ABOUT COLDPLAY
Since forming at university in London, Coldplay have gone on to become one of the planet’s most popular acts, selling more than 100 million copies of their nine Number One albums, which have spawned a string of hits including Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Paradise, Viva La Vida, A Sky Full Of Stars, Hymn For The Weekend, Adventure Of A Lifetime, Orphans and, most recently, Higher Power and My Universe.

T'as pas une petite moustiquaire à poser? Quel dommage.
Et grosses bises à Lola!
Qui contre toute attente, n'a pas voulu du Fatal Bazooka. C'est à n'y rien comprendre. Bon, c'est vrai que j'ai entendu parler d'obscure rumeur qui court sur des noisettes...
Huh? English plz
YES 😫
I don't get how people could hate Coldplays songs. I'm obsessed with them.
Selenator Kate Some people are just 'too cool for school' to like anything mainstream. Hipsters with chips on their shoulder. Good music is good music ... this a wonderful song.
Selenator Kate no one can really hate Coldplay, they just wanna be different so they can pretend they have better taste than everyone else
i know. its real music unlike all the rap crap out there
Selenator Kate They have some good songs. But a lot that are too predictable poppy stuff. Also Chris Martins voice is pretty dull.
nitelite78 dull huh.... you try to sing like him......

I really like that lyric a lot.

This song is soaked in sadness, inevitability and nostalgia that gives us some time to feel the taste of things, people and places long gone and heading to be forgotten.

Absolutely true!! This is a song of incredible depth!
This song made me realised 2 things:
1. How old I’m getting since the first time i listened to it.
2. How amazing it still is throughout these years.
Seriously! I was six when I first heard it🥰
I forgot this was about a decade ago...
i feel the same way ....i remember x&y came out in 2005 and i bought the cd on the release date at virgin megastore in Manhattan nyc i was like 21 at the time now im 37.and i still love this album ...some songs feel like they could have been released now in 2022 instead of 2005..
The moment I hear that first 10 seconds, it brings back memories of the early 2000's. This song is already 17 years old by now and it blows my mind

I do have to say. I miss this version of Coldplay. I know bands evolve with time and change, but they’ve catered to a more “top-40” type of sound for the past 10 years or so. This era of the band was magical.
when artists are going mainstream, the music is most of the times going backwards unfortunately.
@@JoostAjax2604 estas muy a pesar de todo en cada album sigue teniendo ese no sw que de coldplay y esoo se siente ya no es la letra o el sonido tiene que ver algo mas alla de lo que un ojo humano no puede ver

Not too many bands can blur sonic melancholia and the uplifting all into one song…First time I heard it when it was released in mid-2005, over the cable radio station (remember those?) at our advertising agency in the studio bullpen, I knew it was an instant classic. Perfectly matched my mood at the time, for a whole host of reasons, and has stuck with me ever since. ❤

I played this at my Mom's funeral, because of how moved she was by this song and the beauty of the choreography of the lights behind the players. I can't help but weep when I hear and see this, as my mom touches my heart when I see and hear this...it's truly a beautiful song and beautiful imagery. The lights behind the players are just as powerful and moving as the song itself...

@@mikenolan2679 Time does heal, but thankfully does not numb us to the wonderous and beauty of life. If anything, time makes those beautiful brushstrokes of humanity a gorgeous painting upon our souls, and we carry them from our first breath, to our last. Thank you for your condolences, but to be honest, I'm glad my Mum has passed, as after having seven strokes, she didn't know who or what or where she was....she was a stranger in a strange land, and death brought her peace. No one deserves to mentally or physically struggle due to such a debilitating disease, so her going back to Mother Earth, she'll have found a warming and loving embrace from the Mother Goddess. Goddess Bless you, Mike. You have a beautiful and kind and supportive soul, from across the oceans. Death is something as a species, no matter where or when we live, it brings us together to find some comfort and love, despite being stranger. All my sympathy is with your Mother and you. Let her be in Paradise. You will meet her one day and re-unite with her.

In my opinion This is one of the best songs made. Very dreamy and nostalgic sounding. Hard to find newer music that matches the meaning this one has.
i always end up coming back to it, it makes me feel this certain way, i guess its kind of nostalgia, but also all of the cool things the future may hold, its like both at the same time, and i dont know why.

How long before I get in?
Before it starts, before I begin?
How long before you decide?
Before I know what it feels like?
Where To, where do I go?
If you never try, then you'll never know.
How long do I have to climb,
Up on the side of this mountain of mine?
Look up, I look up at night,
Planets are moving at the speed of light.
Climb up, up in the trees,
every chance that you get,
is a chance you seize.
How long am I gonna stand,
with my head stuck under the sand?
I'll start before I can stop,
before I see things the right way up.
All that noise, and all that sound,
All those places I got found.
And birds go flying at the speed of sound,
to show you how it all began.
Birds came flying from the underground,
if you could see it then you'd understand?
Ideas that you'll never find,
All the inventors could never design.
The buildings that you put up,
Japan and China all lit up.
The sign that I couldn't read,
or a light that I couldn't see,
some things you have to believe,
but others are puzzles, puzzling me.
All that noise, and all that sound,
All those places I got found.
And birds go flying at the speed of sound,
to show you how it all began.
Birds came flying from the underground,
if you could see it then you'd understand,
ah when you see it then you'll understand?
All those signs, I knew what they meant.
Some things you can invent.
Some get made, and some get sent,
Ooh?
Birds go flying at the speed of sound,
to show you how it all began.
Birds came flying from the underground,
if you could see it then you'd understand,
ah, when you see it then you'll understand?

I was in college when this song came out. Simple country boy going to the city for school. Indeed the speed of sound and lights of the city. So much nostalgia. I miss this decade. Already 36 yrs old. Coldplay is forever. This song, this album.
I turned 14 in 2005. It was my birthday when I listened to this song on tv. What a wonderful childhood memories.❤ this song and that days memories will be always my heart and soul.
I was 9 years old when I heard this on radio. I remember this song being played a lot on the NY radio station that me and my parents were listening to whenever I was in the car with my parents
I remember a decade ago, when i was 6, falling asleep in the car listening to this, good times, too bad the world cant go back to being what it was

Golum Red exactly the feelings i get from these songs :(
There has been 4 ice ages before our coming ice age. I really believe there will be another coming of the golden age of music that we went through :)
Maybe not them in particular, but the next kids will show us. But then again, we might be then too old and mature to enjoy the simple things those songs meant to us when we were growing up.
But you can go back to that world.
Listen to this music.

Its hard to definitively explain what this song is to me and so many others. Those who get it get it. Its life changing. Coldplay is hope. This song is the anthem for that. It feels like the past. It feels like the future. It feels like the darkness has passed and the light is streaking in. It feels like we can be something, do something. In big ways, but better in s5private/personal ways. Its feels like a boy somewhere finally getting the courage to talk to the girl he always liked or standing up to his overbearing father. Its feels like a 32 year old woman (me) in her kitchen on a random Sunday afternoon singing and dancing in her kitchen, knowing there is hope to finally chase her dreams and live the life she knows she's meant to. It feels like a father throwing his son in the air and melting at his delightful screams. It feels like that woman who's gotten that power haircut she's wanted, ready to take on the world. This song feels like hope. It is hope.
I agree with this

I've always thought of this song as "Clocks" part 2. Both songs equally epic in melancholic perfection. When this song first came out and I heard it, it was like hearing a reincarnation of Clocks. The two songs definitely have their differences, but for me, this will always be some sort of spiritual successor to Clocks. I do probably prefer Clocks, though, only by a little bit. Clocks was WAY ahead of it's time musically when it came out in 2002, which is something I think people tend to forget.
+Nostalgic_Chaos I've seen you other comment(s) in their other videos. Your description of his songs are brilliant.

I wouldn't call a top 10 song in the us an underrated song
This song is so indescribably beautiful. I'm crying ❤🪐🌈☄️
Hard to pick a favourite Coldplay song but boy do I find myself coming back to this more often than most. Masterpiece.
I feel that the song's lyrics basically give meaning to life's unanswered questions. Like a realization of some sort. The lyrics tell the story a person who just spent his entire life trying to find an answer, but accepts he will never find it and realizes that never finding the answer is in fact the true and realistic answer.
I especially love it when it says, "Some things you can invent. Some get made and some get sent." Meaning there are some questions or things in life that can be answered, but some you just have to accept never finding the answer and live on which is reality.
Anyways thx for reading. I just really wanted to get out what I felt was the meaning of this song.

I went to one of their concerts for my 12th birthday. And nowadays I listen to them more than he does haha and he says they've lost their sound, which is partly true, but they will always have a place in my heart. When I am down or feel like I have no other music to listen to I always turn to Coldplay. Probably my favourite band EVER period.

I'd be honored if some Coldplay fans would check out my acoustic piano & vocal covers of SKY FULL OF STARS and VIVA LA VIDA on my channel in tribute to the masters of 21st century music. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and peace.
I dont think they lost their sound, I think they found their sound. They may have lost the sound you were familiar with, but they've said that their most recent music has been the music they've been aiming to make all along and they finally did it.
@@Joelyne37 their new stuff is generic mainstream tosh mate, sorry but it's true. This song is from a time when they used to be relevant.
Ollie Doveton-Kaufman ok well that’s how u feel, but according to them their most recent album was the sound that they’ve been striving to make since the beginning. That’s the album that feels the most like them.. so if they’re happy and proud to be making that music I don’t see a problem with it
@@Joelyne37 I think you'll find that most people feel the same way, which is evidenced by the fact that pretty much no one talks about Coldplay anymore - ironic given that they're more mainstream than they ever have been.
Regarding this claim they made about their own music, if it is true, I'd say they're either in denial or they just don't want to admit to how far they've fallen. Quite simple really. The rest of us can see it.
One of the finest singles ever crafted. Their first 3 LPs were the best run any band has ever had and they're still consistently making awesome music.

All that noise, and all that sound
All those places I have found
And birds go flying at the speed of sound
To show you how it all began
Birds came flying from the underground
If you could see it then you'd understand
Ideas that you'll never find
All the inventors could never design
The buildings that you put up
Japan and China all lit up
The sign that I couldn't read
Or a light that I couldn't see
Some things you have to believe
But others are puzzles, puzzling me
All that noise, and all that sound
All those places I have found
And birds go flying at the speed of sound
To show you how it all began
Birds came flying from the underground
If you could see it then you'd understand
Ah when you see it then you'll understand
All those signs, I knew what they meant
Some things you can invent
And some get made, and some get sent
Ooh ooh
Birds go flying at the speed of sound
To show you how it all began
Birds came flying from the underground
If you could see it then you'd understand
Ah, when you see it then you'll understand
All those places I got found
Thanks so much. What amazing lyrics!
Always thought that this phrase uplifted the song to another level
Thanks, lyric guy

We need this type of motivational music back. No more collaborations with hip hop artists. This is music that opens the mind and spirit. Just a joyful work of art. Please bring this type of music back.
I love this song
I am brazilian and here is a shit funk all day i hate funk sorry for my bad english i am just listen This wonderfull of coldplay
@@gabrielparma8943 Digo o mesmo kkkk, Coldplay é uma maravilha que abre sua mente, e aqui só temos funk...
How was this song nostalgic to me when i was there when it first came out? That"s how transcendent Coldplay was. ❤❤❤
I remember constantly listening to the X&Y album on iTunes. Speed of Sound became my favourite song. I’ve been listening to this band my whole life, and I can’t believe how incredible all of their music is
Coldplay used to be way much better than now
Thank you! Someone understands
Magic's a really good song though
jarebare555 Yeah! For sure, but not so good as Speed Of Sound, The Scientist, Trouble, Clocks... and more, the old Coldplay
jarebare555 Magic is horrendous compared to stuff like this
Emily Taylor-Davies Yeah and compared to Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, most songs are horrendous... just because something is better that something else, doesn't mean the latter is not good.
Love Coldplay. I always thought that "Clocks" is like a question and "Speed of Sound" is its answer.
they sound alike
Talk was the rebuttal...
Both songs used the same scale/modes. It's a music theory thing, but it explains why.
I love that. 🥰😌
@@HD-er2cq this too. 🙏
This came out when I was in the third grade. I'll never forget it. It's moved me in ways you could not imagine. I'm 30 now and it still feels like the first time every time it's played. Thank you Coldplay.
Nothing better than exercising to this band they make me reach levels I need to. 😊❤
Every song from Coldplay is good, wow

Same. I actually discovered it with Kids Bop, and then watched this music video when it was online before TH-cam :D
I had the NTWICM 19 album with this song when I was a child. This takes me back for real.
