Coldplay is seriously one of the most inventive and hardworking bands out there. Chris, Guy, and Jon spent hours pushing tacks into the hammers of a piano to make it sound like it does for this particular song. They're really just so brilliant and inspirational. Even if their music is different now, I think they still have the same heart and soul put into every song like they did back then.
They are my favorite band of all time. To me they'll always be the very best.

Years without listening to it, and I still remember the lyrics...
I've been a fan of Coldplay's music ever since hearing Clocks when I was a kid, and I remember that the first time I saw their physical appearances was through this video. I remember it coming up on TV one night and it was pretty magical. It was also the first time I heard Lovers In Japan and to this day I feel just as amazed when ever I listen to this song.

This song and Viva la vida have been on my playlist longer than this video has existed. Back when youtube was a place to find music with no names or faces to go with it. I had those songs on an mp3 since 2008. They are still on my playlist to this day.
Went to see Coldplay at Wembley not too long after this album came out and was probably the best concert I’ve been to!

I really don't understand all the hate that Coldplay's been having about how much they've changed over the years. I like the pre-2008 Coldplay as much as anybody, but I really think their sound has matured and has gotten more refined over the years. Yes their sound has changed, but it's still Coldplay through and through. The lyrics are still just as powerful, and the music is still top-notch. So why complain? Appreciate that this band evolves, unlike a lot of other modern artists and bands these days. I for one can listen and appreciate every Coldplay song that's ever been made. I enjoy Ghost Stories just as much as Parachutes. Learn to appreciate different sounds instead of keeping a narrow mind.
I actually heard that Chris Martin calls himself an all-theist (Believes in all religions), and has a weird mindset, or something like that. Either way, I always enjoy all their songs. But who's been complaining about Coldplay, and why?
Have you ever been on one of their new music videos? If you haven't, I'll give you a basic run-down of what the comments are like:
-People complaining that Coldplay's new sound is to "pop" like.
-People saying that they want the old Coldplay back.
-People saying that the band has "sold out" and that they should have stuck to their roots.
-People saying that they hate the new Coldplay.
That's basically what some people have been saying. If I came out a little aggressive it wasn't meant to sound like it, but I just don't see why people can't let Coldplay do what they want to do and sound how they want to sound. A band that evolves is better than a band that keeps the same sound time and time again. Glad to see another fan that enjoys all their stuff!
Their new album wasn't the best, O is still one of my favourites from them (tied with death and all his friends, I like the slower still beat songs). I love Most of their albums equally. Most people are just mad that they changed their sound, which they have almost done every album.

Sam Albus I completely agree. I am also a big fan of Coldplay and shall remain for the rest of my life. Another favorite band of mine, Linkin Park is facing the same thing as Coldplay where people criticize them for making music that sounds different from their original style. I am very sure that if Coldplay and Linkin Park made music that sounded the same, those same "fans" would be criticizing them for making similar sounding music.

I remember when I first heard this gem, it felt like it was getting better every second and then there was the perfect climatic end..........such overwhelming feelings and every time it feels like I am hearing it for the first time.

Yeah,they did start going that way then but they were not fully into it yet. now AHFOD is just going down hill and fell off the hook I just don't enjoy it as much.
Ghost Stories is also great. It's liked a modernised Parachutes. I'd say it's between those five but Parachutes and AROBTTH are one step ahead.
I don't know what it is but I just want to hug this guy for creating this music.....love coldplay. So uplifitng....since I have been listening to this music daily, things have been changing for me and my family..things are more positive, a more positive outlook...I can't say its the music that's helping but I do believe is does have something to do with it all. Keep creating music codlplay, you are all very gifted.......you guys are awesome.
