Thanks Matt. Your videos about interpreting a negative and creating a fine print are very, very helpful. every negative is different. So every new video is exciting ... and your pictures are amazing.
I recieved my test printer from you a few weeks ago, works a treat. Bought some 5 x 7 inch paper to cut in half for the test strips as this saved some excess cutting 8 x 10 paper. Loving the darkroom in Sydney, we have a community darkroom for our camera club members with three enlargers and all the trimmings.
Video inspiring, absolutely love this, unforgettable moment in darkroom, great choice of music is beautiful, it marries perfectly with the magic of analog photography and the marvelous work in the darkroom, many thanks!!!!
Great job! As always. Only the enlargers fan is spoiling ASMR experience. But could you make a video how to align this 4x5 LPL enlarger some day? Please!
Always wonderful to see the process start to end. I should really get a better easel - one like the one you show. I seem to spend too much time wrestling with margins and borders etc. Question if I may? : when recording your darkroom scenes, I have been using my iPhone, and it does a grand job of filming what is actually a very dark scene, litl merely by one red light. But I do wonder if the screen brightness, which seems to light the room more than I'd think is a good thing, has an impact on my prints. I haven't noticed that it has, yet, but maybe it is and I am just not realising it. Do you have any tips for using ones iPhone in the dakroom to minimise light?
@@tedsmith_photography Thank you, I do love my easels and am happy I spent the money on them. No regrets. I use a Canon R5 and flip the screen in and put lith tape over the viewfinder. Now I would think that being in red light the phone screen would only projecting that spectrum which would be safe. Not 100% Though. On my camera all the little screen icons emit white light. To be safe you could fashion a piece of ruby red gel and attach it to the face. I often thought an app that would turn the screen safe would be beneficial. Have wanted to make one for my iPad for notes … maybe one exists?
Just set up my system to do digital contact prints to review before printing. If you have a digital preprinting process for review would love to see a video on your process and thoughts - pro/cons.
@@customerbf I have been digging into this a bit and trying to have a helpful system. Have some ideas I’m testing and will report when I have helpful news 👍
Darkroom work is immensely satisfying; your work is testament to that.
