gem of a country. On my recent trip across west africa, i explored this beautiful country which shares a lot of culture with my home country, Nigeria. I explored Ganvie, Babs Dock and Ouidah, while making a quick stop in porto novo. From its languages, to its people, the food, religions, it was intriguing to see how similar we are, but yet so distinct in our ways. This is a part of my documentary series of my 6 day trip across West Africa where I started from Lagos, Nigeria, to Benin Republic, Togo and then Ghana.

Your country is such a beautiful place with loads of beautiful people. So peaceful, welcoming and homely. I do not speak french but I did not feel like I was in a 'strange' place regardless of the language barrier. The food was wonderful. I will definitely be going back, with the hopes of staying longer.
