I wanted to say thank you. This man is my great grandfather, and I had never been able to find a live recording of him, until you posted this. It means so much to me to be able to really see him singing, I grew up listening to him, singing these songs. My grandmother, his daughter (the second of two identical twin girls named after this song), is currently 93 years old, in a nursing home, and was delighted to see her father singing again. Again, thank you.
I apologize for getting back to you so late, but I wanted to say that this comment meant the world to me. I look up to your great grandfather and he is a huge inspiration to me, and I feel as if I’ve paid my due back for performing his music myself. Thank you so much :)
Same here, I was so glad to find it. I’ll put the link below of the college archive site where I found it. I brought it here so more can enjoy it. I believe there’s more performances by him on this site, I’ll try to upload them myself soon. berea.libraryhost.com/?p=collections/findingaid&id=654&q=&rootcontentid=198354
I used to like this song. But I couldn't sit through 7 minutes of this version. It took me back to my college days and a Folk Song and Ballads course where we spent an entire class listening to versions of "hard-hearted Barbry Allen."
He’s a great uncle of mine….. thank you!
This song is pure melancholy. Live version has even more soul in it

We must be related.😊
Don't think I've ever seen a live recording of Bradley Kincaid. A piece of history. Thanks for that!

A course on Folk Songs and Ballads definitely sounds like it would interest me, but an entire class of Barbra Allen? I don’t think I could bare it!
Birthday wooooooooooooo
